Chapter 189 Let’s Have a Grandson

Back in the car, Meng Qing sat in the passenger seat and said with a smile: "You brothers really have a deep bond."

Lin Feng smiled and shook his head, "Okay, I didn't sleep well on the plane, go to sleep first, I'll call you when we get there."

"Okay." Meng Qing turned sideways and put her head on the edge of the bed. She really liked sitting in the car and looking at the scenery outside the window.

The winter in Jinling City carries the unique dampness and coldness of the Jiangnan region, and the air is filled with the faint charm of the old times.

The Meng family’s house has blue bricks and black tiles, and a deep courtyard.

When Lin Feng and Meng Qing walked into the heavy vermilion lacquered door, Aunt Zhang came to greet them with uncontrollable joy on her face.

"Miss! Mr. Lin! You are finally back!" Aunt Zhang's voice was a little choked.

Meng Hai and Wang Wanqing had already been waiting in the main hall.

Seeing his daughter and son-in-law returning hand in hand, Menghai's usually elegant and calm face also broke into a comfortable smile, and his eyes were filled with undisguised relief and kindness.

Wang Wanqing's eyes immediately turned red. She stepped forward and held Meng Qing's hand tightly. She looked her up and down, then looked at Lin Feng and nodded repeatedly:

"I'm glad you're back! I'm thinner and more energetic! Come inside! It's warm inside!"

In the following days, time seemed to be stretched and slowed down.

A light snow fell in Jinling City, decorating the ancient houses like an ink painting.

Lin Feng and Meng Qing sleep until they wake up naturally every day, and wake up in a warm room with thick carpets and floor heating.

Outside the window are snow-covered eaves and silent pines and cypresses.

During the day, or in the warm study, I would drink tea and play chess with Menghai, and listen to him talk about old stories in Jinling and the ups and downs of the business world.

Or, accompany my dream mother in the kitchen filled with the aroma of food, and clumsily learn to cook an authentic Jinling dish.

Meng's mother taught patiently, Meng Qing studied seriously, while Lin Feng and Meng Hai were responsible for tasting and praising, regardless of whether it was successful or not.

In the afternoon, after the snow had cleared, the sun shone through the carved window lattices, casting mottled shadows.

The two would wrap themselves in thick cloaks and stroll in the quiet courtyard.

Stepping on the crackling snow, watching the icicles hanging on the dead branches reflecting colorful light.

Sometimes we don’t say anything, just hold hands and quietly feel the peacefulness that belongs to home.

Meng Qing would occasionally point to a corner in the courtyard and softly tell Lin Feng about the interesting things she did when she played there as a child, with warm nostalgia in her voice.

At night, the family sat around the stove, eating steaming hot pot and listening to the rustling sound of snow falling outside the window.

Under the orange light, there are laughter and the clinking of bowls and chopsticks, which is the most ordinary yet precious atmosphere of life.

Mu Mu curled up in the cushioned wicker cat bed, warming himself by the heater, purring contentedly, the tip of his tail occasionally wagging comfortably.

During the time in Jinling, there was no hustle and bustle of traveling, no worries about work, only warmth and companionship that permeated into my bones.

The last bit of tension in Lin Feng's body completely relaxed in this quiet warmth.

"When I met your mother, it was really amazing." Meng Hai said with a smile while sitting on the chair.

"It was you who chased me." Wang Wanqing joked while knitting a scarf.

Meng Hai smiled awkwardly and said nothing.

"Mom, why did you fall in love with my dad back then?" Meng Qing asked with a smile, nestling in Lin Feng's arms.

"Hey, girl, how can you talk like that? Your father was a very good man, right?" Meng Hai said unhappily.

Wang Wanqing recalled the past and smiled with a bit of girlish shyness, "I did it because your father gave me a scarf he knitted himself."

"A hero never brags about his past achievements." Meng Hai said with a smile, touching his head.

Meng Qing was smiling charmingly in Lin Feng's arms.

The four of them sat on the sofa and chatted, and Mengqing was also telling Menghai and Wang Wanqing about the interesting things that happened in the past two years.

I went to the critical corner of the world, went to the Arctic to see polar bears and the aurora, and went to the Antarctic to see penguins.

The two also took a photo together.

"You post to your circle of friends every day, and we all see it, so there's no need to say anything." Wang Wanqing said with a smile.

"Your father and I have decided that after a few years, we will go out and see the world." Wang Wanqing said, looking towards Meng Hai.

"Okay." Meng Qing nodded.

Meng Qing noticed that Lin Feng had been unable to engage in conversation, so she deliberately nodded at him and said, "Lin Feng, I want to hear a story."

"What do you want to hear?" Lin Feng asked curiously.

"I want to hear the story of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea." Meng Qing said with a smile while nestling in Lin Feng's arms.

"Okay." Lin Feng nodded, and Meng Qing changed to a comfortable position and lay down in his arms.

Meng Hai and Wang Wanqing also stopped and listened to Lin Feng's story.

"After a long time..."

As time goes by, Meng Qing still falls asleep, and the story gradually comes to an end.

Lin Feng stopped and gently said goodbye to Meng's father and mother.

"Thank you, Xiaofeng." Wang Wanqing said softly.

Lin Feng looked at her in confusion.

"We didn't have time to accompany her before. Thank you for always being with her." Wang Wanqing said with red eyes.

Lin Feng smiled and waved, then gently carried Meng Qing into the private room.

"Girl, are you still pretending to sleep?" Lin Feng gently scratched the tip of Meng Qing's nose.

"Hehe." Meng Qing nestled in Lin Feng's arms and said with a smile.

"Stay here and I'll go wash up." Lin Feng kissed Meng Qing on the forehead.

Meng Qing nodded and started playing with the bottle. These were the shells he and Lin Feng brought back from the beach.

There are lights inside, which looks nice.

When Lin Feng came out, he found that Meng Qing had fallen asleep.

He came to Meng Qing gently and looked at her quietly.

Until there was a puff.

Meng Qing couldn't help laughing, and Lin Feng came over and said, "Okay, you actually pretended to sleep."

As he spoke, he reached out to tickle Meng Qing.

"Lin Feng, I didn't, I didn't. Hahahaha... I really didn't... hahahaha..." Meng Qing replied while unable to help laughing.

When both of them were tired, they cuddled together in each other's arms.

"Lin Feng." Meng Qing called softly.

"What's the matter?" Lin Feng replied gently.

"I love you." Meng Qing whispered while biting Lin Feng's ear.

Lin Feng leaned close to Meng Qing's lips and whispered, "Me too."

Another sleepless night...

The next day, sunlight shone through the window.

Lin Feng and Meng Qing went downstairs together. Wang Wanqing came over and asked, "Are you really not staying for two more days?"

"Mom, Hangzhou is very close anyway, we will come back often." Mengqing hugged Wang Wanqing's arm and said coquettishly.

"Okay, okay, I got it. Be careful on the road." Wang Wanqing couldn't resist her daughter's coquettishness.

"If you really can't bear to let her go, just bring us a granddaughter." Meng Hai said.

"What did Dad say?" Meng Qing's face turned red.

Lin Feng lowered his head and thought seriously.

"What are you thinking about?" Meng Qing looked at Lin Feng's serious expression with a somewhat annoyed smile.

"No." Lin Feng said vaguely.

Then the two got in the car and returned to Hangzhou.
