Chapter 117 Opening a Shop

Chapter 117 Opening a Shop

His words subtly revealed a protectiveness towards Jiang Ran, and it wasn't until he heard that he had even argued with his father for her sake that Si Zuochen realized the seriousness of the matter.

When exactly did his scales begin to tip again?

Jiang Ran tilted her head slightly, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes: "Which aspect are you referring to?"

Si Zuochen glanced at her coldly, his expression unfriendly: "What happened between you and Alin today?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow, understanding the situation, but instead of answering directly, she asked, "What happened to him this time?"

Si Zuochen's only weakness is Si Youlin, she knows it very well. The fact that he went to the trouble of personally questioning her is probably because Si Youlin's emotions are showing on his face again.

Thinking of this, he suddenly chuckled and explained, "I accidentally stumbled upon a good show today. Don't worry, nothing bad happened to him."

"A good show?" Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen frowned slightly, his face showing doubt.

He glanced at her and noticed that Jiang Ran was looking at him with a smile, but she didn't seem to be planning to say anything more.

He then coughed lightly twice to ease the awkwardness and secretly suppressed his curiosity.

She raised her eyes and looked at Jiang Ran seriously, then scoffed coldly, "Stay away from him from now on!"

Hearing the subtle rebuke in his words, Jiang Ran's expression hardened, a hint of displeasure flashing in her eyes, and she replied coldly, "What you said is quite interesting."

"What? Did I have to beg him to leave today too?"

Si Zuochen naturally knew the inside story; it was Si Youlin who followed under the pretext of supervision.

Now that Jiang Ran has brought it up, it has a somewhat sarcastic tone.

"But he's soft-hearted and easily deceived by your insincerity when you're together."

Si Zuochen said sternly, "But what about you? You're useless, only knowing how to obsess over family feuds."

As he spoke, a look of disdain crossed his face. Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran pursed her lips slightly, a hint of hesitation flashing across her face.

Just as he was about to retort, he saw Si Zuochen scoff and get up to leave.

Jiang Ran watched his departing figure, her eyes thoughtful.

Although she didn't know why Si Zuochen suddenly harbored such malice towards her, his words just now had a wake-up call.

Utterly useless?

Although her words were unpleasant to hear, the logic was sound. Since transmigrating, she had indeed been focusing on the Si family, even neglecting her expertise in metaphysics.

They have no personal space, and outsiders have a deep-rooted impression of them.

Thinking of this, Jiang Ran's eyes flashed, and an idea came to her. Inspired by him, she decided to open an online divination shop to sell the talismans she made herself.

————

Time flies, and half a month has passed since I met Song Yuqing.

During the past two weeks, she has been preparing for her online store, staying in her bedroom to work on it, and even the servants in the villa rarely see her.

Jiang Ran looked down at the sales data screen, her eyes suddenly lighting up, a look of surprise flashing across her face: "How could this be?"

Sales are steadily rising, a stark contrast to the previous dismal performance.

Just then, the cell phone on the table started buzzing.

Jiang Ran glanced at it, saw the note, and casually answered the phone.

"Ranran..." Ji Xia's voice came from the receiver, but before she could speak, Jiang Ran interrupted her.

"Your call came just in time. I was just about to call you when, for some reason, the shop suddenly got a lot of orders."

She has few friends in this world; Ji Xia is her only one.

So after deciding to open the shop, I immediately told her about the idea. She was obviously even more excited than I was. Since we were both novices in this area, we started exploring together step by step.

Before Ji Xia could speak, Jiang Ran continued to complain, "The shop wasn't doing very well at first, and I was a little worried, but now all the problems have been solved."

"By the way, what did you want to say when you called me?"

Upon hearing this, Ji Xia chuckled softly: "You've already said everything I wanted to say."

"Since you wouldn't let me hire a professional team to help, I just shared it on social media."

"So I called specifically to ask how the feedback was?"

Upon hearing Ji Xia's explanation, Jiang Ran's face lit up with joy, and she smiled gently, "So it's because of the socialite effect."

As she spoke, she looked at the order slips and placed a few orders, then said, "You've really helped me a lot. When do you have time? I'll treat you to a meal."

