Chapter 63 Dinner

Master Wei's funeral was handled by Jingshan and Wei Min together, and he was buried in a place with good feng shui. Wei Min carried the coffin and personally saw his teacher off for the last time.

On the day of burial, Li lay on the coffin and was reluctant to leave, staring blankly at the person lying inside who would never wake up again. Her fingers stroked her face, which was so thin that her cheekbones were exposed, over and over again, and she shed silent tears.

His voice was almost hoarse, and he couldn't even cry. When the coffin was closed, Wei Xiao cried and pulled his arms. Li grabbed the sides of the coffin with his hands, sobbing and shaking his head and struggling. The broken sound that came out of his throat was helpless and desperate.

Wei Min looked at him and somehow thought of A Ruan. His heart suddenly ached. He stopped Wei Xiao and said in a hoarse voice, "Let Master accompany Teacher for a while."

Wei Xiao was so upset that she was speechless. Looking at Li who had never been so vulnerable before, she quickly turned her face away, nodded and wiped her tears.

Li cried until she had no more tears left. She straightened up reluctantly and tacitly allowed everyone to close the coffin.

On the day of the burial, there was a misty autumn rain floating in the sky, blurring everyone's vision and wetting many pairs of eyes.

Li's thin and skinny body stood slightly hunched in the autumn rain, almost tottering. He looked at the person he loved all his life buried in the ground, and felt that his heart and soul were buried with her.

The two were well matched and had never had a quarrel in their many years of marriage. She promised to be with him for the rest of her life, but now, before they were even gray-haired, she had left him.

Li's vision became increasingly blurred, and the scene in front of him was slowly swallowed by darkness. Before he fell down, he saw the half-buried coffin.

My dear wife, please wait a moment. I will come to find you in the near future.

"Dad? Dad, Dad!" Wei Xiao, who was kneeling on the ground, raised his voice from small to large. He watched with his own eyes as the person next to him swayed and fell down.

He was close, and he caught Li in his arms. His eyes turned red with anxiety, and he raised his head and called out to Jingshan in a hurry, "Wife, come and see what happened to my father?"

Wei Xiao's hands were shaking as he held Li's body. He was so frightened that his voice was trembling. "Dad, Dad, don't scare me. Mom just left. You can't get into any more trouble."

Jing Shan and Wei Min hurried over when they heard the noise. As a half-daughter, Jing Shan picked up Li and took Wei Xiao to find a doctor, while Wei Min stayed behind to take care of the rest.

The doctor that Wei Min had hired from the capital for his teacher was still living in the academy, so there was no need to go far to find another one.

When Wei Min came back after dealing with the things, Li had already fallen asleep. Wei Xiao was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at him worriedly, while Jing Shan was standing beside Wei Xiao, stroking his back silently to comfort him.

Jing Shan saw Wei Min first. Seeing her standing at the door of the inner room, he bent down and whispered to Wei Xiao, then walked towards her, "Thank you for what happened today, Senior Sister."

"It should be done." Wei Min looked at Li on the bed from a distance, frowned and asked, "How is the master? What does the doctor say?"

Jing Shan sighed and looked towards the house, his eyes full of worry, "I am depressed and overtired, my body is fine, but my heart...I am afraid it will take time to recover."

Wei Min remained silent. Although he was worried, he also knew that Li's heart was incurable and could only be overcome slowly by himself and let time ease the pain.

Jing Shan told Wei Min that he planned to let Wei Xiao bring his youngest son to live in the small courtyard for a while, to accompany Li for a while, and then bring him back to Jing Mansion when he was in better spirits, in order to prevent Li from staying here and refusing to leave right after Master Wei left.

This matter can only be done by her son Wei Xiao. Maybe Li can regain her spirits for the sake of him and the child.

But no matter what, the once dignified and generous person who looked like a twenty-year-old, no matter her spirit or appearance, I am afraid that she will never be able to return to her original state...

Wei Min did not return to the house until the evening. A'ruan had shown signs of catching a cold in the past two days, so she did not let him go over today.

