Chapter 42 Abnormal Behavior

Chapter 42 Abnormal Behavior

Then the two of them looked at Jiang Ran at the same time, thinking that she might decline, so they took the opportunity to suggest changing to something else.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Ran looked up at them, then nodded and said, "Okay, thank you very much."

Grandpa Si smiled and didn't seem to care at all.

Gu Nan frowned slightly as she looked at Jiang Ran, unable to help but feel suspicious. Could this be what she had wanted all along?

They agreed so readily, without even bothering with formalities.

If his guess is true, then all of this is within Jiang Ran's plan.

That means it's very likely... that she orchestrated this whole thing!

Thinking of this, Gu Nan suddenly felt a little frightened.

He always felt that Jiang Ran couldn't have predicted things so accurately, but if everything was going according to plan, then her mind was far too deep!

Gu Nan was lost in his thoughts when he heard Old Master Si say that he wanted him to visit him in the hospital.

The butler hurriedly went to prepare the car.

When Si Zuochen saw Old Master Si arrive, he was delighted. Just as he was about to say something, he noticed that Jiang Ran, the uninvited guest, was following behind him.

His face suddenly fell.

Jiang Ran glanced at his changing expression and pursed her lips.

I never expected that he had two faces.

Grandpa Si affectionately patted Si Zuochen's head, then walked to the bedside, looking at Si Youlin's pale face with eyes full of heartache.

Seeing this, Gu Nan quickly moved a chair to the bedside, and Old Master Si sat down.

She asked softly, "Ah Lin, how are you feeling right now?"

Si Youlin smiled and said, "Grandpa, I'm fine. You don't need to come all this way to see me."

Seeing how sensible the two children were, Old Master Si felt even more heartache.

"It's alright." She looked at Si Zuochen and said, "Achen has been taking care of his younger brother for a long time and hasn't had a break either."

Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen shook his head: "It's okay, I'm not tired."

Grandpa Si seemed not to hear him and looked at Jiang Ran directly, saying, "It's not good for the child to stay in the hospital for too long. You should take him home and let him rest properly."

Upon hearing Old Master Si's words, Si Zuochen immediately exclaimed, "I don't want to!"

Jiang Ran also looked shocked. She took him back alone?

Judging from the current situation, it seems that their personalities are not well-suited to coexist.

Upon hearing his refusal, Old Master Si frowned: "Are you going to disobey your grandfather?"

Seeing his displeasure, Old Master Si understood his thoughts perfectly.

In his view, Jiang Ran had already changed, and now they should have more contact so they could get to know each other better.

Seeing that Si Zuochen remained silent, Old Master Si spoke up again, saying, "There are doctors here, that's enough. You'll only be wasting your rest by staying here."

Upon hearing this, Si Youlin spoke up at the opportune moment, saying, "Brother, you should go back first. You can come see me during the day."

Seeing this, Si Zuochen had no choice but to nod in agreement.

On the way back, the two sat side by side in the back seat, with Si Zuochen's attitude towards Jiang Ran filled with disdain.

Even though Jiang Ran didn't speak to him, she could feel his cold and hostile attitude towards her.

"Did you orchestrate this?!" Suddenly, Si Zuochen's question came from beside him.

Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow, a hint of sarcasm on her face: "If I had planned this, would I have needed to save you? Don't talk about me directing and acting; I wouldn't stoop to such a charade."

Jiang Ran's words silenced Si Zuochen's doubts.

Then, he continued, seemingly to himself, "It was your own carelessness; don't try to shift the blame onto others."

"How were we careless?" Si Zuochen asked coldly.

Jiang Ran pursed her lips slightly and remained silent.

She couldn't very well tell him that someone had used witchcraft, could she? That would only make him think she was talking nonsense.

Seeing that Jiang Ran did not respond, Si Zuochen sneered, "Can't answer? You better not give me any leverage over you."

Jiang Ran glanced down at him, her tone tinged with helplessness: "Fine, don't believe me then."

Then he leaned back and closed his eyes to rest.

She had been expending all her spiritual energy searching for people all day, and she had already barely managed to hold on at the hospital.

Exhausted both physically and mentally, she was too lazy to waste words with him.

Anyway, she wouldn't believe him anyway, and it would only lead to pointless arguments. She didn't have time to care about him now. Seeing that Jiang Ran had closed her eyes and ignored him, Si Zuochen couldn't help but frown, then scoffed and looked out the window.

He didn't know whether what she said was true or false; there were many suspicious points, so he simply didn't believe her.

Upon arriving at the villa, the butler, seeing Si Zuochen return, immediately asked, "Young Master, where have you been?"

Jiang Ran then realized that no one had informed them yet, and before Si Zuochen could answer, she simply explained a few words.

The text only mentions that Si Youlin had a high fever and they were at the hospital, and they hadn't had time to inform their family yet, omitting the part about them searching for someone.

Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen looked up and gave her a meaningful look.

Indeed, it's no good for people to know too much about these things, but I never expected that she would think the same way I did.

Upon hearing this, the butler repeatedly inquired about Si Youlin's condition and breathed a sigh of relief after learning that he was alright.

Seeing Jiang Ran's exhausted face, he quickly said, "Madam, why don't you go upstairs and rest? I'll have someone bring you a cup of hot milk later to help you relax."

Jiang Ran shook her head and said softly, "No need, I want to go see the master."

What she needs right now is not warm milk, but rest.

What she needs is the spiritual power of the person upstairs!

Unfortunately, she couldn't say that to them. Seeing their surprised expressions, Jiang Ran quickly explained, "I saw the old man today, and he asked me to help take care of him."

The butler listened, still shaken by what she had done before, but since she had brought up the old man, he couldn't very well refuse.

He had no choice but to say, "Then I'll go with you."

"No."

Having said that, he didn't bother to see their reactions and went straight upstairs.

She felt that without the support of spiritual energy, she would not be able to hold on any longer.

Si Zuochen frowned slightly, looking at her unusual behavior, worried that she had ulterior motives and wanted to hurt his father.

He quickly gestured for the butler to be quiet and followed behind.

What are you going to do?

Si Zuochen spoke coldly, and Jiang Ran was about to touch the man's subordinate when she suddenly realized that the child was following her so elusively.

She's so exhausted of spiritual energy that she can't even detect a child following her.

A sense of irritation swept through her heart, but Jiang Ran still frowned.

"Do I need your permission to take care of my husband?"

As she spoke, she called for a maid to bring a basin of hot water and washed the towel herself.

Taking care of the father?

Would she really be that kind?

Si Zuochen sneered, "Are you going to take care of him, or are you going to harm him?"