Hearing Jiang Ran's words, Ji Xia did not refuse and replied, "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Ran glanced at the time, quickly calculated the order she had just marked as read, gave a vague reply, and went out.

She chose "Shengshi Huating" as the location, and when she arrived at the door, she saw Ji Xia already waiting outside.

Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow and chuckled softly, "Why don't you go in first?"

Ji Xia smiled gently: "I just arrived too."

Because Ji Xia is a VIP here, she has a private room, and the two of them slowly walked in.

"How have you been lately?" Jiang Ran asked, glancing sideways.

Ji Xia's expression remained unchanged, but a hint of bitterness flashed in her eyes as she replied in a low voice, "Just drag it out."

Jiang Ran lowered her eyes, knowing full well that even an upright official finds it difficult to settle family disputes, let alone having such a troublesome and unreasonable mother-in-law, which made things even more difficult.

He then changed the subject, mentioning some of the fortune-telling he had done recently, some of which were quite shocking, so he told them to her as jokes to amuse her.

Just as the two were getting into their conversation, a startled exclamation suddenly came from outside the door: "Ji Xia?"

Upon hearing this, Ji Xia looked up and instantly put on a fake smile: "An Li!"

Both men were from high society and were considered family friends, but they saw each other less after she got married.

Jiang Ran turned her head and glanced at the person who had come in, a hint of surprise flashing across her face.

She had just witnessed a great show and was naturally impressed by her, but she didn't intend to have any direct contact with her, so she lowered her eyes and pretended not to see her.

"And who is this?" An Li asked, looking at Jiang Ran.

She understood Ji Xia; she was proud and arrogant, and no one else could catch her eye or meet with her privately except for those she had chosen.

They must have a good relationship, so a hint of curiosity flashed across their faces.

Ji Xia explained softly, "A friend of mine."

After saying that, he changed the subject and asked, "How did you end up here?"

An Li smiled slightly and replied with a light laugh, "I just finished having dinner with my friends here and am waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up."

After saying that, he looked into the room and asked, "You don't mind if I stay here for a while, do you?"

"Of course not." Ji Xia was unaware of the complicated relationship between her and Jiang Ran, so she turned her body slightly to the side.

After An Li sat down, she chatted with Ji Xia about recent current events, while Jiang Ran responded casually from the side.

Since they weren't on the same wavelength, she never considered joining them.

Jiang Ran lowered her eyes to check the orders on her phone, and suddenly felt a faint sense of familiarity in the air around her.

He frowned slightly, then turned off his phone screen and said to Ji Xia, "I'm going to the restroom first."

Then he nodded slightly to An Li as a sign of acknowledgment.

She tried to avoid Lu Ziyi, that scumbag, but unexpectedly ran into him right at the door.

Lu Ziyi's expression turned cold the moment Jiang Ran suddenly appeared before him, and he said through gritted teeth, "Jiang Ran?!"

During his time in the detention center, he placed all his hopes on Jiang Ran, but in the end, he only received an extended sentence.

If he hadn't eventually found another way and tried every means to reconnect with An Li, he might still be in jail now.

He was a smart man and knew that it would be easy for Jiang Ran to get him out of this mess. The fact that she hadn't made a move for so long meant that she had no intention of getting involved and was planning to stay out of it.

Seeing that she couldn't avoid it, Jiang Ran sighed inwardly, then looked up at him seriously, noticing the hidden hatred in his eyes, but Jiang Ran didn't seem to notice.

A slight smile played on her lips as she slowly spoke, "Oh? What a coincidence?"

"It's quite a coincidence..." Lu Ziyi sneered, "I was just about to go find you, but I didn't expect you to appear in front of me first?"

The tone of his words gave the impression that he was preparing to settle scores later.

"Looking for me?" Jiang Ran feigned confusion. "What do you want? Does your girlfriend know?"

After saying that, Lu Ziyi's expression suddenly changed. Just then, An Li and Ji Xia also came out of the private room.

When An Li saw Lu Ziyi, her face lit up with joy: "Ziyi!"
