When Qianhe brought the soup, Liu Yun was still asleep. She slept very soundly and didn't wake up until after 10 o'clock because she was hungry.
When Liu Yun woke up, she felt wet down there, but her stomach felt light and she didn't feel that suffocating pressure anymore.
"Honey, you're awake. Are you still in pain? I'm so sorry, it's all my fault this time."
Liu Yun found his guilty expression somewhat amusing, but dared not laugh for fear of aggravating the whole body. She glanced at the child beside her; his body was flushed red, his face scrunched up like a little monkey, much like the triplets when they were first born, though a bit bigger.
"Isn't he much bigger than triplets? The one on the left is the older sister, and the one on the right is the younger brother. We'll look at the children later. Are you hungry? Let's eat something first!"
Yu Qianhe ladled out the warm porridge and soup. Liu Yun still had some difficulty getting up, so he fed her like this.
After eating her fill, Liu Yun felt sleepy again and fell asleep while listening to Yu Qian's rambling.
Liu's mother arrived at noon. Upon entering, she saw Liu Yun asleep and tiptoed to the child's side. Yu Qian and Yu Qian introduced her in a soft voice.
"Bang! Let me tell you, Li Erniu, you're making a scene at the hospital during the New Year. If it's another little girl this time, you and your wife get out of here and don't ever come back. You think you're so precious, coming to the hospital during the New Year to bring bad luck."
"Quiet down, all of you. This isn't a place for you to throw a tantrum. If you want to cause trouble, go somewhere else."
A series of noises and the nurse's cursing came from outside the door, waking the twins up.
"Wow! Hmm! Hmm!"
"Hey~! Mmm!"
The two girls cried incessantly. Seeing this, Yu's mother and Liu's mother quickly picked one up and comforted them, saying, "Mao Mao Fei, Mao Mao Fei, don't cry, don't be afraid!"
Liu's mother and Yu's mother cursed inwardly. The Lantern Festival had already passed, and they were still making a racket in public.
Liu Yun was also woken up by the noise. However, she didn't hear the commotion outside because she had just started crying due to the twins, and the noise outside had stopped because of the nurses' intervention.
"What's wrong? Why are they all crying? Are they hungry?" Liu Yun was a little confused looking at the crying twins.
"It's alright, they just drank some formula. Don't move, just lie down and rest."
After two minutes of coaxing, the two finally stopped crying and fell asleep. Looking at Liu Yun, Yu's mother felt that this person was really lucky. She had only given birth to two children, and both times she was woken up by such a bizarre thing.
Liu's mother, however, had a different focus. She said to Yu Qianhe, "The children were frightened just now. Be careful when they sleep tonight. They're so young and easily frightened. I'll go and get them both a red string to wear tomorrow."
Hearing her mother say she was frightened, Liu Yun realized she must have forgotten something. After her mother explained, she didn't say anything. After all, it was just a red string, not some kind of talisman. Better safe than sorry. When she was little, her grandmother would get her a string to wear when she was frightened. Now that she had transmigrated, she was even more respectful of such things. However, despite her agreement and respect, she would still boil and sterilize the red string before giving it to the twins.
"Are you hungry? I brought you some chicken soup wontons. They're just the right size so they won't get soggy if you eat them now."
Liu Yun wanted to eat wontons as soon as she heard the name, even though she had just eaten some not long ago.
Upon hearing that Liu Yun wanted to eat, Yu Qian immediately brought over a lunchbox to feed her. The chicken soup had turned a bit yellow, but there wasn't much oil on top. The soup also contained dried shrimp and seaweed. One bite was so delicious that you wanted to swallow your tongue.
After Liu Yun finished eating and drinking, another woman was wheeled into the delivery room, followed by a man carrying a baby. The woman who had just been cursing was nowhere to be seen, and no one knew where she had gone.
Looking at the two ugly children sleeping soundly, Liu Yun smiled. These two really are unlucky kids! Their birthday is on the sixteenth day of the first lunar month. Will they cry in the future? Thinking about this, Liu Yun smiled.
"Have you decided on names for the kids? Don't ask me, not even nicknames. I really can't think of anything. Last time with triplets, I did my best. This time, it's really impossible." Looking at the two unlucky, ugly little kids, she genuinely didn't know any good names. They were already unlucky enough; she decided not to make things worse for them.
Yu Qianhe thought for a moment, "How about we name our daughter Dangdang, and our son is the youngest, so we'll name him Maomao?"
Upon hearing "Mao Mao," Liu Yun glanced at the sleeping little monkey and sighed inwardly, "Sorry, poor kid, this isn't your mom's fault. It's your dad's name for you. They usually call the youngest child Mao Mao here."
Watching the young couple chatting happily, Yu's mother thought back to the scene of her grandson crying in her past life and decided to give the unfortunate child a second thought. "How about we call him An'an instead of Mao Mao? Too many people call him Mao Mao." 'Your son will probably fight a lot over this nickname in the future! He'll often complain to you that you treat him the worst.'
Liu Yun paused for a moment, then suddenly understood something, and made the decision herself to name her older sister Dangdang and her younger brother An'an.
The nickname has been decided; let Father worry about the formal name!
They were having a pleasant chat when the woman in labor woke up.
The man saw the delivery room and tried to get up, so he quickly went to help her. "Wife, you're awake. Are you hungry? You watch our precious baby while I go buy some food."
Whoever was playing with the baby left the new mother next to her and ran to the cafeteria. The mother and the others immediately understood that the baby had been born and the mother-in-law left. The woman and man clearly looked like they were from the countryside, but the woman herself had a very refined air; it was unclear how these two families had gotten together. However, the woman's chapped lips suggested she was thirsty, but with only one person looking after the baby, she was clearly overwhelmed.
"Girl, your lips are dry and chapped. There's hot water here, but I've already drunk from the cup. If you don't mind, have some! I don't think your man will have time to get some water right away."
"No problem, no problem, thank you, Auntie." The water was for Liu Yun to drink and for making formula for the twins, so it was just the right temperature and not too hot.
After giving the water to the mother, she didn't say much more. After all, they were complete strangers, and the woman seemed to be the kind of person who was proud and probably didn't want anyone to see her in an embarrassing situation.
When two people from two different worlds come together, and looking at the woman's attitude from before, it's clear that this girl comes from a poor family, or she was sent to the countryside, or she was sent down to the countryside.
It was still winter, and the hospital wasn't as warm as home, so after three days, most of them went home.
