Chapter 179 Jiang City (1)

Gu Ting paused, thinking of Shen Qing's mother and grandfather, and spoke after a second or two, "Well, did you bring the calming incense?"

"I brought it." Shen Qing touched the small box in her bag, squinted her eyes and leaned back in her chair.

"My dear."

"Speak human language."

Gu Ting was stunned for a moment, then chuckled softly, "Classmate Shen Qing, do you want to video chat tonight?"

Shen Qing rubbed his temples and said, "Refuse, I have something important to do."

After hearing Shen Qing's explanation, Gu Ting was in a good mood, "Well, let's play again tomorrow. You should pay attention to rest and don't be busy too late."

"So long-winded." Shen Qing complained and hung up the phone with one hand.

"Eh..." Gu Ting wanted to say a few more words, but the other party had already hung up.

Eleven stood aside and waited for Gu Ting to put down his phone before speaking, "Master, Master Cheng is back and sitting downstairs."

Gu Ting stood up and said, "Yeah." Then he strode out of the room.

In the reception room on the first floor, a young man with dazzling blond hair was sitting with his legs crossed, typing on his computer.

"Oh, you're here." Dongfang Cheng glanced at Gu Ting, his face showing a rare seriousness.

"Well, how is it?" Gu Ting sat down on Shafa opposite Dongfang Cheng.

Dongfang Cheng closed his computer. "Wu Xie has already procured the necessary materials, and has contacted the engineer. There's a Dr. Zeng in the medical group. You've heard of him, right? He's on the list, too."

"Is he the one who developed the smart purifier?"

Dongfang Cheng nodded, "That's right."

"Okay, I'll leave this matter to you."

"Huh? I'm alone? Then why are you going?"

Gu Ting stood up from the sofa and glanced at Dongfang Cheng. "Let's go to the casino."

As he spoke, he had already walked out the door.

As the sky gradually darkened, Shen Qing got out of the taxi. The temperature in Jiang City was lower than that in Fancheng. The cold wind at night seemed to blow into people's bones. Shen Qing couldn't help but pull his down jacket closer.

The old and dilapidated streetlights were no longer working. Shen Qing walked through the dark alley. Occasionally, a cat's meow could be heard on the road. The sound was miserable. When he walked out of the alley, he began to see a light not far away. It was the light from the residential building.

There is no nightlife in the small town. Everyone finishes dinner around five or six o'clock and goes to bed when it gets dark.

Shen Qing walked into a building and could still hear the sound of the neighbor's TV in the corridor.

"Eh? Is that Qingqing?" Shen Qing had just stopped in front of a door when the door next door opened from the inside. A woman in her sixties came out with a hunched back to throw away the garbage.

"Grandma Zhong, long time no see." Shen Qing smiled and greeted the old woman.

Grandma Zhong put the garbage bag at the door, raised her head and looked at Shen Qing carefully, "It's been a long time since we last met. How are you doing in the big city? You look a little fatter than before, and Qingqing is getting more and more beautiful."

"It's okay." Shen Qing smiled and nodded.

"Huh? Didn't Zhongyi come back with you for the New Year?" In Grandma Zhong's impression, Zhongyi had been following Shen Qing since he was a child.

"His school doesn't have holidays."

"Oh, Qingqing, have you eaten? Grandma will cook you a bowl of noodles." After saying that, Grandma Zhong went to pull someone into the house.

Shen Qing didn't hesitate, just said thank you and went in.

"Hey, kid, why are you saying thank you?" Grandma Zhong brought the cooked noodles to the table with a beautiful poached egg on top.

"Eat it while it's hot, but be careful not to burn your tongue."

“Yeah.” Shen Qing took off the bag on his shoulder, put it aside, picked up the chopsticks and started eating noodles.

Grandma Zhong looked at her for a while and said, "Qingqing, your house has been uninhabited for so long, and it's not clean. Why don't you stay at my place today?"

"No, thank you, grandma." Shen Qing smiled at her, finished the last bite of noodles, then put down the bowl and prepared to go to the kitchen to wash it.

"Hey! Let me wash it. You must be tired after coming back from outside. Go to bed early."

"Okay, grandma, I'll go back first."

Grandma Zhong nodded, sent the person to the door, and stuffed two bottles of milk into Shen Qing’s hands.

Shen Qing put the milk into her bag. She had lost her house key long ago. She took a long, thin hairpin from her head, inserted it into the keyhole, twisted it, and the door opened.

The house was not big, with three bedrooms and a living room. Shen Qing walked into his room, took out new sheets and quilt covers from the cabinet and put them on, then walked into the living room, boiled a pot of hot water, and went into the study, which had the largest space, with only an inkstone on the desk.
