Chapter 466 To Save Brother Gu Chen

Once inside the island's forest, everyone discovered that the island was much larger than the information provided by the production team.

The forest was lush, and because no one ventured there, in some places the bushes and weeds were taller than Xiao Ruanruan and Jiajia.

Jiajia was terrified, clutching Xiaoruanruan tightly with one hand. "Ruanruan,... are there snakes here?"

Susie jumped up and down next to them, stomping down a tall clump of weeds. "What's there to be afraid of with snakes? Jiajia, don't worry, with your sister here, if we really encounter a snake, we can just have snake stew for lunch."

Ruan Ruan also took Jia Jia's hand in return, "Jia Jia, don't be afraid. We have two instructors, Teacher Beier, and so many uncles from the production crew. They will protect us."

"Mmm!" Jiajia nodded vigorously, her little face still pale, but she clenched her fists to encourage herself, "Come on! Jiajia is brave, Jiajia isn't afraid..."

Su Xixi and Lu Weiyi together trampled down some of the weeds in front of Jiajia and Ruanruan.

Little Ruanruan's ears suddenly twitched, signaling her older sister and Lulu to stop what they were doing. "Sister, listen, there's the sound of water."

As soon as she finished speaking, Bell, who was walking at the front, was already waving and calling out in broken Chinese, "Hey everyone, follow me, there's a river ahead!"

"Yes!" Su Xixi immediately clenched her little fist and made a victory gesture. "Where there's a river, there are fish. Wait until I show you my fishing skills. At noon, I'll have Xiao Ruanruan cook a whole fish feast!"

Even with Bear Grylls, Instructor Niu, and Gu Chen leading the way through the dense forest, the weeds they stepped on would quickly grow back, making it exceptionally difficult for the little ones to walk.

In addition, their skin is so delicate that a single scratch from a blade of grass leaves leaves a red mark.

Fortunately, when Xing Chao went to pick up Xiao Ruanruan and the others, the mosquito repellent Xiao Yiyi gave them was effective enough. Otherwise, if they had been bitten by mosquitoes again, it would have been difficult for these children to endure it.

After all, even Kang Kang, the oldest and usually the most composed, had his lips pressed tightly into a line after his face was covered in sweat and dirt.

Xing Chao felt sorry for the children, but he was also very gratified. The sun on the island was intense, and even he found it hard to bear, but none of the children complained about being tired or suffering.

When he made this show, he considered the current market and thought that cute kids were popular.

But more so because recently, another summer camp program put children from multiple countries together for wilderness survival training.

Then, whether it was a deliberate character design by the production team or a problem caused during the selection process, the children from other countries were very independent and had strong self-care abilities.

Children in China, however, only know how to cry when they encounter difficulties; they can't do anything for themselves.

He was so angry when he saw it that he wanted to make a program to show everyone that Chinese children are no worse than children from any other country!

On the screen—

[Why did a brick suddenly get into my eye while I was watching?]

My son and daughter are both amazing. Not one of them complained of being tired, and not one of them cried. They're so young. I don't think even I could be stronger than them.

[The weeds were so dense, just looking at them made me itchy. They walked through them for so long under the blazing sun! Amazing!]

There was some lousy TV show that compared Chinese children to children from other countries, making it seem like Chinese children were worthless and like overgrown babies.

They should see this program. Our Chinese children are no less capable than those from any other country; in fact, they are often stronger and more outstanding!

...

"We're here! Wow, what a huge river!" Su Xixi's excited voice suddenly burst out from the previously quiet screen.

Little Softie and the others followed, emerging from the bushes and weeds. The riverbank was covered in a jumble of rocks, with only sparse weeds growing among them.

The river wasn't actually very wide, only about three meters wide, but because it had rained heavily two days before they arrived, the current was very rapid.

Moreover, a thunderous roar could be heard from not far away, indicating that there must be a waterfall nearby.

Bell, Instructor Niu, and Gu Chen reached out to lift the children onto the pile of rocks.

Kang Kang squatted down and slid down, his little face serious. "Thank you, Teacher Bell. I'm eight years old now, I can do it myself. You can take care of the other younger brothers and sisters."

After being carried to the pile of rocks, Susie took out her specially made fishing rod from her suitcase, ready to go fishing.

But after everything was ready, she realized she had forgotten to bring bait.

Seeing Xing Chao, who had just slipped down from the bushes, her eyes lit up and she ran over. "Uncle Xing, have you finished the jars of food I gave you yesterday?"

It's what earthworms do.

Xing Chao's chubby cheeks twitched visibly. Could he say that they had secretly poured the meat into the sea to feed the fish?

Of course not.

He forced a kind smile and said, "Yes, the staff on our show have already shared the food."

Susie frowned. "Oh, I see. Then I'll think of another way to get bait!"

"Ah—a snake!"

"Thump!"

Just then, a small, childlike scream rang out.

Meanwhile, Jiajia, who was frightened by the snake, took several steps back and, because she was standing on a pile of rocks, lost her balance and fell directly into the river.

"Thump!"

The little girl closest to Jiajia jumped into the river without thinking.
