As soon as Zhu Lin left the police station, his face was devoid of any indignation, resentment, or sincerity. Instead, it was filled with the satisfaction of revenge. He had finally suppressed the fear and dread of his secret being exposed that morning and felt relieved.

The police, having received an affirmative answer, didn't press him further. After all, any man would feel aggrieved and ashamed if his wife was almost pushed and caused to miscarry, and he wanted to punish the perpetrator but was threatened instead. So they didn't ask any more questions.
Three days later, the three Wang brothers returned. It happened to be Sunday, but Zhu Lin didn't cause any trouble. Everyone felt something was wrong, but the Wang family mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and Qin Fen and his son breathed a sigh of relief.
