Little Ruanruan sat behind a somewhat dilapidated wooden door, her short little paws huddled around her knees.
Hearing the howling wind outside, he looked worried.
"Brother Gu Chen, when will this wind stop? The live stream outside will definitely be cut off. If the brothers knew we were caught in a sandstorm, they would be very worried." The little girl mumbled in her soft, sweet voice.
She was a little worried that her older brother might be so concerned about her that he would ignore the storm and fly a helicopter in to find her!
Gu Chen took out a piece of dry bread and a bottle of milk from his bag and handed them to Xiao Ruanruan. He reached out and ruffled her soft hair. "Don't worry, your older brother and the others know I'm here. They won't let anything happen to you, and they won't act impulsively."
Even if the eldest and fourth brothers acted impulsively, the third brother would stop them.
"Eat something first, and Qiu Shun and the others will come to pick us up when the wind calms down a bit."
Little Ruanruan took the dry bread and milk from Gu Chen's hand, looking at him with shocked eyes, "Brother Gu Chen, how come you still have food?"
Gu Chen said without changing his expression, "It was given to me by the production team on the first day we entered the desert. I kept it in my bag and haven't eaten it yet, just in case."
Little Ruanruan used her two little hands to forcefully cut the dry bread in half, handing one half to Gu Chen, "Brother Gu Chen, you eat too!"
Little Ruanruan took a bite of dry bread, then drank some milk, and held the straw to Gu Chen's lips.
Gu Chen put the straw that Xiao Ruanruan had just drunk from into his mouth, and the upward curve of his lips deepened even more.
Inside the house, there was a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
Outside the house, in a sheltered spot on a sand dune, Qiu Shun looked at Shan Heng with a mournful expression. "I already told you, the young master was blown away by the sandstorm along with the little dumpling. We didn't need to rush to look for him."
You wouldn't believe me, but now look what's happened! The little master and the little dumpling are happily inside the house, while we're outside enjoying the breeze and eating sand!
"Pah!" he said, spitting out a mouthful of yellow sand that had been blown into his mouth by the wind.
Shan Heng gave him a disdainful look. "Shut your mouth and stop babbling on. You don't have to swallow so much sand!"
I really don't understand what the little master saw in this chatterbox, and why he chose him from among the four to stay by his side.
Shan Heng glanced at the increasingly weak wind and called to Qiu Shun, "Let's go pick up the young master and the little dumpling. The Su brothers should be looking for us soon."
Qiu Shun and Shan Heng walked into the slightly dilapidated house together.
Qiu Shun immediately feigned a look of surprise and joy, his eyes welling up with tears of excitement. "Little master, little dumpling, I've finally found you! How are you? Are you hurt anywhere?"
As Qiu Shun spoke, he genuinely tried to pull Xiao Ruanruan closer to check if she was injured.
Gu Chen cast a cool glance at him, and he instantly sobered up, realizing that he had gone too far with his acting.
Little Ruanruan raised her little hand and wiped away the tears glistening in the corners of Qiu Shun's eyes as he knelt before her. Her sweet, childlike voice said, "Uncle Qiu Shun, I'm not hurt. Thank you for coming to save us."
"It's not hard work at all!" Qiu Shun quickly waved his hand and said, feeling warm inside.
He felt that if it weren't for his little master's death stare, this would have been a perfect interaction between him and the little dumpling.
It's just a pity...
Why!
Gu Chen reached out and scooped Xiao Ruan Ruan up in his arms. "Let's go!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Yiqing, Su Ziyuan, Su Yifan, Su Yan, and Xiao Yiyi all went into the house.
The house, which was originally quite spacious, suddenly felt cramped after the addition of five tall men.
Su Yiqing snatched the little cuddly thing from Gu Chen's hands and said to Gu Chen with a forced smile, "Gu Chen, thank you for this."
Gu Chen remained unfazed. "You're welcome. It's only right that I protect Xiao Ruan Ruan."
Little Ruanruan looked at her older brothers' expressions and felt a bit of a headache.
She used to be able to tell her brothers that Gu Chen was like a real brother to them and persuade them to accept him, but now...
She felt that resolving the conflict between her brothers and Gu Chen was an even more difficult problem than building a time machine.
So she chose to be a lazy bum who avoids problems and diverts her brothers' attention.
"Big brother, have you found my sister and the others?" Little Ruanruan asked, hugging Su Yiqing's neck with her chubby little arms.
Su Yiqing's expression softened instantly. She steadily supported the little girl with one hand and gently stroked her soft hair with the other. "We've found a place to send her back to the town outside the desert. Don't worry."
"Then let's hurry and go find my sister!"
"Okay!" Su Yiqing immediately stopped arguing with Gu Chen and carried Xiao Ruanruan outside.
Little Ruan Ruan perched on Su Yiqing's shoulder and gave Gu Chen a mischievous wink.
Gu Chen's lips instantly curled up. When Su Ziyuan, Su Yifan, and Su Yan saw the smile on Gu Chen's face, alarm bells went off in their hearts, and they subconsciously looked at Xiao Ruanruan.
But they found that Xiao Ruanruan was nestled in Su Laoda's arms, not even peeking out, let alone interacting with Gu Chen.
The wind outside had subsided, but it still stirred up a lot of yellow sand. Su Yiqing hid Xiao Ruanruan very well, not letting her feel a bit of wind.
The three helicopters were parked in the desert outside.
Su Yiqing carried Xiao Ruanruan onto the largest helicopter, and Xiao Yiyi followed.
Meanwhile, Su Ziyuan, Su Yifan, and Su Yan grabbed Gu Chen and boarded another plane, while Qiu Shun and Shan Heng were forced onto another plane.
