Chapter 2 What does my husband look like?

Sun stood at the door to see Li Bing off. Just as she was about to turn around and go back into the house, she saw Wei Lian coming back with her son.

Four-year-old Wei Luo was at an active age. When he saw his father, he immediately let go of his mother's hand and ran over. He opened his arms and hugged Sun's legs. He raised his head and called sweetly, "Daddy."

Sun smiled and looked down at him, casually asking him a few questions about how he had fun in the afternoon.

Wei Luo answered every question, and the word "joy" was almost written all over his fair and tender face.

Wei Lian glanced at the father and son in front of him, then looked at the direction where Li Bingren left. After hesitating for a moment, he asked, "Who just came?"

Sun was bending over with a wet towel to wipe Wei Luo's hands. She didn't stop even when she heard him, and she didn't even raise her head. "It's Li Bing from the next village. Ah Min is already seventeen this year, and I asked Li Bing to find her a husband."

Wei Lian frowned upon hearing this, and said with a hint of disapproval, "Amin, study is the most important thing now."

Sun ignored her, but just lowered her head to wipe Wei Luo's two little hands clean, stood up and touched her son's head, and said, "Go and finish today's homework. Your mother will check it in the evening."

Wei Luo looked at his silent mother, then looked at his father who was smiling gently, blinked twice, said "oh" obediently, and turned into the inner room.

After her son's little figure disappeared, Sun said, "You can't get married if you study? Could it be that if Ah Min doesn't pass the imperial examination, he will never marry in this life?"

Seeing that Wei Lian didn't say anything, Sun spread out the towel and placed it on the edge of the basin, and then said, "Look at those people in the village who are the same age as Amin, they even have children. We are not a rich family. If Amin delays any longer, he will not be able to marry when he is older."

Knowing that what Sun said made sense, Wei Lian pursed her lips, sat down at the table in a compromising manner, and asked him, "Which young master are you talking about? Is it the youngest son of the Chen family?"

Speaking of the Chen family, Sun Shi didn't know what she thought of. She snorted coldly, "No. Their father is too picky. He would never want his son to marry into our family."

Wei Min was good-looking, and because she had been reading for many years, she had the air of books and ink. If she stood in front of people and said that she was a noble in the city, no one would doubt it.

That's right, even though Wei Min was a poor scholar, there were people who wanted to marry her just because of her face, and the youngest son of the Chen family was one of them.

There is a phrase in the book called "beauty is a feast to the eyes", but to live a life of firewood, rice, oil and salt, you will not be able to eat just by looking at your face.

The Chen family didn't show it on their faces, but in their hearts they still despised the Wei family for being poor. They felt that their son would suffer if he married into the Wei family, and would have to rely on his parents for support.

After this consideration, the Chen family was unwilling to let their youngest son marry Wei Min.

In order to stop his son from getting married, when chatting with Sun, Chen's husband intentionally or unintentionally said that the wife his son would marry in the future should not be a nerd who only knew how to study but not how to earn money to support the family, although it didn't matter how rich she was.

Sun was not a tolerant person. After hearing what Chen's husband said, she retorted without any hesitation.

The two of them don't even talk to each other when they meet now, and they hate each other. How could the Sun family possibly marry into the Chen family?

Wei Lian was not very clear about the matter, but when she saw Sun snorting when she mentioned the Chen family, she knew it was definitely not the youngest son of the Chen family.

"Whose son is that?"

Seeing her asking again, Sun's eyes flickered and she said vaguely, "He's from the next village. He's handsome and gentle. I think he's a perfect match for Ah Min."

Sun told Wei Lian everything about A'ruan, leaving some things vague and not mentioning a word about the fact that A'ruan was mute.

It was just that the family didn't like their son and wanted to move to the county, so they were anxious to marry off their adopted son.

After listening to this, Wei Lian felt that something was wrong and was a little worried, but she couldn't find any fault with what Sun said, so she said, "Since we want to become relatives, why don't we go to the Zhang family and take a look?"

Sun was relieved to hear her give in so easily, and nodded, "Of course."

Wei Min's parents had passed away for many years. He and Wei Lian were considered Wei Min's elders, so the marriage was naturally handled by the two of them.

Normally, when people get married, the groom's parents should come to the bride's house to visit, but the Zhang family doesn't value their son at all, nor do they care about the family he marries into, so now it's Wei Lian and Sun who are going to the Zhang family.

Wei Lian wrote a letter that day, and the next day someone going to the county took it to Wei Min, who was studying in the county school, asking her to come back.

Wei Min was stunned after reading Wei Lian's letter. When she received the letter, she thought something urgent had happened at home. It turned out that the letter was about a marriage proposal for her and she was hoped that she would go back to see it.

Although he had reached the age to get married, Wei Min knew the situation at home and knew he had no money to do so.

Wei Min had thought about her husband, who was considerate and gentle, when the night was quiet. However, as soon as the thought came to her mind, she cut it off and focused her attention on the book in her hand.

But now, hearing from his elder sister that his brother-in-law had found a marriage partner for her, Wei Min's heart, which had been trying hard to remain calm, suddenly became like ripples on a lake blown by the wind.

