In Ning Shou Palace, the Empress Dowager was just about to lie down for a while when she heard a maid report that the Emperor had arrived with his sons and daughters. Her head immediately throbbed.

Kangxi sat to one side and waited until the three of them finished their intimate moment before saying, "Empress Dowager, I have brought Jiaojiao's two nephews over. They are currently in the Qianqing Palace for lunch. You may also go there."
The Empress Dowager looked at him with suspicion, knowing that he had come to see her about something, not to deliver the child.
"Okay, sure."
Kangxi summoned Li Dequan and asked him to take Bao Bao and Bei Bei out to play for a while. Once only the two of them were left in the room, he continued, "Empress, Xiao Wu is all grown up now. Do you think we should find a child you trust from Korchi's place to come and keep him company?"
"You want to find him the Haha Beads?"
The Empress Dowager was somewhat shocked. Could it be that Kangxi wanted the sons of the two leaders to be Xiao Jiu's lucky beads?
