Chapter 15 The Bold A-Ruan

Although Wei Min told A'ruan not to give all the good things to Wei Luo, he still divided the meat he bought into two and gave them to Wei Lian.

Wei Lian asked her where the money came from, and Wei Min said that she wrote letters for people on the street and did not mention anything about moving sacks at the dock.

A'ruan had already prepared the meal, and now that Wei Min came back, he immediately brought it out from the pot, steaming hot.

Simple noodles, a beaten egg, and a plate of fried ground ear are very fragrant.

The ground ears were picked by Sun when he went to the mountains two days after the rain. This thing tastes delicious whether used for making soup or stir-frying.

Ah Ruan put almost all the broken eggs in the noodles into Wei Min's bowl and brought it to her.

"The doctor said you are too thin, so the eggs are left for you." Wei Min was a little tired, with a slightly exhausted look on her face. She took the bowl in front of A Ruan, put some fried crust into the rice, and started eating with her head down.

Seeing that Wei Min seemed to be very hungry, Ah Ruan stopped pushing the bowl of eggs to her and secretly glanced at her several times while eating.

Wei Min ate two bowls of rice in a row before stopping to catch her breath. Ah Ruan took the empty bowl from her hand and walked to the pot and heard her say, "Just fill another half bowl."

Ah Ruan nodded, and after serving the meal to Wei Min, she raised her hand and "asked" her:

——Is the meal today especially delicious?

Wei Min paused as he stretched out his hand to pick up some food.

Ah Ruan frowned slightly and looked at her, pursed his lips, and gestured:

——You ate more than usual at night. Did you skip lunch?

Wei Min unnoticedly took back his chopsticks, lowered his head and ate the rice in the bowl twice, then looked up at him with a smile, "It's because Ruan cooked delicious food today. Whatever you cook will taste delicious."

Ah Ruan's heart was aroused by Wei Min's casual words. She glanced at her lightly but did not ask any more questions.

After dinner, when A'ruan picked up the bowl and chopsticks to wash up, Wei Min rarely followed her. She usually follows him.

A Ruan pursed her lips, holding the bowl in her hand, sighed imperceptibly, and lowered her eyelids to hide the heartache in her eyes.

When A'ruan brought the hot water into the inner room again, Wei Min was already half asleep leaning against the head of the bed, and the fatigue between his brows could not be hidden.

A Ruan unconsciously lowered her footsteps, placed the basin on the shelf beside her, soaked a towel in it, wrung out the water, and brought it over to gently cover her face.

Wei Min's eyelids moved, and he called out vaguely, "Aruan?"

Hearing this, A'ruan leaned forward, took the towel from Wei Min's face, bent down and kissed her forehead lightly, motioning for her to go to sleep while he washed her.

Wei Min relaxed her body instantly, half-closed her eyes and let A Ruan wipe her face. When she was about to wipe her hands, she shook her head and said, "I just washed them."

Ah Ruan did not force it. Instead, she brought the basin down, squatted at Wei Min's feet, took off her shoes, and helped her feet into the basin.

Wei Min felt so comfortable as his tired feet were soaked in hot water that he couldn't help but relax his brows and eyes, and his whole body relaxed.

Ah Ruan seemed to know that Wei Min's feet were particularly tired today, and she massaged the soles of her feet with neither too much nor too little force.

Wei Min was served so gently and softly by him that he closed his eyes comfortably and fell asleep again after a while.

A Ruan held Wei Min's shoulders and let her lie on the bed. He put her legs that were hanging on the side of the bed and gently took off her coat.

Seeing that Wei Min had fallen asleep, Ah Ruan gently opened her clenched palms and saw at a glance the blisters of varying sizes on her hands. Her eyes instantly turned red.

His movements were so natural that Wei Min didn't open his eyes until he felt the coolness in his palms. "Aruan?"

A Ruan lowered his head, leaving only the top of his head visible to her so that she couldn't see the expression on his face. He gently took a cotton ball dipped in medicine and wiped her palms.

Wei Min half sat up and touched the corner of A Ruan's eyes with his free hand. He was relieved when he saw that he didn't cry. He slid his hand across his cheek and around his neck. He hugged his neck and brought him into his arms. He rubbed his chin against the top of his head and said softly, "It's okay. It will go away in two days."

A Ruan choked and buried his face in her arms, resting his forehead on her collarbone and taking a deep breath.

"It didn't hurt that much," Wei Min stroked A'ruan's back and said, "I did write letters for someone all day, and only went to the dock to move sacks in the evening."

