Chapter 24 I fell into a cesspool

Cheng Keke wasn't some soft-hearted saint; she was someone who had survived the power struggles of ancient mansions. Even if she seemed weak, she had lived through over a decade of such intrigue. How could she possibly let her off so easily?

Cheng Ke fried a bowl of eggs and added a slow-acting laxative. She made it herself. The amount she added wouldn't kill anyone, but it would make an adult man dehydrated. If the amount was divided among three people, it would still be enough to make a young man dehydrated.

While Fu Yao was at work during the day, she placed the eggs on the windowsill and went for a nap. Sure enough, when she woke up, the eggs were gone. There was no need to guess; the three Wang brothers had definitely eaten them all.

As people were leaving get off work in the evening, when the compound entrance was busiest, a weak cry for help suddenly came from the toilet. Everyone rushed over and found that two of the three brothers had fallen into the toilet, and the third was stuck.

Fortunately, it wasn't winter yet, and the latrine had already been emptied once. It wasn't deep, and luckily, the two children's heads were still sticking out.

The crowd quickly grabbed sticks to pull them up, but the two seemed to have no strength and couldn't be pulled up at all. They didn't have the courage to go down and rescue the person, mainly because there was no danger to their lives, and they could wait for their parents to come and rescue them.

After a while, Old Lady Wang finally came out. When she saw her two precious grandsons in the cesspool, she almost couldn't catch her breath. In her anxiety, she forgot to pretend to be gentle and even started to speak recklessly.

“My dear Jiabao, Laibao, what are you doing? Quickly save my grandson! How can you be so heartless and cold-blooded, just watching like this?”

The people who had been helping to pull the load immediately felt uncomfortable, and some even considered throwing the load away and quitting.

Fu Yao also saw the situation and, recalling how those men had bullied his wife, noticed Qin Fen inside who wasn't at the front. His eyes flickered, and he secretly walked up to the anxious Qin Fen, lowering his voice to say, "Aren't you going to save them? They're your sister Meifen's lifeline. If something happens to them, how will your sister Meifen live?"

Something seemed to jolt Qin Fen awake. When he saw Wang Meifen desperately trying to squeeze in after hearing her mother-in-law's wailing, and when he saw the two children growing weaker and weaker, Qin Fen jumped in without thinking, splashing up a spray of excrement.

"Holy crap!" Everyone was stunned by this scene.

The unluckiest people were the ones who rescued the people earlier; they all got splattered with excrement.

"Jiabao, Laibao, don't be afraid, Uncle is here to save you." After saying that, he tied a rope around his waist and pulled them up one by one.

When the three people were pulled out, even though the weather was already a bit chilly, the courtyard was still filled with an indescribable aroma.

When Granny Wang wanted to take her grandson to wash up, everyone in the courtyard refused, insisting that he must be thoroughly cleaned before being allowed in. They reasoned that if he did, they would simply wash him in the courtyard, which would be incredibly dirty and smelly!

Everyone is eager to help, but now that coal briquettes are precious, no one is willing to use hot water to rinse them. Instead, they are given buckets of cold water to pour over them from head to toe, chilling them to the bone.

Originally, Liu Yun would go to the compound first every day before going to Yu's house, but today when she rode her bicycle to the gate of the compound, she saw that the toilet was crowded with people, smelled the wonderful smell in the air, and thought of the plot. She quickly turned around and headed to Yu's house without looking back.

Yu Qianhe wasn't so lucky. Unaware of the plot, he smelled the odor in the air and, seeing the large crowd, didn't think much of it and walked straight in. There he saw a group of three people—one adult and two children—standing in the sun. Reason told him he should leave. But curiosity compelled him to keep going, and he watched the entire performance. Afterward, he vomited on the roadside.

And so, this scene unfolded at the Yu family home: everyone was eating heartily, but Yu Qianhe was standing to the side, frowning and not eating a single bite. Don't ask why; all he could think about was the image of those three Mi Gong people, and the sight of food made him nauseous.

Yu's parents were puzzled as to why their son wasn't eating. Yu Qianhe told them not to worry about it. After dinner, Yu Qianhe recounted what he had witnessed that day, along with some rumors.

Liu Yun couldn't hold it in any longer; her stomach hurt from laughing. Luckily, she didn't go back. However, this was the first time she had ever seen Yu Qian look so frustrated. Usually, he seemed calm and composed no matter what happened. Oh! Except when she was pregnant and giving birth, but now there was one more thing.

Mother Yu also recalled the gossip and scandals that had plagued their compound in her previous life. To be honest, their compound was truly a place where all sorts of talented people emerged, and it was incredibly lively.

Even Yu's father listened with great interest.

Just one night later, the rumors circulating among the workers from last night had spread from the machinery factory's residential compound to Liu Yun's office. Many people knew where Liu Yun lived and came to inquire about her whereabouts. Liu Yun could only say that she didn't know and hadn't gone home yesterday. So, everyone went off to share their own information.

The topic of the Mi Gong people in the machinery factory's residential compound remained popular until the Chinese New Year, which was something Liu Yun hadn't expected. He hadn't anticipated that the female lead, who seemed like a pushover, would strike with deadly precision.

This year, three small dumplings were added for the Lunar New Year, and Liu Yun finally got her red envelope money back.

On the second day of the Lunar New Year, Liu Yun and her family of five walked towards the Liu family home. When they arrived, Liu Jing had already arrived.

Because there were too many children in the family, Liu's mother simply laid out two straw mats on the living room floor and then covered them with a quilt. Seven children crawled on them, so Liu Yun also put her three little ones on top of them.

Unexpectedly, in just three years, the Liu family has gained ten more little ones. She wouldn't have dared to imagine this when she first transmigrated.
