Chapter 27 Going Down into the Cigarette Pit Again

We workers have power...

As the usual end-of-get off work song played, people were gradually leaving the machine factory. But wait! What was the meaning of Widow Wang standing at the door?

As soon as Qin Fen returned to the tenement, Widow Wang began to complain.

Qin Fen, true to his reputation as a master of romance, immediately bought meat as soon as he heard that Mei Xiang's son wasn't getting any. The three brothers then had a big meal and settled down.

No one expected the three Wang brothers to cause trouble again. Seeing everyone in the courtyard eating meat these past few days made Aunt Zhu craved some, so she cooked a piece of cured pork herself. Unfortunately, the mischievous kids saw her and tried to steal it, only to be caught again.

This time, it wasn't Aunt Zhu who discovered it herself. The female lead saw them sneaking into the original owner's house, so she secretly threw a small stone at the threshold. Aunt Zhu heard the noise and was discovered.

Aunt Zhu wasn't like Cheng Ke. She dragged him out and started yelling, "You little brat, you're so shameless, trying to scheme against me! Do you really think I'm some kind of cat? You ill-mannered dog, you despicable wretch! What? Your grandma and mom spoil you, but everyone in the world has to? Am I your father? If I were your father, I'd kick you into the outhouse, you despicable thing. You want something from me? Bah! You really don't know who's watching. Is your family struggling? Who isn't struggling? How come other families can save money and live well? But your family, time and time again! You're never satisfied with taking advantage of others, are you? You're a family! The old one seduces men, the young one sleeps with men, and the little one steals. Birds of a feather flock together."

“My family is starving, how can you be so heartless? What’s wrong with giving us a little? If you’re so mean, no one will take care of you in your old age!” Wang Lao Er’s words struck a nerve with Aunt Zhu. Aunt Zhu’s daughter-in-law couldn’t get pregnant, which was a deep wound in Aunt Zhu’s heart.

"You little brat, trying to take advantage of our family, huh? Kindness? If you're so kind, why don't you bring out your own things? You're always out here stealing chickens and dogs, what a wretched child! You were born but not taught, weren't you? You and your brother get the hell out of here right now! If I see you again, what a piece of trash you are, a half-grown boy trying to act all high and mighty here. What kind of person are you!"

The three Wang brothers left. "Brother, what should we do? They won't give us any food, and they're even cursing Mom and Grandma," the youngest Wang said bitterly.

Old Wang's eyes gleamed with malice as he said, "That old hag not only didn't give us anything but also cursed at us. We have to teach her a lesson. It's not gentlemanly to leave a grudge unavenged. We may be kids, but we're not easy to bully."

He pondered for a moment and said, "We'll keep an eye on the yard. She can't stay inside forever; she'll definitely have to come out to use the toilet. As soon as she does, we'll go around to the back and throw stones at her. If we're lucky, she'll fall into the toilet and get covered in shit. If we're unlucky and she doesn't fall in, at least we'll get splashed all over her, and we'll still have made a profit!"

The three children divided the work and went to collect stones. Other children their age could at least help out at home, like making matchboxes, but these three children were not. They were thinking about how to do something naughty together, and they were quite energetic.

That evening, Aunt Zhu rushed to the toilet. As soon as she entered, the three children from the Wang family immediately went around to the cesspool behind the toilet and started throwing stones.

The stones either hit her hard and stung, or they landed in the cesspool and splashed onto her. Aunt Zhu couldn't take it anymore, so she cried out and went to find someone.

She tripped over a stone, slipped, and fell to the ground. Seeing that Aunt Zhu hadn't fallen into the cesspool, the three brothers decided to take her to push her down.

When Aunt Zhu saw the three people, she was furious. As soon as they came over, she kicked them down one by one, grabbed one in each hand, and pushed them down.

Unexpectedly, the one who was kicked down caught his foot and fell down as well.

The people who were drawn out by Aunt Zhu's screams went to the toilet and saw a large man and three children in the latrine.

The last time we brought one adult and two children is still fresh in my mind, and this time we brought one adult and three children.

Seeing the three Wang brothers again, and remembering how Qin Fen had splashed them all over them when they tried to help last time, everyone hesitated to step forward and offer assistance.

When Zhu Dama's daughter-in-law, Lu Juan, heard Zhu Dama's voice, she ran over. She quickly pushed through the crowd and saw her mother-in-law standing in a dense crowd of "gold," her upper body covered in "gold." She vomited.

Seeing her daughter-in-law like this, Aunt Zhu's face also darkened. "Quickly, pull me upstairs."

When Widow Wang and Old Lady Wang came out to see what was going on, they were shocked to find their three precious children in the cesspool, with only their heads sticking out. They immediately begged for help.

Lu Juan definitely couldn't pull him away. "Mom, I'll go call Ah Lin, wait a minute."

People around them rushed to help find rope and flashlight.

The three Wang brothers, due to their height, had inevitably swallowed a lot of "gold" (a type of jelly) after their fall. They dared not cry, but upon seeing their mother and grandmother, they immediately pleaded for help, "Mom, Grandma, please help us up!"

Widow Wang and Old Lady Wang were naturally anxious, but it was impossible for them to jump down, so they hurriedly found Qin Fen and asked him for help.

Qin Fen, however, had been ostracized by his colleagues since his previous rescue. He hesitated, not wanting to go down. "Sister Meixiang, they've gone to find a rope. It'll be over soon, don't rush."

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhu Lin arrived, along with those looking for rope and flashlights.

The young men and women in the neighborhood were all conscripted; some were using flashlights, while others were recruiting others.
