Chapter 376 Confession
Repeated attempts were made, but all ended in failure.
Just then, hurried footsteps came from outside the door. Looking up, they saw Si Yanxiao push the door open and walk in.
Jiang Ran paused, and before she could speak, she saw Si Yanxiao staring at her with unfocused eyes, murmuring, "Ranran..."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran was taken aback, feeling somewhat bewildered by his sudden form of address.
The relationship between the two doesn't seem to have reached that point yet...
Thinking of this, Jiang Ran slowly stood up and noticed an unusual flush on his face. A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes, and she quickly walked closer, exclaiming in surprise, "You have a fever?"
As she spoke, she prepared to reach out and check his temperature.
Jiang Ran was startled when her hand was suddenly grasped by him. She looked up and felt a strange emotion flash in his eyes.
It's hard to explain.
It's like love, and it's like reluctance to part...
Just as Jiang Ran was slightly stunned, Si Yanxiao suddenly reached out and pulled her, and the two bumped into each other instantly.
"Hmm..."
Jiang Ran stared wide-eyed at the suddenly enlarged handsome face before her, the warmth on his lips a constant reminder of their current situation.
A sudden jolt ran through her heart. Before she could react, she felt Si Yanxiao's lips moving as if he were drawing something in.
Jiang Ran had never had any deep contact with men in either of her two lives, and now that she had suddenly encountered this situation, she was at a loss as to how to handle it.
The drug's effects intensified within Si Yanxiao, causing him to reflexively want to get closer to her. His eyes flickered slightly as he leaned close to Jiang Ran's ear, his voice hoarse, and suddenly whispered, "Jiang Ran, I like you."
A sudden tingling sensation ran through Jiang Ran's ears, and she shuddered slightly. She never expected that Si Yanxiao would confess to her at this moment.
But she could also tell from his physical signs that he was clearly different.
Her lips pursed slightly, and a hint of helplessness flashed across her face.
Then Si Yanxiao spoke again in a low voice: "Could you... not leave, give me another chance?"
If you listen carefully, there's even a hint of pleading in his tone.
Jiang Ran felt as if she had been frozen in place, never expecting Si Yanxiao to act so abnormally.
It is said that people speak the truth when they are drunk. Is the same principle true after the effects of drugs wear off?
For some reason, besides feeling flustered, Jiang Ran also felt a sudden flutter of excitement.
A dark glint flashed in Si Yanxiao's eyes as he slowly approached her, gently licking her earlobe. Jiang Ran felt a strange sensation throughout her body, and her legs felt weak.
Si Yanxiao gently touched her back, pulled her onto the bed, kissed her neck, and lingered down her body.
Jiang Ran closed her eyes slightly, her mind a blur. Suddenly, a thought arose in her mind: why not just go with the flow and indulge herself this once...
With her collar undone, a gust of autumn wind swept in from the window. A moment of clarity flashed through Jiang Ran's mind. She reached out to push him away, but Si Yanxiao remained as steady as a mountain.
Seeing that things were heading in an irreversible direction, Jiang Ran delivered a karate chop. As it fell, Si Yanxiao paused, his emotions dissipated, his eyes closed, and he suddenly collapsed towards her.
Seeing this, Jiang Ran quickly pushed him to the side to avoid him falling on her.
The strange sensation beneath her body constantly reminded her of his unusual state, and a blush immediately flashed across Jiang Ran's face.
She quickly got up and opened the window wide. A cool breeze swept in, and the intense emotions from before dissipated for a moment with the cold air. As her consciousness gradually cleared, Jiang Ran walked to Si Yanxiao's side, looked down at him, and her eyes held a strange emotion.
She didn't know what had happened to him; his sudden intrusion and confession were completely out of character, leaving her feeling bewildered.
Jiang Ran pursed her lips slightly, her thoughts racing. She suddenly recalled the scene of their first meeting when they were at odds, and now it seemed like only a few days had passed.
But I never imagined that so much time had passed when I counted the days.
As for her place in his heart, she never imagined that she would occupy such an important position in his heart.
Thinking back on the harsh words I had said to him, a sense of regret welled up in my heart.
His attitude had always been ambiguous, and even she couldn't figure it out. She never expected there to be such a hidden story behind it.