Wei Min didn't know why, but the image of Li's silent struggle before the coffin was closed today had been deeply imprinted in her mind. Whenever she closed her eyes, all she could see were his dim, desperate eyes and hoarse, broken sobs.

"Where's A'ruan?" The first thing Wei Min did when he came back was to ask Shiba where her husband was.

Her tone was somewhat anxious, and Eighteen's heart inevitably jumped when he heard it. Not knowing what had happened, he said uncertainly: "In, in the kitchen. Sir, what's wrong?"

Wei Min waved his hand to indicate that it was okay, and strode towards the kitchen.

Wei Min looked a little pale and walked quickly. The evening wind blew her robe up behind her. The lanterns in the courtyard shone down from above, shining on her half-dark and half-bright face, which looked very scary.

Erjiu, who was helping in the kitchen, saw her coming from afar and was about to greet her with a smile, but when he got closer and saw her face clearly, he was so scared that he immediately shut his mouth, quietly retreated, and left the kitchen to the two of them.

Wei Min's footsteps were brisk, but they slowly stopped when he saw A'ruan busy behind him. His heart, which had been restless for the whole day, suddenly calmed down when he saw this familiar figure.

She stopped and just stood there quietly, watching the person dear to her heart working for her without blinking, feeling at ease and warm.

A Ruan likes to cook for Wei Min himself. When he was in the capital, he was the master and had servants in his mansion, so he seldom cooked. But now that he has returned to the small town and county, he is surrounded by familiar people and he does not need to be polite. Naturally, he takes care of things concerning Wei Min himself.

Ah Ruan guessed that Wei Min might not have much appetite after returning, so she did not prepare those greasy and meaty meals. Instead, she made a bowl of light boiled noodles, added a few vegetable leaves and a few drops of sesame oil.

The clear soup noodles are naturally bland, but the orange-yellow sesame oil spread by the hot soup and the plump and tender green vegetables make them look much more colorful. The aroma of sesame oil wafts from the bowl, smelling fragrant and appetizing.

After Ah Ruan served the noodles, she remembered that Wei Min had not come back yet. She couldn't help but shake her head and smile, laughing at herself for forgetting about it when she was so busy. He found a porcelain lid to cover the bowl, wiped his fingers on the apron around his waist, turned around and wanted to ask Erjiu's wife why she hadn't come back yet.

When A Ruan turned around, he didn't see Erjiu, but instead met the eyes of Wei Min, who was standing not far behind him without making any sound. Even though they had been each other's bedside for many years, he was still startled.

Ah Ruan exhaled, raised his hand and gently patted his chest, and gave her a look of lingering fear:

——Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back?

Wei Min took a few steps forward, pulled A Ruan into his arms, hugged him tightly, tilted his head to kiss his hair, and whispered, "I'm sorry, I scared you."

A Ruan was stunned by Wei Min's sudden hug. She subconsciously put her arms around her waist and shook her head belatedly.

——It’s okay. I’m not that scared actually.

Wei Min felt him shaking his head, and hummed softly, his arm still around A'ruan, and said nothing more.

A Ruan sensitively realized that his wife was worried about something. Considering that the master was buried today, she must be feeling very upset.

When A Ruan thought of his wife holding on in front of others and only daring to hug him for a moment of weakness when they got home, his heart immediately felt soft and painful. He patted her back gently, silently comforting her.

Wei Min hugged A Ruan for a long time before letting him go slightly. He lowered his head and asked, "Does your head hurt today? Are you still coughing?"

As he said this, he raised his hand and placed it on A'ruan's forehead. His expression and tone seemed to be no different from usual.

Ah Ruan breathed a sigh of relief, smiled and shook his head, raised his hand and gestured:

——It’s okay, I just coughed once or twice before, and I haven’t coughed since then.

Wei Min was relieved then. He lowered his head and caught a glimpse of A Ruan still wearing an apron. His hand uncontrollably rested on his hip and slowly slid back, untying the belt around his waist with skillful movements.

