Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Si Wan went on strike, staying indoors for half a month. The next time she set foot in Huading, she was only in the parking lot.

"Come down to the parking lot."

Wu Cong had been living in fear for some time, but when he received Si Wan's call that day, he felt as if he had been pardoned.

"Sister Wan, you are finally here." He leaned against the car door, so excited that he even changed his address.

The word Sister Wan called out could be described as "ancestor".

Si Wan raised the corner of her lips slightly, lowered her sunglasses, and took a USB drive from the passenger seat and handed it to Wu Cong: "Don't be happy, we'll leave right away."

"What is this?" Wu Cong asked.

"The design draft is enough to support Fenghuarong's market for the next three years. Three years is also enough time for Yu Dong to find a new craftsman."

Wu Cong was shocked and felt something was wrong: "Sister Wan, what do you mean? Do you know that you are..."

"It has nothing to do with me." Wu Cong was interrupted by Si Wan before he could finish his words, and then he stepped on the accelerator and drove away.

“…” Wu Cong wanted to cry but had no tears.

In the past half month, the company has been like a hell shrouded in dark clouds, and the depressing and tense atmosphere is almost tangible.

The usually bustling office is now so quiet that you can hear a pin drop. The employees seem to have become cautious shadows, afraid of accidentally touching the invisible warning line.

Wu Cong is a typical representative of this depressing atmosphere.

Every day when he walked into the company, it was like stepping into a minefield, and he didn't even dare to breathe.

Every breath became extremely cautious, as if the slightest sound of air flow could cause a storm.

His daily routine now consists of sitting at his workstation, his eyes fixed on the computer screen, waiting for his boss's anger at any moment.

The colleagues around me were also silent. The lively conversations and laughter of the past were long gone, replaced by low whispers and worried glances from time to time.

In the conference room, Yu Jinnian's eyes were as cold as the King of Hell.

Silence was like a huge stone, pressing down on everyone present and making it hard for them to breathe.

When the employees reported their work, their voices trembled unconsciously, for fear that their performance would become the fuse for the anger of the two leaders.

The past half month has been a torment for everyone in the company.

Everyone hopes that this cold war will end soon so that the company can regain its former vitality.

And Wu Cong pushed the door open and came in...

Needless to say, the folder on the desktop says it all.

"Give me the Nansha Sea project plan before the end of get off work today."

After Yu Jinnian finished speaking in a deep voice, he slowly stood up. The aura around him spread out like a substance, making him look like the King of Hell walking out of hell, which was chilling.

His figure was tall and straight, like a cold statue.

He was wearing a pure black suit, which emitted a cold luster under the light, and his face was stern and cold.

His eyes were as sharp as a knife, as if they could penetrate one's soul. There was no warmth in his deep eyes, as if they contained endless darkness and coldness.

After a pause, no one raised any objections, so he lowered his eyes and left.

"No way! The Nansha Sea project wouldn't be completed even in a week, and we're being asked to finish it today. Isn't that too much of a stretch?"

Some people complained, thinking that Wu Cong could still help everyone get through the crisis safely this time.

Unexpectedly, Wu Cong had already started 3D modeling.

“!”

The summer night breeze is like a gentle hand, caressing everything.

Yu Jinnian drove the car and slowly came to the downstairs of Si Wan's house.

The engine was turned off and I sat quietly in the car. The breeze from the window carried the faint scent of grass and trees into the car.

He lit a cigarette and took a deep breath.

Then he exhaled slowly, and white smoke filled the small space.

He looked through the car window, straight towards Si Wan's room.

The curtains in the room were half-drawn, letting in a dim light, like a warm harbor in the darkness.

Yu Jinnian's thoughts drifted away with the smoke. He recalled every moment he had spent with Si Wan, playing it in his mind like a movie.

He knew why he came here. It was the longing and the attachment deep in his heart that was hard to let go.

The cigarette in his hand gradually burned out, and the ash fell to the floor inside the car. But he was completely unaware and continued to look at the window.

Occasionally, the wind blew, ruffling the curtains, and his heart trembled slightly, as if all his expectations and anxieties were hidden behind the curtains.

As the night deepened, the surroundings gradually became quiet.

Yu Jinnian took one last look at the window, then started the car and slowly drove away.

All that remains is the summer night breeze and the gradually dissipating smoke.

"How can you vent your anger?"

"Wanwan, what should we do?"

Si Wan saw the two messages after she woke up.

Si Wan sat on the soft sofa with a happy smile on her face.

Liu Leyao snuggled up to her side obediently, her little mouth as sweet as honey, praising Si Wan non-stop: "Godmother, you look so beautiful today, your temperament is simply unmatched."

Liu Leyao's sweet voice rang in Si Wan's ears, and Si Wan was coaxed into smiling with her eyes narrowed into slits.

However, at this moment of joy, Si Wan picked up her phone and called Wen Qing.

"Wen Qing, do you want to talk about your granddaughter?" Wen Qing on the other end of the phone quickly agreed.

The meeting place was chosen to be a quiet cafe.

Not long after Wen Qing arrived, she saw Liu Leyao appear with Si Wan.

When Wen Qing's eyes fell on Liu Leyao, an indescribable emotion welled up in her heart. This was her own granddaughter, and her eyes and eyebrows were full of the shadow of her own child.

After Si Wan sat down with the little girl, Wen Qing's eyes remained on Liu Leyao.

The more she looked, the stronger her desire to snatch her granddaughter away became.

She secretly told herself that she could not let her granddaughter stay with Si Wan no matter what.

Wen Qing cleared her throat and tried to find an opportunity to communicate with Liu Leyao alone.

She thought of cultivating a relationship with her granddaughter first, and then slowly finding a way to take her away from Si Wan and let Liu Leyao return to the family that truly belonged to her.

The afternoon sun lazily shone on the floor of the cafe. Wen Qing opened her arms lovingly towards six-year-old Liu Leyao and said softly, "Yaoyao, come here, let me hug you."

Liu Leyao stood there, shaking her little head like a rattle, her eyes wide open, and said in a childish but very determined voice, "I don't want you to hold me. I don't have a grandma. Because my dad doesn't have a mom."

Wen Qing's smile froze on her face in an instant. Her outstretched hands stopped in mid-air, her eyes were full of loss and sadness, and the corners of her mouth trembled slightly, as if she had a thousand words to say but didn't know where to start.

She looked at Liu Leyao, her lips moved, and finally she just sighed softly.

Wen Qing knew that children's words were innocent, but these words still hurt her heart like needles.

She turned around silently and walked towards the snack table with heavy steps, intending to get some snacks that the children liked.

While choosing pastries, Wen Qing recalled the scene of herself abandoning Jiang Hansheng, and tears welled up in her eyes involuntarily.

She knew that this was her retribution.

As for Liu Leyao, she knew that her words had hurt others, but the little girl just shook her head as if to say, "I did it on purpose."

Si Wan just watched and listened indifferently.
