Chapter 60: Chocolate, Can’t Eat

Tao Wenwen vowed to use the gauze to tie the medicine tightly around Gao Yue's eyes, then held the bowl in which he had finished drinking the medicine and left the room.

It was already dark, and Wang Xiaomin and Shi Qingyuan, who had been gone all day, had not returned yet.

Tao Wenwen sat idly on the steps at the door, looking at the gate of the yard, eagerly waiting.

However, even when the moon climbed high in the sky and the whole world seemed to be asleep and plunged into silence, their figures still did not appear.

She remembered one of the unpleasant words Li Lian'e and Sun Wenyan had said when they were making trouble yesterday.

"Your mother won't want you anymore after she gets married. She'll have new children and a new home. If your last name is Tao, you'll always be a burden!"

Tao Wenwen held her chin and thought, in her previous life, she had the miraculous ability to bring people back to life, but that didn't satisfy her grandfather, parents, and now she was useless and was considered a lunatic and a fool.

Wang Xiaomin really abandoned her, right?

When Tao Wenwen thought of this, she became completely depressed. She leaned softly against the door, pursed her lips, frowned, and tears appeared in her eyes.

“Boom!”

At this moment, there was a sudden flash of lightning and thunder in the sky.

Tao Wenwen screamed, hugged her head tightly, and curled up into a ball on the threshold.

The oil lamp in the house was also blown out by the wind. The only sound in my ears was the howling of the wind, which sounded like ghosts and wolves howling in the dead silent night.

Tao Wenwen couldn't see anything. It was pitch black in front of him. Amidst the lightning and thunder, he seemed to see a figure.

He was wearing a pure white coat, holding a scalpel in his hand, with a kind smile on his face, and shiny black leather shoes on his feet. He walked on the smooth floor of the hospital, making a heavy and slow "thump thump" sound of footsteps.

The man with a kind smile approached her step by step, speaking softly and pleasantly, "Wenwen, it won't hurt at all. It will only take ten minutes. When you're better, I'll take you to eat ice cream."

"Really?" She smiled happily, her eyes turning into crescents. She glanced out the window at the thunder and lightning and said, "Dad, I don't want ice cream. I want chocolate!"

"Okay, I'll buy you two pieces of chocolate, okay?" The man finally walked to her side, carried her onto the operating table, and tied her hands and feet.

"Dad, why are you tying my hands and feet?" She finally felt scared and struggled to get up, but the man had already raised the needle and injected it into her body.

She screamed and shouted, and finally lost her strength and watched helplessly as the man raised the knife again.

The sharp knife slowly cut open his stomach...

“Boom!”

Another flash of lightning and thunder struck.

Tao Wenwen felt a sharp pain in her stomach, which made her tremble all over.

"Wenwen!"

Suddenly, there was a sound behind him, and a hand was placed on Tao Wenwen's shoulder.

Tao Wenwen was so frightened that he collapsed to the ground.

"Wenwen?"

Gao Yue followed Tao Wenwen's scream and groped his way to where she was. As soon as he put his hand on her body, he was stunned.

Despite the July weather, Tao Wenwen was shivering from the cold.

"What's wrong?" Gao Yue asked, holding her shoulders.

Tao Wenwen grabbed Gao Yue's clothes tightly as if she had grabbed a life-saving straw.

But she kept her lips pursed, said nothing, and just moved her body as close to him as possible.

Gao Yue sensed her intention and held her tightly in his arms.
