☆, Chapter 149 Exposing

Jiang Ran couldn't help but feel a sense of doubt. Shouldn't a high fever be treated with physical methods to lower the temperature?

Then, a thought struck her, and she looked down at Si Zuochen with a scrutinizing gaze, directly exposing his pretense: "You're faking illness?"

Si Zuochen's eyes flashed, and he lowered his head. Si Youlin, standing to the side, also pursed his lips slightly, his face full of embarrassment at being exposed.

Jiang Ran noticed the change in their expressions and understood immediately. She threw the handkerchief on the table, sat down on the chair by the bed, her eyes filled with disappointment, and asked in a low voice, "Why did you do this?"

Now that I think about it carefully, there were many suspicious points from the moment Si Youlin stopped me from taking his pulse. Someone like Si Zuochen, who is born with the destiny of a dragon and tiger, would find it difficult for such evil spirits to enter his body.

Unless someone maliciously frames you, you will be safe and sound for life and it is very difficult for anything to happen to you.

I was just too worried and didn't think of all that, which is why I was deceived by them for a moment.

Jiang Ran didn't urge him, but just watched him coldly from the side, quietly waiting for his response.

Seeing that Jiang Ran's gaze remained fixed on him, Si Zuochen realized that things had been exposed, and a flash of panic crossed his eyes.

Forcing herself to calm down, she pursed her lips and said softly, "I'm sorry to have worried you."

Seeing that he took the initiative to apologize, Jiang Ran's anger subsided considerably. Her tone softened slightly, and she asked again, "Tell me why?"

Si Zuochen lowered his brow slightly and explained in a low voice, "Your relationship with Daddy is terrible. I originally wanted to use my illness to ease the tension between you two."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran was startled, but instantly understood. He was thinking that if they got sick, they would worry and take care of each other, increasing their time together and communication.

Thinking of this, Jiang Ran pursed her lips slightly and sighed softly, "How could you have such thoughts? You can't joke around with your own body no matter what." Si Zuochen lowered his eyes slightly, a hint of guilt flashing across his face, and then replied softly, "I know, but we've all seen Daddy's attitude towards you, and Alin has also expressed his opinion before. If it were anyone else, it would be better to choose you, so..."

Jiang Ran understood Si Zuochen's meaning as he hesitated, and with a slight lowering of her eyes, she replied softly, "I have my own considerations regarding our matter."

After saying that, she got up and gently touched his forehead. After confirming that his temperature had dropped, she felt a little relieved and continued, "You don't need to be troubled by this kind of thing."

Upon hearing this, Si Youlin suddenly asked, "When are you coming back to live here?"

Jiang Ran listened, looked up and met his expectant gaze, and slowly replied, "Uncle is still in the hospital. I'll go talk to him and then handle the discharge procedures."

“Okay!” Si Youlin nodded and replied.

She then exchanged a glance with Si Zuochen and smiled slightly. Jiang Ran felt a surge of warmth in her heart as she watched their little interaction. After giving a few instructions, she turned and left.

The room fell silent instantly. Si Youlin then asked, "Brother, weren't we planning to keep the truth about her faking illness a secret from her?"

After hearing this, Si Zuochen lowered his eyes slightly and gave a bitter laugh: "She has already guessed it, so what's the use of hiding it anymore? It's better to just state our position directly and make her consider the matter of divorce."

Upon hearing this, Si Youlin nodded as if he understood but not quite.

On the other side, Jiang Ran went to the hospital as promised and then went straight to complete the discharge procedures. Jiang Yuechen frowned slightly, and a hint of displeasure was visible on his face.

Seeing that he seemed lost in thought, Jiang Ran stopped what she was doing and asked softly, "Brother, what's wrong?"

Jiang Yuechen snapped out of his daze, looked up and met her gaze, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes: "Why don't you come stay at my place? That way you won't have to suffer that filth at the Si family's place."

Jiang Ran listened and knew that he was still upset about Si Yanxiao's matter. She smiled slightly and comforted him, "It's okay. I'm not controlled by the Si family. Besides, Achen and Alin are still at home. I'm worried about them."

Hearing her mention the child, Jiang Yuechen pursed his lips, knowing that there was no point in saying anything more, so he could only reply, "In that case, I won't try to persuade you any further. You must tell me if you encounter any difficulties!"

