Chapter 222 Obstruction
"This is the last time!" Si Yanxiao said coldly, and Si Youlin nodded slightly after hearing it.
Seeing that her unauthorized departure from home was over, she quickly got back to the main topic, looked at Si Yanxiao, and said in a deep voice, "Daddy, you can't do this!"
"That woman being kidnapped is her business, what does it have to do with Jiang Ran? Why should she take responsibility for her?"
Si Youlin spoke up and expressed his opinion. Si Yanxiao listened, his eyes narrowed slightly, and his expression remained unreadable.
"Children shouldn't meddle in such matters," Si Yanxiao replied in a deep voice. Then, he glanced at Jiang Ran seemingly casually, and seeing that her expression remained unchanged, a hint of doubt flashed through his mind.
"Daddy!" Si Youlin frowned slightly, and his voice involuntarily rose a little.
Seeing the two arguing on the roadside, Jiang Ran turned to look at Si Youlin, sighed helplessly, and said, "It's alright, don't worry."
"We will naturally consider this matter; just leave it to us to handle."
Hearing Jiang Ran's words of comfort, a look of disbelief flashed across Si Youlin's face.
After all, in his view, Bai Zhuwei had a different meaning to his father, and he also knew the truth about their elopement after the car accident.
This is why he was worried that Si Yanxiao might actually do something detrimental to Jiang Ran, since everyone knew about his relationship with Bai Zhuwei.
Thinking of this, Si Youlin looked up at Jiang Ran, then slowly shook his head, signaling her not to go.
Seeing that he was thinking of her wholeheartedly, Jiang Ran pursed her lips slightly. When Si Youlin saw that she didn't respond, a look of anxiety flashed across his face.
Jiang Ran reached out and gently touched his head, softly advising, "Go back quickly, it's alright."
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin shook his head repeatedly, his face full of resistance.
Si Yanxiao glanced down at the time, a hint of impatience flashing between his brows. He beckoned slightly to the bodyguard beside him, who quickly stepped forward, bowed slightly, and said respectfully, "Mr. Si."
Si Yanxiao nodded slightly, then pointed at Si Youlin and instructed, "Send him back to the villa."
Upon hearing this, the bodyguard looked at Si Youlin with surprise, wondering what the relationship was between him and Si Yanxiao.
He didn't dare ask any further questions and quickly replied, "Okay."
Then he walked to Si Youlin's side and said softly, "Little friend, shall I take you home?"
Si Youlin seemed not to hear his words, his lips pressed tightly together, staring intently at Si Yanxiao, without uttering a reply.
He seemed determined to fight Si Yanxiao to the end, but Si Yanxiao was worried that he would ruin his plans because of him.
Without even bothering to offer any advice, he simply waved slightly to his bodyguard and said in a deep voice, "Take him away directly."
Upon hearing this, the bodyguard nodded in agreement and then, as if given permission, reached out to pull Si Youlin, but Si Youlin remained unmoved.
Si Yanxiao was still watching coldly in front of him. In a moment of impatience, the bodyguard picked up Si Youlin and lifted him up. Si Youlin was suddenly lifted into the air and was startled. He then thrashed around, struggling to get down.
"Let me go! Put me down!"
The voices of resistance gradually faded into the distance. Seeing that he couldn't break free, Si Youlin hurriedly shouted, "You absolutely can't go! You absolutely can't!"
As Jiang Ran listened, a surge of warmth suddenly rose in her heart.
Si Yanxiao found the scene of "deep mother-son affection" unfolding right before his eyes extremely jarring.
His eyes narrowed instantly, and he said in a cold voice, "Let's go."
After saying that, he turned and left, and Jiang Ran quickly followed.
On the other side, the bodyguards were very dutiful in preparing to escort Si Youlin back to the villa.
Along the way, Si Youlin was forced to return, his face full of gloom, his brows furrowed, and his expression displeased.
The bodyguard wanted to offer words of comfort, but didn't know where to begin.