Looking down at his expression, Jiang Ran's eyes darkened, her lips pursed slightly, and she couldn't help but reach out and gently touch his brow.
Just then, a sudden knocking sounded at the door.
Jiang Ran quickly withdrew her hand, looked around to make sure there was nothing unusual, and then said, "Come in!"
Si Youlin pushed open the door and entered. When he saw Si Yanxiao on her bed, his eyes flickered and a look of surprise flashed across his face.
Seeing this, Jiang Ran was worried that he would misunderstand, so she quickly explained, "He has a fever, and I was just about to make him some medicine."
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin noticed an unusual blush on his face but did not suspect anything and simply nodded.
Seeing that he didn't seem suspicious, Jiang Ran felt a little relieved. Then, she asked with a hint of doubt, "Is there something you need?"
"It's nothing." Si Youlin slowly shook his head and said softly, "I saw the butler dismiss all the servants just now, and I thought something had happened, so I came to check."
Although his tone was indifferent, the worry in his words was clearly visible.
A warm feeling rose in Jiang Ran's heart. She nodded slightly and replied softly, "It's nothing. He's just sick right now, and the people behind the scenes are eyeing him covetously. We have to keep it a secret from outsiders."
She was just making things up, and she had a rough idea of why Si Yanxiao dismissed the servants, but she certainly couldn't explain the reason behind it.
So he simply used this matter as an excuse to explain. After hearing this, Si Youlin pursed his lips slightly, responded in a low voice, and then looked up at Si Yanxiao, his brows furrowing slightly, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes.
She asked softly, "Daddy... will anything happen to him?"
Jiang Ran knew that he was cold on the outside but warm on the inside. Even if he had a grudge against Bai Zhuwei, Si Yanxiao was different to him. So she took two steps forward, gently patted his head, and whispered, "It's nothing, just a common fever."
"Then I'll brew the medicine for you," Si Youlin said readily.
Jiang Ran had only said it casually, but seeing his urging, she couldn't refuse any longer and had no choice but to agree.
The two walked downstairs together. Before leaving, Jiang Ran gave him a rather sympathetic look.

When Si Yanxiao woke up, he could vaguely smell a pungent Chinese medicine odor. He frowned and slowly opened his eyes to look.
He was suddenly struck by a strange yet familiar environment. His mind went blank for a moment, then he realized that he was in Jiang Ran's room.
He had only been here a handful of times, so it was understandable that the place looked somewhat unfamiliar.
Suddenly, a joyful voice rang in my ears: "Daddy's awake!"
Upon hearing this, Si Yanxiao turned his head and saw Si Youlin staring intently at him with a glint in his eyes.
Jiang Ran, who was leaning on the side of the cabinet with her elbows, opened her eyes and saw that the two of them were looking at each other.
In an instant, some images from before he fainted flashed through Si Yanxiao's mind. His outrageous behavior not only did not disappear with his fainting, but became even more obvious after he regained consciousness.
The past events constantly remind me of the foolish things I've done.
Thinking of this, a hint of unease flashed across Si Yanxiao's face. He then coughed twice and asked, feigning ignorance, "How did I get here?"
Seeing his confused expression, Jiang Ran couldn't tell whether he genuinely had no recollection of it or was just putting on a show.
Before she could speak, Si Youlin explained from the side, "You have a fever."
As she spoke, she brought over the medicine from the side and said in a deep voice, "This is fever-reducing medicine that Jiang Ran brewed for you. It will be reheated every half hour so that you can drink it when you wake up."
Upon hearing this, Si Yanxiao was taken aback, and a wave of speechless emotion washed over him. He also realized where the pungent smell he had smelled earlier had come from.
He disliked the smell of Chinese medicine the most, and Jiang Ran must know that. Turning his head, he saw Jiang Ran looking at him with a half-smile, her eyes full of mockery.
It's obvious that he's using this as an opportunity to prepare for revenge.
Si Yanxiao looked helpless, but still politely declined to speak: "Actually, I can just take Western medicine."
“How can that be?” Jiang Ran suddenly spoke up from the side, “Ah Lin personally supervised the work, don’t waste his good intentions.”