"Okay." Jiang Ran nodded slowly in response.

————

Time flies, and half a month has passed in the blink of an eye. Jiang Ran no longer dwells on the trivial matters between her and Si Yanxiao. Fortunately, the two do not often meet. Even if they cannot avoid each other, Si Yanxiao will treat her as if she were air and walk past her.

So she could focus on managing her business without worry. Jiang Yuechen tried to dissuade her, but to no avail, so he went along with her wishes.

They even helped to gradually commercialize her online store's marketing model, popularize it to the public, and get people in the business world to help promote it, making her famous overnight.

With so many visitors, it wasn't appropriate for these mystical items to be displayed at home, lest they arouse Si Yanxiao's suspicion. After Jiang Yuechen found out, he specially bought her a shop as a private space to store talismans and Bagua symbols.

Jiang Ran looked down as Si Youlin helped her move packages and send them to the courier service. Si Zuochen was printing out the shipping labels, while Jiang Yuechen, whose mobility was limited, was in charge of reviewing the shipments. The group worked together without interfering with each other, and everything proceeded in an orderly manner.

Looking at the harmonious scene before her, Jiang Ran felt a slight pang in her heart and suddenly thought that if life could be like this, day after day, it wouldn't be a bad choice.

While she was lost in thought, she saw Si Youlin stumble and quickly stepped forward to support him, saying softly, "Be careful."

Si Youlin nodded, a slight smile playing on his lips, and said, "It's nothing, it's nothing."

After saying that, he walked outside.

Jiang Ran returned to her original spot and went back to doing her own thing, drawing talismans based on the order she received.

Si Zuochen paused, his gaze towards Jiang Ran hardening slightly. A fleeting look of worry crossed his face as he lowered his eyes, concealing his sullen mood.

As dusk approached, Jiang Ran stopped what she was doing, stretched slowly, and chuckled, "That's all for today's work. I can go home now."

As he spoke, he paused slightly, then suddenly remembered something and joked to himself, "Luckily no one reported me, otherwise I would be employing child labor."

Upon hearing this, Si Youlin was taken aback, but Jiang Yuechen burst out laughing first.

Jiang Ran finished up the remaining tasks and was about to part ways with Jiang Yuechen with the two children when her gaze swept over him and she suddenly noticed that his forehead was dark, an ominous sign.

Her expression suddenly changed. Jiang Yuechen noticed her unusual behavior, raised an eyebrow slightly, and asked softly, "What's wrong?"

Jiang Ran looked displeased and replied directly, "I noticed that there's some darkness between your eyebrows. Something bad might happen to you soon."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yuechen's expression froze for a moment, then he chuckled and said, "I live a very simple life, going between two points all day long, with a driver always by my side. What could possibly happen?"

"You've had so many orders lately, you've become obsessed with drawing talismans, haven't you?"

Despite Jiang Yuechen's teasing, Jiang Ran remained unperturbed, her expression still grave.

Then he took a talisman out of his pocket and handed it to him, saying in a low voice, "Listen to me on this matter, just in case."

Knowing that Jiang Yuechen didn't believe in this, she quickly and patiently tried to persuade him.

Jiang Yuechen couldn't bear to disappoint her, so he took the talisman and casually put it in his pocket, replying softly, "Okay."

After the group parted ways, Jiang Ran took the child back to the villa. Along the way, Si Youlin kept talking about his feelings about helping out today, while Si Zuochen remained silent, looking out the window with a thoughtful expression.

Back at the villa, Jiang Ran parked the car in the underground garage and walked towards the main hall with the children, reminding them, "You've all worked hard today. Go back, wash up, and get some rest."

As soon as she finished speaking, she looked up and saw Si Yanxiao sitting on the sofa. She didn't expect to run into him here.

Jiang Ran paused slightly as she was about to leave, but Si Youlin spoke first, calling out, "Daddy."

Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen looked up and echoed the call.

Hearing the noise, Si Yanxiao saw them getting along harmoniously, chatting and laughing, and found the scene before him extremely irritating.

He showed no sign of it on his face, and nodded slightly in response.

Jiang Ran had no intention of having anything to do with him. She reached out and tugged at Si Zuochen, about to leave.

Unexpectedly, Si Yanxiao's thin lips moved slightly, and he said in a cold voice, "Wait!"