Although he still held the letter in his hand, Wei Min no longer looked at it. I couldn't help but wonder what this husband-to-be would look like.

The academy where Wei Min studied was called Luoyu Academy, and the students lived in a room with four people.

At this time, except for Wei Min, the other three were reading books, two of them leaning on the head of the bed, and one sitting opposite Wei Min.

When she looked up and saw Wei Min holding the letter in a daze, her classmate across from her couldn't help but touch her with his hand, lowered his voice and raised his eyebrows to ask her, "What's the good news? You're smiling even when you're in a daze."

When she asked this, Wei Min came back to his senses. At the same time, he caught a glimpse of the two people who were leaning against the bedside reading. Although they didn't turn their heads, they both pricked up their ears.

Wei Min suppressed the smile that appeared unconsciously on the corner of his mouth, folded the letter several times and put it in his arms, and replied to her with two words before getting up and leaving, "Good news."

The classmate became interested and wanted to pull Wei Min to ask what the good news was, but Wei Min didn't give her the chance and walked out.

Wei Min knew that the people in the room were more or less jealous of her because of her good grades. They didn't show it on the surface, but they were jealous of her in private. If she didn't put down her book and take a rest, the other three people would not go to bed first no matter how sleepy they were.

Now seeing the smile on her face and hearing her say it was a good thing, those three people might not even be able to read the book. As soon as they left, they would start to guess what the good news was.

Wei Min was not interested in telling them about his own affairs. After he stepped out of the door, he went straight to the house where the teachers lived.

Teachers are different from students. Each of them has a small courtyard and can bring their families to live with them.

If Wei Min wanted to go home, he naturally needed to ask for leave from his teacher.

Mrs. Wei is in her forties and has only one son. She got married last year and now lives in a small courtyard with her husband. When she had nothing to do on weekdays, she liked to fiddle with flowers and plants, so as soon as he entered the door, Wei Min saw her turning the soil in an empty flowerpot.

"Master." Wei Min raised his hand and knocked on the door.

Master Wei looked up and saw that it was her. Without stopping his work, he said with a smile, "I will soon finish turning the soil in this pot. Please sit on the bamboo chair and wait for me for a while."

Master Wei liked Wei Min very much and once thought of promising her son to her, but was stopped by her husband. However, this did not prevent her from admiring Wei Min.

Wei Min was not here to ask for advice, so he did not sit aside and wait for Master Wei to finish his work. Instead, he directly stated his purpose, "Master, I would like to ask for five days' leave."

Upon hearing this, Master Wei couldn't help but frowned. He stopped working and straightened up. He looked at Wei Min with concern and asked worriedly, "Did something happen at home?"

Wei Min is diligent and studious. If something hadn't happened at home, she would never have taken so many days off.

Wei Min shook his head and said, "My family arranged a marriage for me and asked me to go back." After all, he was still young, and Wei Min felt a little shy to bring up this matter in front of the elders who cared about him.

When Master Wei saw her red ears, he couldn't help but smile, patted the dirt off his hands, and said, "This is a good thing, a good thing, of course I will allow you to go back."

After asking Wei Min to wait for a moment, he went back to the house. After a while, he came out again with a basket in his hand. The basket was covered with a red cloth, but you could vaguely see that there were eggs inside.

"Master, I don't have anything else to give you. Your senior brother came to see me a few days ago and gave me two baskets of eggs. I'm giving you one basket today as a token of my appreciation. You can't think it's too little."

As he spoke, Master Wei stuffed the egg into Wei Min's hand.

Wei Min naturally couldn't accept this thing.

When Master Wei saw that she was being distant with him, he couldn't help but frown. Finally, Wei Min had no choice but to take the egg. He lowered his eyes and looked at the heavy basket in his hands, and didn't say anything for a long time.

Although this egg was not a rare thing for Wei Min, he could not eat it often on a daily basis.

If we were at home, when there were eggs, we would naturally give them to the little Wei Luo first. If she were in the academy, she would not be willing to pay extra for an egg.

Master Wei knew that Wei Min was not a good talker. If someone else had received the gift, he would not have been able to promise her that he would never forget her when he became successful in the future.

Master Wei had long been tired of hearing those sweet words. Even if Wei Min didn't say a word, she knew that this child was not a conscienceless person.

"Go back." Master Wei raised his hand and patted Wei Min's arm, deliberately saying with a stern face: "A gentle and soft husband is indeed tempting, but you can't fall into that gentle nest and forget your studies. When you come back, if I find that your studies have regressed, I will break your legs."

She said this every time, but Wei Min never gave her a chance to pick up the ruler.

Wei Min carried the basket and went back to the yard, where he casually packed some clothes.

It only takes an hour to walk from the county to the village. Wei Min did not have lunch in the academy, but went back directly.

Wei Lian knew that her sister would be back today, so she asked Sun to save some food for her.

After returning home, Wei Min ate his meal while listening to Sun talk about what her future husband looked like. Just listening to it, I ate an extra bowl of rice.

The author has something to say: Wei Min: The more I listen, the hungrier I get. I want to eat⊙▽⊙
