Chapter 41

Chapter 41

Yesterday in the middle of the night, Si Wan woke up from thirst and wanted to get some water to drink, but she didn't expect that when Pu opened the door, he almost kicked Liuli down the stairs.

"Why are you leaning against my door so late at night?"

Si Wan restrained her voice and questioned, looking speechless.

She walked around Liuli and found the refrigerator to get a bottle of iced Perrier.

When I drink the icy bubbles into my mouth, I feel so comfortable.

"Brother Jin is mine." Liuli followed over, grinning foolishly and nervously.

Si Wan wanted to go back to her room to continue sleeping, so she ignored Liuli and walked past her straight to her room.

Liuli took a step forward, not giving up: "Mother Wen will help me fight the monster."

"Mother Wen?" Si Wan paused, then slowly turned around and looked at Liu Li: "When you say Mother Wen, are you referring to Wen Qing?"

*

"I don't understand what you are talking about." Jiang Zhong denied it, but his fingers turned white from pressing on the rosewood table.

Si Wan raised an eyebrow, secretly complaining. It seemed that Liuli's words were somewhat credible.

"Get your writing brush, ink, paper, and inkstone ready. I'll come over when I have time. I'll accept you as my disciple."

A carefree smile bloomed on her face, and Si Wan walked away with a brisk pace after she finished speaking.

There is no rush to find the truth. She came here today just to verify whether there was any credibility in Liuli's crazy words last night.

In the evening, Si Wan returned home.

"Bao'er! Bao'er! Come and see."

As soon as she entered the room, Gu Yiru, contrary to her usual behavior, did not give her daughter a bear hug to comfort her who had just returned from a "business trip". Instead, she waved excitedly to Si Wan with her cell phone in hand.

Si Wan raised her eyebrows in surprise and walked over to ask, "What did you see that made you so excited?"

On the screen, a woman with her face covered by a veil was playing the climax of Pingsha Luoyan.

“…” Damn Yu Jinnian. Si Wan cursed in her heart.

Didn’t he promise that the footage of her appearing in Feng Huarong would be blocked?

Several days have passed since then, and not only did it appear, but Gu Yiru also saw it.

"Haha, I thought it was something else. It's just playing a crappy tune." Si Wan pretended to be uninterested.

Gu Yiru, however, praised the woman in the picture highly:

"My dear, I love the guqin very much. I even sent you to learn it when you were a child.

The teachers all praised you for your talent, if that incident hadn’t suddenly happened…”

Gu Yiru suddenly looked at Si Wan alertly, and unfortunately Si Wan was also looking at Gu Yiru.

"What about that?" Si Wan asked Gu Yiru without blinking.

“Oh, that was when you were a kid, you don’t even remember it.

Because you didn't want to learn the piano, you secretly cut up Mr. Huangpu's piano.

If she gets angry, she won't want you anymore. Otherwise, my treasure might be better than this musician now."

Gu Yiru's explanation was very natural, but in Si Wan's eyes, this acting was clearly to cover up something.

Si Wan smiled, staring at Gu Yiru's expression, and asked, "Really? Why don't I have any impression of it?"

"You're too young to have any impression." Gu Yiru put away her phone and turned to walk towards the kitchen. "Mom made you some soup. Wash your hands and come over to drink some soup."

"Okay." Si Wan stared at Gu Yiru's back thoughtfully.

Si Wan returned to her room, took a shower, dressed neatly, and went to the restaurant.

Seeing that Si Wan was dressed as if she was going out, Gu Yiru asked while serving her soup, "Bao, are you going out again?"

Si Wan: "Yeah, I made an appointment with Wu Nan to go karaoke."

"Sing karaoke! Sing karaoke, that's fine! It'll be boring for you two, mom has a friend's son..."

"Mom..." Si Wan laughed helplessly: "Wu Nan and I have something to discuss today, and it's not convenient to have outsiders here."

