"That's fine. It's getting late, I have to go now, I'll come see you again next week."
"OK."
Holding the cloth Liu Jing gave her, Liu Yun headed towards her rented room. The weather was nice today, with a gentle breeze and not too much sun. Since it wasn't far from there, Liu Yun decided against taking the bus and slowly walked towards the river.
As she passed People's Park and reached the corner, someone suddenly rushed out from inside. With a loud thud, she felt a powerful impact, making her dizzy and disoriented. Her body fell backward uncontrollably, landing directly on her buttocks. The pain brought tears to her eyes instantly.
"Excuse me, comrade, are you alright?" The other person pulled her back and asked anxiously.
"I was in a hurry and ran so fast that I didn't notice anyone."
"Ouch, don't pull me." My butt hurts as soon as I move, and my ankle is throbbing. I must have twisted my ankle.
Seeing the little girl's forehead red, her pale face, her red-rimmed eyes, and the tears still glistening in her eyes, I felt a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry, let me take you to the hospital for a check-up!"
Liu Yun looked up and saw a tall, thin, and refined-looking young man with sword-like eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes, thin lips, and a high-bridged nose with gold-rimmed glasses. He had almost been knocked away by the bump, so he was definitely the type who looked slim in clothes but muscular underneath. This kind of appearance might not be popular in this era, but for Liu Yun, it was simply divine. She loved this kind of refined scoundrel; she found it particularly appealing.
Liu Yun rubbed her eyes. "It's okay. Didn't you have something urgent to do? Go quickly! Don't delay."
The man slapped his forehead. “Indeed, comrade. My name is Yu Qianhe. I work at the Municipal Machinery Factory. Go to the hospital to check if there’s anything wrong with your foot. I’ll pay for it. I’m in a bit of a hurry, so I have to go now.”
"It's okay, you go first!"
After everyone left, Liu Yun took a break until her buttocks weren't hurting so much before she limped over to a rock and sat down. She shook her legs, but they still ached a bit when she walked, so she rubbed her ankles with her hands.
Yu Qianhe, the machinery factory—I don't think I've ever heard of him. Thinking back carefully through the two books, I realize that I haven't mentioned him in either of them.
If not, so be it. Liu Yun temporarily put him out of her mind since she couldn't find any information about him.
After finishing my work here, Yu Qianhe went to the gatehouse and asked, "Did anyone come looking for me today?"
"No, did Technician Yu make an appointment with anyone?"
"Oh! It's nothing."
I felt a little disappointed when I heard no, but I quickly put it out of my mind.
