Chapter 132 No Clues
With no clues found, the atmosphere became increasingly oppressive.
Gu Nan watched from the side, feeling increasingly anxious, seeing that they were about to hit a dead end.
But Si Yanxiao is the kind of person who won't turn back even after hitting a wall.
Gu Nan couldn't help but offer a suggestion: "If there's really no other way, why don't we go find someone to do a fortune telling? Maybe they'll be accurate?"
"Calculate it?" Upon hearing this, Si Yanxiao frowned. "Find those charlatans?"
"No, no." Gu Nan waved her hands repeatedly: "Don't be too prejudiced against these kinds of metaphysical things. Some capable people can still make very accurate predictions."
As he spoke, Jiang Ran's name came to mind.
Si Yanxiao scoffed at his words, his face showing disdain: "What's so trustworthy about this kind of person? He's just after money."
"Giving them the money is not as practical as donating it to a Hope Primary School."
As he spoke, he lowered his eyes to look out the window, his face grim.
He never believed in such things that had no scientific basis. The Master Xuanren that the old man believed in was really quite skilled, and all the things he predicted came true.
The things she said about herself touched a nerve, forcibly binding him and that woman together because of one sentence.
There's no escaping it, no way to break free.
He couldn't believe that anyone could so easily influence a person's destiny, or even their life.
Isn't this ridiculous?!
So they began to have serious doubts about him and wanted to question him, but he was a wanderer who lived like a hermit, and would go into seclusion from time to time, so they couldn't find him at all.
Thinking of this, Si Yanxiao said sarcastically, "I suspect that Jiang Ran and Master Xuanren are related by blood. Otherwise, how could he have arranged things so clearly for her so easily?"
Hearing the sarcasm in his words, Gu Nan touched the tip of her nose, coughed lightly twice, and felt like crying.
There was no solution to the problem, and his suggestions were ruthlessly rejected.
Then, tentatively, she continued to persuade him, "I actually quite believe in this kind of thing."
Upon hearing this, a hint of doubt flashed across Si Yanxiao's face: "Aren't you an atheist?"
Gu Nan pursed her lips as she listened. The example of Jiang Ran igniting a talisman out of thin air in front of her and using a compass to find people was still vivid in her mind.
What atheists? They've long since vanished into thin air.
No belief is as real as what you see with your own eyes.
He then replied, "Some things that science cannot explain also need to be proven by other means."
Si Yanxiao glanced at him sideways after hearing this, his eyes filled with confusion.
Seeing that she couldn't persuade him, Gu Nan stopped making futile struggles.
Si Yanxiao returned to the villa with a heavy heart, and his expression became extremely unpleasant because of this matter.
Si Youlin bumped into him, noticed the change in his expression, his eyes flashed, and he asked, "Daddy, is something bothering you lately?"
"Hmm?" Si Yanxiao calmed himself down slightly and replied softly, "Why would you ask that?"
Si Youlin looked up to meet his gaze and replied seriously, "You seem to be in a bad mood. Perhaps you could tell me so I can help you share some of the burden."
Si Yanxiao felt a warmth in his heart as he listened to his words.
Surprised by his keen observation, she still slowly shook her head, a slight smile playing on her lips, and said softly, "I'm fine, don't think so much."
"At your age, the most important thing is to study hard, you know?"
Si Youlin listened to Si Yanxiao's lecture, his eyes flickered slightly, and he wanted to say something.
But Si Yanxiao interrupted him abruptly: "Alright, don't worry, if there's nothing else, you can go back now."
Since things had come to this point, Si Youlin didn't want to ask any more questions, so he simply replied softly, "Okay."
Then he turned around and went back to his room. Si Zuochen noticed that Si Youlin had been in a low mood ever since he returned.
Before he could even ask, Si Youlin blurted out everything on his own.
After hearing this, Si Zuochen gently patted his shoulder and comforted him, "It's alright. Since Daddy said it's alright, it means it's not a big problem."
"Furthermore, if something really happens, how can we possibly help?"