"Oh. Okay then." Gu Yiru pretended to be sad and sat down next to Si Wan: "Baby, the thing I'm most worried about is you. If you can find your own happiness, then I'll die without regrets!"

“…”

Si Wan chuckled twice with a forced smile: "Mom, can you please stop watching those mindless TV dramas?"

Gu Yiru tutted her words and glared at Si Wan coquettishly: "...I don't care, you have to make time for it tomorrow anyway. This one is really good, you must take a look."

"Okay, Mom will take care of the arrangements." Si Wan lost her appetite after being naggled by Gu Yiru, and was not ready to eat. "It's too late, I'm leaving now."

He ran away with his bag.

Si Wan stepped on the accelerator of the Land Rover to the bottom, and the sound of the engine tore through the twilight of Yachuan.

As the car passed Shijo-dori, the glass reflected the overlapping shadows of Gion townhouses and skyscrapers, and neon lights flowed on the windows like liquid gold foil.

The ends of her hair brushed past her Chanel sunglasses, and the Rolex dial on her wrist reflected the flowing light of the Arashiyama Cable Car.

The vermilion lacquered gate of Jin Garden burst open with the sound of tires rubbing against each other.

Si Wan slammed the car door and got out, her high heels crushing the cherry petals all over the ground.

Green smoke rose from the incense burner at the entrance, intertwined with the sound of whiskey ice cubes colliding from the island on the second floor.

As she climbed the stairs, the ambient lighting in the corridor stretched her shadow into a long, thin shape, like a poisoned sword.

"You promised me." She kicked over the Southern Song Dynasty celadon vase on the antique shelf, and the fragments splashed on the Persian carpet like scattered stars.

Jinnian leaned against the sliding door of the Japanese-style room, his fingertips caressing the rim of the whiskey glass. The crystal chandelier cast tiny specks of light in his pupils: "You are so angry."

The dry landscape in the courtyard emits a cold light, and the stone lanterns and the LED screen of the city skyline complement each other.

Si Wan suddenly chuckled: "If you mess with me again, I'll burn down this shabby place of yours."

"Really? Why not tease me first?"

The moment Yu Jinnian grabbed her neck, Si Wan heard the ends of her hair brushing against the Edo-era glass chandelier, and the crystal tassels collided with the sound of broken diamonds.

The fabric of his pajamas brushed against her exposed waist, and his body temperature burned her skin like a knife tempered with cherry blossom honey.

The Ming Dynasty celadon brush washer on the edge of the island was knocked over, and the ink snaked across the marble surface.

“Hmm…”

Si Wan tasted the whiskey and blood on the corner of his lips, and then she realized that she had bitten his lip.

She dug her nails into the back of his neck, but when his tongue invaded between his teeth, she let out a broken sigh, as if she wanted to grind all her anger into candied fruit and swallow it.

The Tang Dynasty three-colored glazed camel on the antique display shelf crashed to the ground, and the fragments scratched the inside of Si Wan's thigh, causing tiny bloodstains to bloom on her pale skin.

Yu Jinnian broke the pearl necklace around her neck, and the round beads rolled into the dark patterns of the Persian carpet, like moonlight scattered on the ground.

He grabbed her wrist and pressed it against the sink, then leaned over and pinched Si Wan's chin with his big hand, forcing her to look up at the mirror.

"Yu Jinnian, have you ever told me that you're a pervert?" Si Wan panted and bit his earlobe, her nails scratching bloody Sanskrit on his back.

Yu Jinnian's chest vibrated as he chuckled softly, "Don't you like it very much?"

The dry landscape in the courtyard reflected the mess inside the room, and the stone lanterns cast their swaying shadows in the mirror, like an ink-stained erotic painting.

When the climax came, Si Wan saw her own broken reflection in the man's pupils, and suddenly she couldn't tell who was having more fun in this gambling game.

The rough palm lines ran down along her collarbone, and Si Wan's fingers unconsciously stroked the old gunshot wound on the back of his neck.

… He had a gunshot wound.

I noticed it last time, but I didn’t have time to think about it too much.
