Chapter 168 Nickname

After speaking, Harigana patted his cheeks, trying to clear his head.

Kangxi's heart was filled with love, and his gaze towards her became increasingly tender.

He called Li Dequan over, served the two of them some snacks and tea, and prepared to chat for a while.

This was the first time in Kangxi's life, except when he was sick, that he ate while sitting on his bed. He found it quite unusual!

"Xuan Ye, have you thought about what to name these two little ones?"

Harigana pointed to her belly. She had thought of many names, but she didn't know how to use them, so she could only think of a nickname!

How could Emperor Kangxi not have thought about it? Not only did he think about it, he thought about it a lot.

"Jiaojiao, I've thought of many names, but my favorite is Yinfu. I hope he'll be free from illness and disaster, and live a peaceful and healthy life. For a girl, I'll name her Bayalige, hoping she'll be wealthy her whole life and never have to depend on anyone."

Harigana nodded, indicating that the character "胤" (Yin) was certain. As for the following characters, she was fine as long as they weren't characters she had heard of in her previous life. She couldn't accept a name she had seen in history books becoming her child's name.

"Xuan Ye, may I give them nicknames?"

Emperor Kangxi already knew that Harigana was interested in this matter.

Previously, I saw her writing something mysteriously in the study. Driven by curiosity, I secretly went over to take a look while she was sleeping. The names on the paper almost made me question my existence.

It was because I knew the names she had written that I hadn't told her about it.

Otherwise, given Kangxi's personality, how could he possibly have kept quiet and remained silent?

I originally intended to postpone it as long as possible, but I never expected to end up talking about this topic on New Year's Eve.

He now regrets it a little. If it were any other time, he would have talked to Harigana and suggested a more spirited nickname so that the child could be raised more easily.

But it was New Year's Eve, and he couldn't afford to upset Harigana, so he reluctantly agreed.

"Okay! What's the name?"

Kangxi thought to himself, "If I ever don't like your childhood nicknames, please don't blame your father. After all, your mother's happiness is the most important thing!"

"Baby and Beibei! Together they make a treasure!"

After Harigana finished speaking, he looked at Kangxi and thought that the name he had chosen was very nice, and wanted to get his praise!

Emperor Kangxi readily agreed: "Jiaojiao, it sounds lovely! We'll go with these two names, as you wish!"

"Okay! It's decided then!"

The two of them tacitly agreed not to doubt the gender of the child, and always assumed that it was a boy and a girl, so they named them a boy and a girl respectively.

Once she decided on the children's nicknames, her sleepiness vanished instantly, and she even felt a little excited.

However, she suddenly thought of something that she shouldn't have said, but a trace of pity still welled up in her heart.

It can't be said to be out of compassion; perhaps it was also because Kangxi would be happy to hear it!

"Xuan Ye, do you want to go see Yinreng?"

Yinreng was different from the others; all the other children had their own mothers, but Yinreng did not.

She didn't usually care how Yinreng and Kangxi got along, but on a day like today, he probably hoped his father would be with him.

When she was hospitalized, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, she watched others reunite with their families, while she watched the fireworks outside the window alone. The feeling in her heart was indescribably painful!

Moreover, as Hu Mama had mentioned, on previous New Year's Eves, the Emperor would visit the Crown Prince and spend some time with him.

Looking back now, he must have been thinking about it, after all, it was a child he raised single-handedly.

Kangxi did not expect Harigana to say this. In fact, he had already asked Li Dequan to tell Yinreng a long time ago, but he was still a little worried about it!

No matter how badly he did, on such a special day, he would still think of how the two of them had spent the New Year in the Qianqing Palace.

"Jiaojiao!"

Harigana immediately covered his mouth, stopping him from saying anything more. She didn't want to hear anything touching; she had her own ulterior motives.

"Stop! Hurry up and go. The Crown Prince is young. If you don't go quickly, he might fall asleep soon!" After saying that, he called Li Dequan and Du Lan in.

The two were chatting happily outside when they heard the shout and both looked puzzled.

"Your Majesty!"

"Li Dequan, help the Emperor change his clothes. Make sure the cloak is thick, and bring a few more eunuchs to hold the lanterns." After saying this, Harigana looked at Dulan: "Dulan, go to the small kitchen and pack some of the pastries you made earlier. Tell Granny Hu to go with the Emperor to see the Crown Prince!"

Li Dequan and Dulan were both stunned for a moment, but they quickly recovered. Dulan turned around and went out to call Granny Hu, while Li Dequan had already taken Kangxi's dragon robe and was waiting to change!

[This guy is truly remarkable! These days, everyone wants to have the Emperor's attention, yet he's actually getting the Emperor to visit the Crown Prince. No wonder he's favored; he really knows how to consider the Emperor's feelings!] Li Dequan thought to himself, after all, he was the one who knew the relationship between the Crown Prince and the Emperor best!

"Jiaojiao, I'll be back soon!"

Kangxi looked at Harigana and was deeply moved. He felt that Harigana really liked him.

"Okay, no rush! Take your time! I'll wait for you to come back! I'll have Dulan and the others keep me company, so I won't be bored!"

After speaking, Harigana smiled at her, and knowing that Li Dequan was there, he silently said, "I like you!" This made Kangxi want to go up and kiss her.

Fortunately, I still had some sense and didn't do that.

After he left, Harigana called Dulan and the others in, not only to chat, but also to give them red envelopes.

She definitely won't be able to get up that early tomorrow, so it's better to just give it to them now, since we have time now!
