Chapter 6 The Doctoral Student Who Betrayed His Country

"What a pity," An Jingzhi said suddenly, "I can't send the money back at all."

"Professor Yang, are your family willing to accept your money? They are really understanding. My grandmother and mother are too stubborn."

After An Jingzhi finished speaking, he observed the other person's emotions without moving his eyes.

After hearing his shameless words, Yang Ting'an wanted to jump up and slap him.

His fists tightened and unclenched again. He should have agreed with the other party, but he really couldn't say it, so he could only say "hmm" coldly.

An Jingzhi had an answer in his mind, and he found a place to sit down as if he was familiar with the place.

"Professor Yang, to be honest, I've actually been wanting to come here for a long time."

"Now all Chinese people cannot understand me, only you can understand me."

Yang Tinghe: I really want to strangle you to death. Who understands you?!

"Yeah." He kept a straight face and was still very frugal with his words.

"Professor Yang, why don't you bring your family here? They're all willing to accept your money and will definitely understand your difficulties."

“It’s hard to leave your hometown.”

"That's right. It's hard for older people to leave the land they grew up on."

The two asked and answered each other, and no matter what An Jingzhi asked, Yang Tingan could always end the topic.

An Jingzhi didn't care. He looked around and suddenly asked, "Professor Yang, can I go to your study?"

Yang Ting'an suddenly became alert. The study was filled with information that he had memorized and copied onto paper. If the other party suddenly went in now, he would definitely be discovered.

"Not suitable."

"What's inappropriate?" An Jingzhi suddenly realized, "I understand. Are you afraid of the information being leaked?"

"It's okay. We're from the same research institute and I have access to that information. Besides, a lot of the key information there was provided by me, so you don't have to worry about it."

Yang Ting'an said angrily in his heart: It is because you provided those key information that the enemy has grown stronger!

He took a deep breath, calmed himself down, and wanted to refuse again, but he didn't know what reason to use.

An Jingzhi, however, was very considerate and took the initiative to say, "Perhaps there are some other conjectures or papers of yours in there. If you don't want to show them to me, you can go and pack them up now."

Yang Ting'an rarely spoke a few words. "There's nothing particularly important here. It's a bit messy and not convenient for viewing. Wait a moment, I'll clean it up."

After saying that, he stood up and went to his study. After closing the door gently, he did not leave. Instead, he stood there and listened carefully outside. After confirming that there were no approaching footsteps, he secretly opened the door a little.

Seeing that An Jingzhi was still sitting on the sofa, he gently closed the door again and locked it.

Only after he had put away all the information he had recorded on the table did he go out again and invite An Jingzhi into the study.

An Jingzhi strode into the study room with an unassuming look and looked around.

Yang Ting'an's study is very simple. Except for the door, the other three sides are filled with books and materials.

Yang Ting'an followed him closely.

An Jingzhi casually pulled out a book, flipped through it briefly, and then put it back. He turned to Yang Tingan and said, "Professor Yang, you have so many books in your study."

"Um."

After staying for a while and chatting for a few more words, he got up and said goodbye.

Before leaving, An Jingzhi gave Yang Ting'an an invitation.

Jonah originally promised An Jingzhi that he could return home after the project was completed.

After the project was completed, An Jingzhi immediately raised this issue, but Jonah evaded the issue by saying other things.

Finally, An Jingzhi suggested that he could not return to China, but he wanted to see his old friends and teachers.

Jonah reported the matter and finally decided to let An Jingzhi meet with his former friends and teachers in the name of academic discussion, but the location could only be in the United States.

What An Jingzhi didn't know was that Jonah also wanted to send An Jingzhi's mother and grandmother over.

But he was shot by his vigilant grandmother and is now imprisoned in a Chinese prison.

Yang Ting'an knew about this academic exchange and that the whole school was discussing it. He was just a little puzzled as to why the other party invited him out of the blue.

Could it be because he is the same as the other party, also a "traitor"?

An Jingzhi seemed to be just randomly picking up books and flipping through them in Yang Ting'an's study, but in fact, he had specific considerations for each book he picked up.

Many of the books in it are very suitable for use as code books.

When he was in the laboratory before, he found that Yang Ting'an seemed to like reading materials very much.

When the two were chatting just now, he picked up a book at random and deliberately read a passage incorrectly. The book was very thick and not an academic book, but the other party could point out his problem easily.

He tried several more times before confirming that Yang Ting'an seemed to have a photographic memory.

This makes sense, so the other party had been looking at that information for the purpose of memorizing it.

As for why he had to send these words, it was of course to send them back to his country.

The most important thing is that before this, Yang Ting'an had never revealed this ability of his. If An Jingzhi had not been good at guiding him, Yang Ting'an would probably not have been discovered by him.

After receiving the invitation for academic exchange in China, everyone looked unhappy.

Who would be happy if the students you taught are now going to a hostile country to make contributions?

"What on earth does he want to do? How dare he even see us?"

"Are you sure that the initiator of this academic exchange is An Jingzhi?"

"It's been confirmed. It seems that An Jingzhi wanted to return to China to take a look, but they refused. Then they compromised and agreed to this solution."
