Chapter 58 The New Liveliness of the Compound

The tenement was in an uproar again. When Liu Yun heard about it, she was just glad that she had moved out long ago and no longer had to suffer from this magical attack. Looking at Cheng Ke and the Fu family mother and son, who looked dejected after being attacked by the magic, Liu Yun felt a little schadenfreude in addition to being glad.

Here's what happened. It all started with Old Lady Wang's instigation. Didn't Old Lady Wang instigate Wang Jiabao, and then accidentally kick Old Man Qin's testicles and break them? Ever since then, Old Man Qin has been looking rather uneasy. Wang Jiabao knew he had misunderstood Old Man Qin and caused trouble, so he kept it in mind.

Wang Jiabao somehow learned about a folk remedy that eating sheep testicles could nourish that area. He figured that if it could nourish, it should also be able to treat it, so he spent money to buy two sheep testicles on the black market and took them home.

When he got home, he told Wang Meifen and Old Lady Wang about it. The two of them didn't understand either, but they knew that eating sheep testicles could nourish certain parts of the body. After all, it was something passed down from their ancestors, and they thought it was feasible.

Neither of them knew how to cook it, but they figured it wouldn't be too different from cooking mutton, and since it was nourishing, they would stew it like mutton soup. They even went out of their way to get some medicinal herbs for stewing mutton to stew the mutton testicles.

Just as everyone in the compound was about to eat, they smelled an odor even stronger than that of pig intestines. At first, only those with a sensitive nose could detect a slight gamey smell, but gradually the air was filled with a pungent, foul odor that was extremely strong. Then, it became an overwhelming, unbelievable fishy smell, even worse than the smell of a fermented urinal. The entire compound reeked of it.

Several people with bad tempers promptly covered their noses and went to the middle of the yard, yelling, "Who the hell fell into the toilet again? Don't they know to flush it before coming in? It's so hot, we're about to eat."

That doesn't seem quite right either, since falling into a toilet is smelly, but it doesn't smell like this.

Others might not know, but everyone in this compound, whether in the front or back yard, should know! The people around here are probably right, after all, someone did play in the public toilet in their compound, and more than once.

Soon someone responded to him: "It doesn't taste quite right."

Grandma Fu also covered her nose. She had never seen anything like this before, nor had she ever witnessed such a scene of people going to the toilet one after another to cook dumplings. She had heard about it many times, though. City people really knew how to have fun. She had never seen anything like this in the countryside. But she couldn't help herself and said, "Oh my god, what a smell! Don't guess what this is, hurry up and find out who did this! It's so smelly, even worse than when we compost fertilizer. We were just about to eat! And now they're doing this."

There's no way around it, the smell is just too strong, I can't stand it!

Everyone rushed outside, and nearly tripped and fell, because the smell outside was even stronger and more intense, permeating the entire courtyard with an indescribable odor. It felt like being in a public toilet fermenting in the sweltering heat of summer—or rather, worse! This smelled even worse than that.

It's truly unbelievable that one day they would be faced with such a taste, especially right when they were about to eat. The effect of this attack is simply greater than the sum of its parts!

Not only them, but the smell was so overpowering that it immediately made everyone cough up.

The family that moved in after Liu Yun and her family left had never seen anything like this before! They had only heard that strange things had happened in this courtyard before, but since they had been living here for more than three months and nothing had happened, they thought that the stories were just exaggerations. Now they believed that the stories were true. The family stood at the door with their brows furrowed, covering their mouths and noses, looking utterly hopeless.

People from the backyard also came out, and everyone was flocking to the front yard. It was obvious that the smell was coming from the front yard, and the smell got stronger the further you went.

Everyone looked at each other, and soon all turned to look at the Wang family. It was obvious that the smell was coming from their house. It was either the Wang family or the Qin family, but both of their doors were tightly closed and no one came out. Given that Old Lady Wang was known for her mean-spirited and vindictive nature, it was obvious why she hadn't shown up yet.

"Was this done by the Wang family or the Qin family?"

"Do you even need to tell me? Didn't you see that no one else is coming out? With Old Lady Wang's personality, would she not join in the fun?"

"Could it be that those three brothers are up to their old tricks again?" After all, these three brothers left a very deep impression on everyone.

"Aunt Yuan, why don't you go and ask?"

"Yeah, you're in charge of the department, you can't just ignore it. Don't let those three brothers cause trouble again, I'm so disgusted I feel like throwing up."

"Don't even mention you, my child was gagging uncontrollably at home, and even the old lady lying in bed was gagging."

"My family was about to eat when we suddenly smelled this and almost threw up on the table."

Everyone expressed extreme anger. It's fine if you cook, but you can't make it smell so bad!

This is not only disgusting when you're about to eat, but it also reminds everyone of the incident where they fell into the latrine. When the hot water washed over them, oh my god, the smell! The people in the neighborhood haven't been able to eat properly for days, and they're too afraid to stay at home. Those who had places to stay have all run away. Now, there's something even more pungent than that. They're really having a tough time.

"vomit……"

"Don't throw up."

"vomit……"

"I can't hold it in anymore even if you guys are throwing up. Ugh..."

"Ugh... Ugh! This smells like a weasel! Are they cooking a weasel? Is that even edible?"

"Hey! You know what, it really does look alike. I've smelled it on a weasel before, and it's pretty much the same."
