☆, Chapter 135 Tracking
"How could that be? He clearly..." Si Youlin almost blurted out the truth in his haste.
Seeing this, Si Zuochen quickly pushed him from behind. Si Youlin suddenly realized something and stopped speaking abruptly.
Jiang Ran saw Si Zuochen's little actions but didn't say a word, pretending not to see them.
Si Zuochen spoke up at the right moment, changing the subject: "We are also worried about your relationship with Daddy, after all, we have reached a consensus on some things before."
"Therefore, I have to pay more attention to the progress between you."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran was taken aback, not expecting that they were actually thinking of her.
Then, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, and he asked, "What matter has been agreed upon?"
Si Zuochen hesitated whether to tell her, then lowered his eyes to look at Si Youlin, and the two looked at each other.
After seeing Si Youlin slowly nod in agreement, he then spoke.
"Didn't you want a divorce before? We made it clear to Father that you were better off staying in the Si family than anyone else."
Hearing Si Zuochen's explanation, Jiang Ran's pupils suddenly contracted. She really didn't expect that they would side with her without her knowledge.
Thinking of this, a warm feeling welled up in my heart.
Si Zuochen realized he had said too much, pursed his lips slightly, and then said in a cold and hard voice, "Don't overthink it. We're just too lazy to put in the effort to get along with other people."
Seeing him awkwardly utter harsh words, Jiang Ran chuckled, nodded slightly, and replied in agreement, "Okay, I understand."
Hearing her reply, Si Zuochen's expression softened slightly.
Si Youlin, however, seemed somewhat anxious, his gaze fixed on Jiang Ran.
Jiang Ran turned to look at him, and as soon as their eyes met, Si Youlin quickly asked, "You don't ask about anything, aren't you worried that Father has found someone else outside and doesn't care about you at all?"
As he spoke, his brow furrowed slightly, a hint of doubt on his face.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran's lips curled slightly, and she chuckled softly, "What's there to worry about? He never really cared about me anyway."
Seeing that she admitted it so readily and showed no sign of distress, Si Youlin couldn't help but ask, "Don't you care?"
Jiang Ran was about to shake her head when she noticed that both of them were staring intently at her, and she suddenly realized her identity.
He then frowned slightly, put on a helpless expression, and sighed softly, "What can I do? I'm willing but unable to do anything about it."
"Don't tell me he has a new love interest. Don't you all know the hidden story behind his car accident?"
Upon hearing this, both Si Zuochen and Si Youlin's expressions changed, and they looked at Jiang Ran with more sympathy in their eyes.
Even if I disliked her before, objectively speaking, she was indeed the weaker party in this relationship.
Jiang Ran took in the changes in their expressions and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Si Youlin frowned slightly upon hearing this and said sternly, "Then you should go out with him, just in case something unexpected happens."
"If you can't compete with those who came before you, you shouldn't be able to compete with those who come after you either." Si Youlin's words carried a hint of disdain.
Jiang Ran listened, her lips twitching slightly, somewhat speechless.
His analogy made him feel like he was in a cockfight, arguing back and forth.
Jiang Ran also understood his unspoken meaning; it was clear that he wanted to go along.
Seeing that he still looked sullen, Jiang Ran's heart stirred slightly, and she couldn't help but reply, "Since you've put it that way, shall we go and take a look?"
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin's eyes lit up, and he replied repeatedly, "Great!"
The three then went to the Si Group, only to learn after inquiring that Si Yanxiao had merely made a brief appearance before leaving. Si Youlin's lips curled into a sullen smile.
Jiang Ran glanced down at the time and saw that it was almost time to meet Jiang Yuechen. A sense of unease suddenly flashed through her heart.
His brow furrowed slightly without his noticing, and he spoke up at the opportune moment: "Since we can't find anyone, let's go back first."
"Go back?" Si Youlin's face showed a hint of reluctance.
Just then, Jiang Ran suddenly saw a message from Jiang Yuechen on her phone—Ranran, I have something to do and have to go now. Let's meet again another day.
Jiang Ran paused as she looked at the message, her unease growing stronger.
She knew how much he valued this matter; he had been eagerly awaiting the results ever since they came out, and he would never suddenly stop unless there were special circumstances.
