The Li family is here today. As soon as Li Hui and Li Teng arrived, they were the focus of everyone's attention. Next, a family meeting was held.
Father Li: "Eldest son, third son, how was your day?"
Li Hui: "It's pretty much what Xiao Hui said. Business is booming, and we're so busy we barely have time to breathe."
After they finished speaking, the two handed over the ten yuan that Liu Aidang had given to Li's mother. After all, the family had not yet divided the property, and Li's mother was the one in charge of the household.
Li Hui: "This is the salary my brother-in-law gave us for helping out today."
Hearing this, the Li family gasped. Two people could earn twenty yuan a day; if they worked for a month, wouldn't that be six hundred?
Mr. Li: "What are your thoughts?"
Li Hui: "My brother-in-law is going to buy goods tomorrow, and I want to go with him to buy some. That way, we can earn more. He also said that the reason why things are selling so well now is because there are no sellers yet. Once more people start selling, the opportunity will be gone. We are making money now by taking advantage of the time difference. Also, there is a market in the county the day after tomorrow, and my brother-in-law and his family will definitely set up a stall. But there is also a market in Liuzhen, so we can go to Liuzhen then."
Father Li: "Third son, what about you? What are you thinking?"
Li Teng: "I'm in the same boat as my older brother, but we have a problem: what about our jobs? My brother-in-law says that this money is only easy to earn right now, and we can't just sell our jobs!"
Father Li: "Since you two brothers both want to do it, then do it. If you're going to do it, then do it big. Tomorrow, take a thousand yuan and go with Ai Dang to buy goods. As for your work, I'll ask for leave for you tomorrow and call your cousins to come to the city and cover for you for a while."
The next morning, I heard Liu's mother calling people to get up and eat.
Neither Liu Aidang nor Li Hui wanted to get out of bed; they just wanted to sleep, especially Liu Aidang, who was exhausted from the past two days.
But there was no way around it; they had to get up because it wasn't Sunday. If they didn't get up, the Liu family would definitely become suspicious, since the two of them hadn't told their families about selling their jobs.
After dinner, I went to the rental place to sort out the clothes that were left over from yesterday's sale.
The Li brothers arrived shortly after they sat down.
Li Hui: "Aid the Party, how about we go with you to buy some goods today? Are you going to set up a stall in the county tomorrow?"
Liu Aidang: "We set up a stall in the county. If you want to buy goods, we can go together this afternoon."
Li Hui: "Then we'll set up our stall in Liuzhen tomorrow. There's a market there too."
I was a little surprised to hear that Liu Aidang lived in Liuzhen. It's not close at all; it takes more than three hours to get there by bicycle! If I want to go, I have to set off before dawn tomorrow.
Liu Aidang: "You can also set up stalls in the county. The whole county is so big, as long as you don't set up on the same street."
Li Hui: "It's okay, we plan to stock up on more goods. No one has been to Liuzhen yet, so business shouldn't be too bad."
Li Hui: "What about your work, brothers? Taking sick leave every day isn't sustainable!"
Li Hui: "It's okay. Dad called my cousins over and asked them to cover for Li Teng and me for a while. We'll try it out during this time. If it doesn't work out, we can go back to work. That way, we'll have a backup plan. If the business is good, then we'll see."
Liu Aidang knew they had something in mind, so he didn't say anything. After all, the two of them were setting up stalls in the same place, and even if they were several streets apart, their business would still be divided. But look at their family, the brothers are loving and respectful, and their parents are supportive. Look at his own older brother, he wished he could skin him alive and drink his blood. It's all tears when you talk about it.
"Alright! We need to count these goods first before we go to order more."
Li Hui: "We'll come and help."
With the help of two people, things went much faster. When they arrived in the city, Liu Aidang first found a small restaurant and treated his friend to a bowl of wontons before going to the restaurant. However, when it came time to pay, Li Hui beat him to it.
Liu Jing wasn't too surprised to see Liu Aidang, but she didn't expect him to have tricked both his brother-in-law and his sister-in-law into coming. Liu Jing was genuinely worried for him; if he made money, that would be fine, but if he didn't, he'd be beaten to death.
However, Liu Jing didn't say much, since it wasn't his business anyway. Seeing this, though, one could only think that Liu Aiguo and his wife were both failures as people and as brothers.
The four siblings, three of them can support each other, but they all avoid Liu Aiguo and his wife like the plague. Now, the three of them could easily earn more than Liu Aiguo through their own efforts, but none of them did so, and they all secretly kept it from the couple. They really failed as people.
Li Hui and his brother took 1,000 yuan worth of goods, while Liu Aidang took 1,500 yuan. This was mainly because Li Hui thought that the market in the county town was definitely larger than that in the town, and now that each sale was one less opportunity, they wanted to sell as much as possible.
The next day, he got up before dawn again and went to the place where he had set up his stall last time. Everyone remembered him because he had come once. The clothes were not even set up yet when he opened for business. The main reason was that there were not enough goods last time, and many people did not buy them. Now it was first come, first served. Buy first and then worry about it.
Fortunately, the two ate some cookies and pastries in their rented room to fill their stomachs, otherwise they would have had to work on an empty stomach.
Since we've sold it once before, everyone is familiar with the prices and rules. If they like something, they don't say much and just pay.
There are far more people in the county town than in the town, and their living standards and purchasing power are also higher. From the moment they took out their things, the two of them didn't stop, and didn't even have time to drink water.
This time, they didn't even have enough to last until the market closed; everything was sold out. With a big bag of money in their hands, the two of them didn't dare linger and quickly packed up and went home.
When they got back to their rented room, they were starving. The sun had set by the time they got up in the morning, and they had only eaten some biscuits and pastries. But now that they had a big bag of money, they didn’t dare to go out to eat. They could only eat some pastries to fill their stomachs.