Listening to his advice, Si Youlin felt a little relieved.
But she couldn't suppress her curiosity and wanted to do something for him behind his back, but she had no clue where to start.
Si Zuochen, the "brain" of the two, was quick-witted and immediately offered a suggestion: "Then go ask Uncle Anan. He's inseparable from Daddy every day, so he might know something."
A single word awakened me from my dream.
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin quickly sat up and nodded in agreement, "Okay! I'll go ask him right away."
After saying that, he turned and left the room.
Si Zuochen watched his retreating figure, slowly shook his head, and chuckled bitterly: "He's so impulsive, he really can't wait a moment longer."
Then he went back to typing his code, preparing to create a new game.
On the other side, Si Youlin deliberately stayed close to Gu Nan. At first, Gu Nan thought that he was just bored at the villa and came to her to pass the time.
But soon he noticed something unusual.
Si Youlin's words were always about his father, and he would always bring the topic back to it whenever it veered off course, as if he were talking about the same thing all the time.
A hint of suspicion arose in Gu Nan's heart. She then lowered her eyes to look at Si Youlin and asked softly, "Ah Lin, did you come to see me with ulterior motives?"
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin waved his hands repeatedly, saying, "How could that be? I came here specifically to see you."
"Is that so?" Gu Nan raised an eyebrow slightly, her eyes filled with scrutiny.
Si Youlin chuckled, a hint of embarrassment on his face, and then said, "Alright, then I might also have a little something on my mind. I wanted to ask about Father's recent affairs."
He didn't bring up the topic directly with Gu Nan because he was worried that if it was something serious, Gu Nan would be afraid he would worry and wouldn't tell him.
The only way is to subtly probe and entice him to reveal the truth.
"I knew it..." Gu Nan deliberately feigned disappointment, then accused, "How could you possibly be here just to see me?"
Si Youlin smiled slightly, said a few nice words to appease him, and then steered the conversation back to Si Yanxiao.
He asked about every detail of his daily habits, and then finally steered the conversation to the main point.
“I’ve noticed that my father seems to be preoccupied with something lately, and he’s in a very bad mood. Has something happened?”
As soon as Si Youlin finished speaking, Gu Nan suddenly looked up at him. Si Youlin instantly understood. Seeing his nervous appearance, it seemed that he had guessed correctly.
Gu Nan pursed her lips slightly and then denied it, saying, "It's nothing. Children shouldn't meddle in adult matters."
Gu Nan tried to educate him from the perspective of an elder, but Si Youlin retorted, "Uncle Anan, I'm not a child anymore."
Upon hearing this, Gu Nan lowered her eyes to look at him. A six-year-old child was speaking righteously in front of her, saying that he was not a child. No matter how she looked at it, it didn't sound right.
Yet, the way he said it didn't sound ridiculous.
"I just wanted to do my part for my father, is that not even allowed?"
As he spoke, a hint of disappointment flashed across Si Youlin's face.
Seeing this, Gu Nan pondered for a moment and then said, "Don't overthink it. It's just that your father has been looking for someone but hasn't found any clues lately, so he's inevitably a bit irritable."
Upon hearing Gu Nan's words, a look of surprise flashed across Si Youlin's face: "Looking for someone? Looking for whom?"
After a moment's hesitation, Gu Nan said ambiguously, "It's a woman."
After saying that, he paused slightly, then continued, "But I'm not quite sure who it is."
"A woman?" A hint of doubt appeared in Si Youlin's eyes. Something flashed through his mind, but he didn't think about it too deeply.
Then Fu asked again, "Can't you find it even if you send in a private investigator?"
"Hmm." Gu Nan nodded slightly: "The clues have been eliminated, and all the connections that could be mobilized have been mobilized. It's as if they disappeared out of thin air."
He sighed softly, "It's strange, like something that can't be solved by human effort."
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin's eyes lit up, and a thought instantly appeared in his mind, but he did not show it on his face.
After parting ways with Gu Nan, Si Youlin returned to his room and skillfully searched for several keywords on his computer.