Thinking of this, Jiang Ran frowned slightly, pursed her lips tightly, and secretly calculated what had happened on his side.
Si Zuochen noticed her strange expression and, puzzled, couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
Jiang Ran looked up, met her boss Zuo Chen's probing gaze, her eyes flickered slightly, and slowly shook her head: "It's nothing."
She could vaguely sense that Jiang Yuechen had encountered trouble, but the surrounding spiritual energy was too chaotic, interfering with her calculations.
Jiang Ran lowered her head slightly, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes, but it disappeared in an instant. She then forced a smile at the two of them and said, "I have something to do. Since we can't find him, let's go back first."
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin immediately refused, "No way!"
Realizing his reaction had been somewhat extreme, Si Youlin softened his tone and said again, "Don't give up so easily. We need to find out what he's been up to."
"And what could be more important than this?"
Jiang Ran was about to retort when Si Zuochen spoke up, "I have a way!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran and Si Youlin turned their heads at the same time, looking at him with puzzled expressions.
He shook his watch and explained, "I installed a GPS tracker on Daddy's car so I can know where he is."
"A tracker?" Jiang Ran exclaimed in surprise.
After receiving Si Zuochen's affirmative reply, Jiang Ran's expression stiffened, and she glanced at her car a few times, seemingly casually.
Si Zuochen noticed her movement, coughed twice, and then explained, "Don't worry, I didn't put anything on you."
Jiang Ran breathed a sigh of relief and turned her head to meet her superior You Lin's hopeful gaze.
Slightly hesitant, Si Youlin urged from the side, "Can we go now?"
Jiang Ran couldn't bear to discourage him, so after a moment's thought, she slowly nodded and replied, "Okay."
The three of them followed the direction of Si Zuochen's tracker, but they never expected that their final destination would be a cemetery.
"A cemetery?" Si Youlin looked at the scene before him, a look of surprise flashing across his face.
Si Zuochen pursed his lips, feeling quite puzzled, but he didn't show it on his face. He glanced at Jiang Ran's expression and then said, "It's inside. Let's go in."
Jiang Ran led Si Zuochen and Si Youlin inside and immediately spotted Si Yanxiao, who was dressed in a black suit.
He sat beside a tombstone, his eyes lowered, gently stroking the name on it, his face filled with unconcealed sorrow.
Seeing this, the group looked at each other in bewilderment, none of them having ever seen Si Yanxiao with such an expression.
"So now we..." Jiang Ran was about to ask if they should leave when she saw Si Youlin's face darken and he walked straight toward Si Yanxiao.
"Hey!" Jiang Ran reached out to stop him, but she was too slow. Si Youlin walked up behind Si Yanxiao in a few steps.
Seeing this, Si Zuochen pursed his lips slightly, exchanged a glance with Jiang Ran, and the two instantly understood each other's meaning. They sighed softly and followed behind Si Youlin.
"Daddy."
Upon hearing this, Si Yanxiao's expression froze. He turned his head sharply and saw Si Youlin staring at him coldly, pointing at the tombstone and questioning, "What are you doing here?"
Si Yanxiao's expression changed, and he asked in a deep voice, "Why are you here?"
As soon as he finished speaking, his gaze swept over Jiang Ran behind him, and his expression became even more unpleasant.
"It's you?" Si Yanxiao frowned and asked sharply, "Why did you bring them here?"
Seeing that he had misunderstood, Jiang Ran didn't explain, but her eyes flickered as she looked at the name on the tombstone.
Bai Zhuwei?
Isn't that his first love?
Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen frowned slightly, a flash of displeasure crossing his eyes. He took two steps forward and said, "We asked to come, so it's not her fault."
Jiang Ran felt a warmth in her heart when she saw him speak up for her, which was rare for him.
But to Si Yanxiao, it sounded particularly grating. He felt that Jiang Ran had played a trick to make the two children speak on her behalf.
He stared coldly at Jiang Ran, his eyes filled with malice, and coldly rebuked, "What exactly do you want by secretly following me here?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran suddenly let out a cold laugh: "You come to pay respects to your ex, and you ask me what I want to do?"