A Ruan looked down and saw that the apron on his body was in his wife's hands in an instant. He couldn't help but pursed his lips. Sure enough, when he looked up, he saw her staring at him with dark eyes. The flames of desire in her eyes jumped up and down, and her intentions were very obvious.

Ah Ruan felt helpless. He turned around and took away the porcelain lid, signaling Wei Min that the meal was ready. If he wanted to do anything, he could do it after the meal.

Wei Min lowered his eyes and looked at A'ruan's gentle eyes. He suddenly remembered Li's desperate and dim eyes. His throat tightened and his voice was a little hoarse. "I'm not hungry. I don't want to eat this."

Ah Ruan was naturally not stupid enough to ask her what she wanted to eat, so she pretended not to understand:

——Then I’ll make you something else.

Wei Min grabbed A'ruan's arm and easily pulled her back into his arms. He didn't beat around the bush and said directly, "A'ruan, I want you, right now, especially."

"Ah Ruan, are you okay?"

"A Ruan..."

Ah Ruan seemed to have lost all his temper after being yelled at by her. After she yelled at him three times, he raised his hand and nodded in compromise, agreeing. If she continued to call him in such a low voice, his heart would melt.

Wei Min succeeded. He bent down, picked up the man horizontally, and strode towards the main room.

The bowl of appetizing noodles in the kitchen was just left there, while A'ruan's apron was taken away by Wei Min.

The adults seemed to be very strange today. Erjiu and Shiba had been standing nervously in the backlight of the corridor, looking towards the kitchen. Now seeing Wei Min carrying A'ruan out, Shiba hurriedly turned Erjiu's face and forced his gaze to face himself.

Shi Ba Yi was so excited that she didn't know how to control her strength. Er Jiu's face was deformed by her hands. She raised her hand and slapped the back of her hand in dissatisfaction, and her mouth was pouted like a chicken and whimpering.

Eighteen's eyes seemed to be looking at Erjiu, but his peripheral vision was glancing at the two people who entered the house and closed the door. He disliked Erjiu's chattering and said with a frown, "If the adults find out that you peeked, she will punish you by making you clean the toilet."

Erjiu was so angry that he stepped on Shiba's instep. Eighteen felt the pain and cried out, then immediately covered his mouth with his hands and let go of Erjiu.

Erjiu raised his hand to rub his face, feeling the pain in his cheek, and punched Eighteen's shoulder.

He held his aching face in his hands and tilted his head to look into the main hall, but Eighteen pulled him back by the back of his shirt and asked him, "What are you looking at?"

Erjiu was a little worried, "I saw that the master was carried back by the adults." He thought of something and blushed. He secretly pulled Eighteen's sleeve and asked her in a low voice, "The adults and the master were in the kitchen just now..." It can't be over, right? So fast?

As soon as Eighteen saw Erjiu's expression, he knew what a mess he was thinking, and hurriedly stopped him from talking, so that he wouldn't think more. "I told you to read less storybooks, but you didn't listen. What are you thinking about every day?"

Where is the Erjiu who used to be shy for a long time just holding hands or kissing her?

Erjiu rolled his eyes and walked towards the kitchen.

Eighteen stared at his background in amazement, lowered his voice and asked in disbelief: "What are you doing there? Are you looking for some evidence?"

Erjiu wanted to take off his shoes and throw them on her face. He said angrily, "If you don't ask for the noodles, they will be boiled into lumps. If you don't eat them, I will feed them all to you!"

Shi Ba raised his hand to rub the tip of his nose awkwardly, then followed him to the kitchen in a flattering manner.

I'm afraid that the lord and the master won't come out for a while, so she can have a bowl of noodles first.

The author has something to say: Small theater

18: I just saw an adult holding an apron, can you guess what it is for? (smirk)

Erjiu: ... (blinks obediently) What are you talking about? I don’t understand you (Inner mind: Stupid, you must be playing apron play!!!!!)

18: Okay, I am the one who is dirty_(:зゝ∠)_