A'ruan couldn't speak, and it was too troublesome for him to ask her many things one by one, so Wei Min developed the habit of explaining everything to him first.

A Ruan felt a pain in his heart, as if the blister was on his hand. Wei Min felt distressed when he saw his miserable look.

Wei Min kissed him on the top of his head from time to time and said, "I won't go there anymore."

Ah Ruan raised his head after hearing these words. There were no traces of tears on his face, but the corners of his eyes were wet and his eye sockets were a little red. He pursed his lips and gestured to her seriously:

——My wife is a person who wants to do great things, so she should stop doing these rough jobs. I don't like meat or pastries either.

Wei Min didn't believe a word of what A'ruan said. When she brought the pastries back, she pinched a piece and put it into A Ruan's mouth. He smiled happily and his whole body exuded a strong sweetness.

Wei Min raised his hand gently and assured him, "I won't do this kind of work anymore so as not to make you feel bad."

Only then did A Ruan let her go, took off his shoes and socks, climbed onto the bed, let Wei Min lie on his thighs, and reached out to rub her shoulders.

After Wei Min fell asleep again, A Ruan slowly stopped, lowered his eyes and looked at his wife who was resting her head on his legs, with a gentle look in his eyes.

With his hands on her face, A Ruan lowered his head and kissed her on the lips. As if it was not enough, he kissed the tip of her nose and her forehead.

The two of them haven't done that since A'ruan fell ill. Now Wei Min is so tired that he is sleeping soundly, and it is impossible for him to get up.

This state of lying on the bed, covering herself with a quilt and sleeping lasted for many days in a row, to the point that Aruan felt a little uneasy.

If this happened for one or two days, Aruan would not notice it, but after a long time, Aruan felt a little strange.

Every day, his wife was either at the academy or at home. She treated him no differently than usual, except that they didn't do that. Everything else was the same as before.

But both of them have tasted the bone-melting and soul-destroying taste, just like cats that have tasted the fishy smell, how can they just give up?

A Ruan used to feel that his wife demanded too much and that he could not handle it. But when Wei Min really held him and just slept with his hands and feet properly behaved, he couldn't sleep again.

Could it be that my wife has been abstaining from sex recently because of the Autumn Examination?

A Ruan couldn't figure this out, so he simply stopped thinking about it.

In the evening, after dinner, when Wei Min was sitting at the dining table reading a book with an oil lamp lit, Ah Ruan, who had just taken a shower and was wearing a middle-length dress with half-dry hair, came over slowly with a tape measure in her hand and stood beside her for a while.

Wei Min saw that he had no intention of calling him, so he turned around and asked him, "Why didn't you go to bed?"

Ah Ruan twisted the measuring tape with his fingers and raised his hand to gesture:

——I want to make you an autumn shirt, so I need to measure your size. I see you have lost weight recently, so I need to measure your size again.

Wei Min smiled and turned back, flipping the page of the book in front of him, and said nonchalantly: "My clothes are still wearable, if you have fabric, you can make yourself some new clothes."

"..." Seeing that her plan didn't work, A Ruan looked around for a while, and finally turned to Wei Min. Seeing that she was concentrating on reading, she lowered her head dejectedly and pursed her lips.

——Then don’t watch too late and go to bed early.

After saying this, A Ruan reached out and touched the belly of the teapot on the table. Seeing that the water inside was hot, he turned and went into the inner room.

Wei Min sat still until he heard A'ruan's footsteps leaving. He played with the pen in his hand with his slender fingers and smiled silently with his eyelids lowered.

She thought A'ruan would hold on for a while longer.

Having failed in her seduction attempt, A'ruan returned to the inner room, threw the measuring tape into the bamboo basket and glared at it.

——It’s useless.

I don’t know whether I was talking to the measuring tape or to myself.

A Ruan originally wanted to measure the size so that he could hug his wife more easily when they had physical contact.

He had just taken a shower, and his body was still warm and moist. He was so close to his wife, and his hair was neatly spread behind him. He exposed his fair and slender neck to her intentionally or unintentionally, which was just convenient for her to bury her head and kiss his neck...

Now that Ah Ruan sat down and thought about it, his face turned red with shame for his plan, and he almost smoked with embarrassment.

He lay back on the bed as if escaping and pulled the quilt over himself.

The inner room was quiet. Ah Ruan didn't know when Wei Min came in. She just felt a sudden weight on her body, and she was held in her arms along with the quilt.

The author has something to say: If this trend continues, we will just have to wait until tomorrow~
