Chapter 78: Grasping the Weekly

Wei Min didn't really feel the passing of time before, but after having children, she found that they always grow up very fast. If you are not careful, you will miss a lot. The only thing to be thankful for is that she can always be with them to witness it.

On the day when the two children turned one year old, A'ruan got up early and had someone put on new clothes for Wei Shu and Wei Miao.

Two similar-looking, delicate little dolls sat on the couch, looking as adorable as the little people in the New Year pictures.

As soon as Wei Miao saw A Ruan coming over, he immediately grinned and opened his arms towards him, babbling, very happy.

Wei Shu was on the couch, crawling around his brother. Seeing Wei Miao supporting his body with his arms, staggering and trying to stand up, he immediately raised his hands to hug his waist and threw him down on the couch.

Wei Miao hadn't reacted when he fell backwards, and he wasn't hurt. Seeing Wei Shu beside him, he thought his elder sister was playing with him, so he waved his short arms, curled his eyes and giggled.

The couch was covered with a thick blanket, which was very soft. When Ah Ruan saw the two of them making noises, she smiled and walked over to kiss them on the forehead one by one, preparing to carry them out for the "Zhuazhou" ceremony.

Wei Min came in from outside and asked him, "Are you ready?"

Seeing A'ruan nod, Wei Min came to the couch, raised her hand and lifted up Wei Shu, who was crawling onto the couch when he saw her coming.

Wei Shu's two short legs hanging in the air kicked reluctantly, and he looked at A'ruan eagerly.

A Ruan smiled at her, raised her hand and pinched her smooth face soothingly, then turned around and picked up Wei Miao, who was lying on the bed babbling something.

When the two children were young, Wei Min held Wei Miao most of the time, but when they were older, Wei Min started holding Wei Shu.

Wei Min placed his daughter in his arms, and when he saw A Ruan walk ahead, he said, "You are heavy, your father can't carry you."

Wei Shu bit his fingers in grievance and dared not say a word. Xiaoxiao was very depressed and confused. Why could she hold the baby yesterday but not today?

Wei Min brought the two children out and placed them on the floor covered with a wool blanket. Various things were placed around the children for them to grab later.

Wei Miao sat on the ground with a dazed look on his face, blinking at A Ruan with his big, ignorant eyes. When he noticed Wei Min was beside them, he raised his head and stretched out his arms to hug her.

Wei Shu grabbed the corner of his brother's clothes with his little hands and looked around curiously.

Feng Yu also came, bringing his six-month-old son Jiang Xinli with him.

A'ruan came over and teased A'li, then picked him up and put them on the blanket together.

After Wei Min said he could be arrested, Wei Shu let go of Wei Miao and stumbled towards a brush washer nearby where the sky and water merged into one.

Jiang Xinli was sitting next to the pen washer, curiously watching Wei Shu staggering towards her. He raised his head and looked at her without blinking with his big black and white eyes, very well-behaved.

It took Wei Shu a lot of effort to walk this short distance. When she reached the brush washer and was about to bend down to take it, she saw Jiang Xinli stretching out his little fleshy hand towards her, grabbing the air at her, looking at her with sparkling eyes.

The three children often met and were used to playing together. When Jiang Xinli saw Wei Shu coming, he thought he was playing with him.

The three adults watched this scene with great interest. No one said anything. They just wanted to see how Wei Shu, who was only one year old, would choose between his bamboo horse and the brush washer.

Wei Shu wrinkled her face as she struggled, wanting to have both, but she could only hug one of them.

Jiang Xinli stretched his hands for a long time, his arms were tired, but when he saw that Wei Shu was reluctant to hold his hand, he could not help but pursed his lips and looked back at Feng Yu helplessly. His eyes were full of aggrieved, but he did not cry.

Feng Yu didn't say anything, but just looked at him gently.

Jiang Xinli wrinkled his nose, withdrew his hand, and lowered his head to pick at the tiger-toe shoes on his feet.

A Ruan felt sorry for his daughter's obedience, but it was not easy for her to interfere with her daughter's choice. She could only hold her hands silently and continue watching.

Wei Shu bent down and picked up the brush washer that she had taken a fancy to with great effort. He narrowed his eyes slightly and smiled happily.

A Ruan sighed silently, and looked up at Wei Min hesitantly. Was the marriage he arranged for the two children a mistake?

Wei Min raised his hand and put it around A'ruan's shoulders, signaling him to take another look and not jump to conclusions.

Wei Shu picked up the brush washer, and her already unstable body was so exhausted that she sat down on the ground. She sat facing Jiang Xinli, reached out her hand and took the brush washer in her arms, and with a silly smile, pushed it in front of him, against the tip of his shoe.

Jiang Xinli looked at the pen washer blankly and raised his head in confusion.

Wei Shu came over, crawled to sit next to Jiang Xinli, took his hand and placed it on the brush washer. It was as if it was specially brought over and given to him.

The two children, who had no idea what to do with being angry, stretched out their four chubby little hands, touched the pen washer curiously, and giggled.

When A Ruan saw this, a smile appeared in her eyes. She turned her head and looked at Feng Yu. They both breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at each other.

Wei Shu had already chosen the things, but Wei Miao was still looking down and pinching his own hands. He sat there without crying or making any noise, quietly entertaining himself.

Wei Min half squatted down and said softly, "Miao Miao, your sister has chosen the things. What do you like? Bring it to your father to see."

Wei Miao finally came back to his senses and looked at Wei Min in confusion. Wei Min broke the words down and said them again, and only then did he understand.

Wei Miao stood up unsteadily, his steps were unsteady, he stumbled, bit his fingers, looked here and there, never showing any intention of bending down.

Ah Ruan had no idea what he was thinking about, and asked Erjiu to bring over a plate of snacks.

Wei Min frowned slightly but did not say anything to stop him.

The snacks were placed behind Wei Miao, but he seemed to have eyes on the back of his head. He turned around slowly and walked towards the plate of snacks.

A Ruan knew her son well. He loved sweet things, which was completely different from his mother.

Sure enough, Wei Miao reached out and picked up the pastry, looked at Wei Min, and smiled at her.

Wei Min glanced at A Ruan, who pretended not to see it and bent down to catch Wei Miao, who stumbled all the way and fell into his arms.

Wei Miao held the pastry, but instead of putting it into his own mouth, he handed it to A Ruan with a smile, motioning for him to eat it.

Wei Min lowered his eyes, hiding the tender smile in his eyes, and raised his hand to touch Wei Miao's head.

Well, choosing pastries at least means a sweet and worry-free life in the future.

As long as she is there, she can always protect Miaomiao. If she and A'ruan are gone a hundred years later... doesn't there still exist Wei Shu who has chosen the path of official career?

The author has something to say: Jiang Xinli: You didn’t even hold my hand, I guess you don’t want a husband anymore╯^╰

Wei Shu: _(:зゝ∠)_
