Chapter 8 The Doctoral Student Who Betrayed His Country

Jonah advised, "This problem is easy to solve. You usually work on the second floor, so why not just let the maid stay on the first floor?"

"No!" An Jingzhi said disdainfully, "Outsiders are just outsiders after all." He turned around, as if suddenly realizing something, and said in shock, "Do you think I'm too much trouble? Don't you want to help me wash the dishes?"

"How could that be? You're my best friend." There's no one in the world more troublesome than you! You bastard!

On the surface, he smiled sincerely: "I knew it, Jonah, I was right about you."

"But what you just said really made me sad."

"To show your sincerity, will you wash the dishes now?"

"Now?" Jonah pointed at himself with his mouth open. "Should I wash it?"

"Yes, that's you."

"Could it be that everything you just said was a lie? You don't want to?"

Faced with An Jingzhi's persuasive questioning, Jonah wanted to give him a volley of bullets.

"No," he said, holding his breath and laughing, "Of course I do, my friend."

kitchen.

Jonah placed all the bowls in the sink.

I stared at the pile of dirty dishes in front of me, feeling at a loss as to where to start.

"Jonah, aren't we starting yet?" An Jingzhi urged, standing at the kitchen door with his arms folded.

"It just started." Jonah responded, recalling how the maid at home washed dishes, imitating him as he recalled.

“Bang!”

The dishes in his hands slipped from his hands and fell to the ground.

"You should use less detergent. Who told you to wash a dish with just a squeeze of detergent? What a waste!" An Jingzhi commanded with disdain.

"Luckily it wasn't my plate. Remember to clean up the broken pieces on the floor. If you had scratched my foot, I would have never forgiven you."

Jonah was already sweating profusely as soon as he started.

"You can't keep the water running all the time. You're wasting water, and I pay for it myself!"

"Be gentle, don't break it again. Are you washing the dishes or breaking them?"

“Wash chopsticks separately!”

An Jingzhi kept muttering behind Jonah's back, and Jonah had to do more and more work.

Finally he couldn't bear it anymore.

He turned around, suppressed his anger, and said patiently, "An, I can handle it. Believe me, what you need to do now is to go back and wait."

An Jingzhi turned around and stopped again, looking back at him worriedly, "Are you sure you can handle it yourself?"

Jonah swore he had never made such a sincere promise.

"I swear to God, I can do it myself!"

He had never felt that An Jingzhi was so noisy. The other party's words behind him were like thousands of ducks quacking!

The quarrel made him feel overwhelmed, but he couldn't blame the other party.

Only after An Jingzhi turned and left did he breathe a sigh of relief and continue working. The more he thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt.

When had he, a secret agent, ever done such a thing?

He would rather capture spies and send them to the battlefield than face the difficult An Jingzhi.

But he also desperately understood that the boss would definitely not let him leave.

After returning to his study, An Jingzhi made a phone call and called Yang Tingan over while Jonah was washing dishes.

He discovered a pattern: as long as Jonah was at his house, the number of people watching outside would be reduced by more than half.

Every time he went to see Yang Ting'an, on the surface no one followed him, but he was still keenly aware of people in the dark.

After receiving An Jingzhi's invitation to discuss an academic problem with him, Yang Ting'an hesitated for a while but decided to accept the appointment.

An Jingzhi saw Yang Tingan from a distance through the window. When the other party approached but did not knock on the door, he took the initiative to open the door.

Without waiting for the other party to exchange a few words, he hurriedly pulled the person into the study.

The two asked and answered each other.

The atmosphere was quite harmonious, but Yang Ting'an felt a little strange. Logically, he should have the answers to the questions asked by the other party, right?

Why do you have to find him and ask him?

Is it really possible that he doesn’t know how to do it?

That shouldn't be the case. Although the other person is younger than him, he can see clearly in the laboratory that An Jingzhi is a talented scientist.

Especially in recent months, progress seems to be particularly rapid.

After asking his own question, An Jingzhi seemed to react belatedly. He slapped his forehead and said he would go downstairs to pour water for the other person.

Yang Ting'an was about to refuse, but when he thought of his mission, he stopped talking.

There should be a lot of top-secret information in An Jingzhi's study, right?

He saw An Jingzhi close the door with his own eyes and heard the other party's footsteps coming down the stairs.

Out of the corner of my eye I noticed the half-drawn curtains, confirming that no one outside could see what he was doing inside.

He opened the door carefully and quietly, and looked out through the crack.

After confirming that there was no one around, he tiptoed and began to look through the various documents on An Jingzhi's desk, drawers, and bookshelf.

I searched for a while but couldn't find it.

He casually glanced at the table and was stunned. He thought that the very important top-secret information was placed so casually on the other person's table.

Without thinking too much, I picked up the stack of information and quickly looked through it.

An Jingzhi sat in the living room downstairs for a while, not in a hurry.

When he felt the time was almost up, he slowly brought up two glasses of water.

Before leaving, he said, "There are some cups in the living room. Remember to wash them for me later. I'm going to the study first. Come up to me when you're done."

"Got it!" Jonah was busy in the kitchen with a grim look on his face.
