Chapter 32 Trivia

So when it comes to farm work, all she can say is that she's not a complete novice; that's about it.

Back in her room that evening, Liu Yun looked at the rapeseed and peanuts scattered all over the ground. With Yu Qianhe not home, it was a perfect time to harvest. She had been working for several days and had barely finished harvesting the peanuts. She then rolled up her sleeves and got to work harvesting the rapeseed.

I spent another hour working in the space, putting the harvested rapeseed on the drying rack to dry, and then pressing it for oil next Sunday. I took a quick shower in the space and went to sleep.

The next day, Liu Yun was woken up by Yu's mother. When she woke up, she not only had a sore back and back, but also sore arms and legs. She had obviously overexerted herself. She must have been too tired to ride those two sacks the first part of the way yesterday.

I was so sleepy that I dozed off as soon as I got to the office, but luckily there wasn't much to do today.

When the weekend came, after breakfast, Liu Yun greeted Yu's mother, saying that Liu Jing had come and she had something to do, so she asked Yu's parents to take care of the child for the day.

Yu's mother knew they were definitely up to no good, but she didn't say anything and just let her go.

When Liu Yun arrived at the compound, Liu Jing hadn't arrived yet. When Fu Yao saw Liu Yun, he didn't say anything, picked up his daughter, and went out, making sure to close the door behind him.

"I've made two sets of your fabric for you. The ones for your in-laws are done, and your dress is ready too. The others will have to wait. Your sister is coming today, so I need to stock up on some supplies." Cheng Ke had been extremely excited these past few days. After being idle for so long, she was suddenly busy again, which felt a little unreal. She worked with great enthusiasm, and the sewing machine had been practically smoking from her feet. She took out the finished clothes and handed them to Liu Yun.

Liu Yun unfolded the clothes and looked at them. The men's clothes were shirt style and dark blue in color.

The woman's top is flat-cut and is navy blue.

The trousers were very much in line with the style of that era; back then, trousers were always ironed with a straight crease down the middle. Her grandmother wore trousers like these until she passed away. Even her mother didn't wear them much anymore, though her father would probably like them. Her mother wasn't so sure, but the fabric was very comfortable, something her mother would definitely appreciate.

Cheng Ke's craftsmanship was truly exceptional. At that time, many women's clothes featured small floral patterns, and this one was even pink floral. To be honest, Liu Yun originally disliked it, finding it tacky. But Cheng Ke's hands seemed to have the power to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, and this dress could still be worn in later generations.

After arriving at the studio and changing her clothes, Cheng Ke's studio had a large mirror. Although it wasn't as big as a full-length mirror, it was still quite large. Fu Yao had to pull a lot of strings to get it.

It has to be said that fashion really is a cycle. The dresses of this era look basically the same as the dresses of later generations. A light-colored, round-necked floral dress, when worn and looking in the mirror, makes you look youthful and beautiful.

Cheng Ke exclaimed how beautiful it was, and was trying on the clothes when there was a knock on the door, followed by Liu Jing's voice.

When Cheng Ke opened the door and saw Liu Jing carrying large and small bags, she quickly went to help her. Liu Jing, upon seeing the dress Liu Yun was wearing, praised herself for having excellent taste.

After entering the house and closing the door, Liu Yun went to change her clothes, while Liu Jing and the other went into the bedroom to look at the fabrics and clothes. Both of them were very satisfied.

Liu Yun entered the bedroom and was a little overwhelmed by the sight of the fabric covering the bed. But when she looked at the finished clothes, she was overjoyed. As expected of a heroine from ancient times, these clothes were truly beautiful. She even found a dress that suited Yu Qianhe and promptly paid for it.