Si Youlin lowered his eyes to look out the window, when suddenly a thought flashed through his mind. He looked up sharply at the bodyguard and asked in a low voice, "Can you take me to the Si family's old residence?"
The bodyguard looked troubled upon hearing his request.
Seeing this, Si Youlin said in a deep voice, "What's there to hesitate about? I just want to visit my elders, is that not allowed?"
Seeing this, the bodyguard pondered for a moment and replied in a low voice, "Okay."
Then he drove Si Youlin directly to the old house, watched him walk away, and waited outside for a while to make sure he wouldn't come out again. Only after completing the mission did he drive away.
Si Youlin went straight to the old master's bedroom and saw him lying half-reclined on the bed, his face slightly more rosy than before.
Si Zuochen sat on the chair by the bed and slowly fed him fruit.
Si Youlin knocked lightly on the door twice as a gesture, then walked in. Hearing the sound, the two turned around at the same time. When they saw Si Youlin, a look of joy flashed across the old man's face.
She waved to him repeatedly and called out softly, "Ah Lin! Come here quickly!"
Si Youlin slowly walked up to him, a slight smile playing on his lips, and asked gently, "Grandpa, how have you been feeling lately?"
Upon hearing this, Old Master Si waved his hand lightly and replied, "It has improved somewhat, so don't worry too much."
"Hmm," Si Youlin replied softly.
Then he lowered his eyes and looked at Si Zuochen as if nothing had happened. Si Zuochen noticed that his gaze was fixed on him.
With a slight lift of their eyes, their gazes met in mid-air, and Si Zuochen instantly understood.
She stood up and looked at the old man, saying, "Grandpa, I'm going out to check how the medicine is being prepared."
"Okay." Old Master Si nodded and replied softly.
Si Zuochen pursed his lips, glanced thoughtfully at Si Youlin, and then turned and left.
After Si Zuochen left, Si Youlin quickly made up an excuse and turned to leave as well.
As soon as he stepped out the door, just as he was about to look around for Si Zuochen, he saw him come out from the corner of the stairs and wave to him. Si Youlin quickly walked towards him.
The two faced each other, and before Si Youlin could speak, Si Zuochen asked, "What happened?"
Si Youlin listened, a look of surprise flashing across his face, before asking, "How did you know?"
Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen's eyes revealed a hint of helplessness, and he said in a deep voice, "I don't come here unless I have a reason. Besides, I only take care of Grandpa during the day and go back at night."
"If something hadn't happened, why would you be here at this time?" Si Youlin nodded repeatedly after hearing this, and then said, "There is indeed a particularly troublesome matter."
Then, before Si Zuochen could ask any questions, Si Youlin recounted the whole story in detail.
She also told Si Zuochen everything about Lu Ziyi, which she had deliberately hidden from Si Yanxiao.
Upon hearing this, a sinister look flashed across Si Zuochen's face.
Then he came over and sneered coldly, "Is Lu Ziyi looking for death? How dare he maliciously harm you!"
Upon hearing this, a look of disgust flashed across Si Youlin's face.
A voice chimed in coldly from the sidelines: "Heh...in the end, didn't we still return empty-handed?"
"That was just a coincidence. What if something really happened?"
Si Zuochen listened with great concern, and his tone became slightly harsher.
"It's alright," Si Youlin said gently, trying to reassure her. "Does someone as brainless as him think he can deal with me?"
This would have been a joke and quickly forgotten if it happened to any other child, but it happened to Si Youlin.
Despite her young age, she possesses remarkable courage.
Seeing that her expression was completely normal, Si Zuochen glanced at her and suddenly remembered something else from their conversation. His brow furrowed and his expression turned cold.
Fu then spoke coldly, "Jiang Ran just left with him like that?!"
"Hmm." Si Youlin replied, a look of disappointment flashing across his face. He said in a low voice, "I've tried to persuade her for a long time, but she seems to have no intention of listening to me."
Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen's eyes sharpened, and a cold glint flashed across his face.
Si Yanxiao's intentions were obvious, but how could Jiang Ran not know his true purpose? Why would she agree to it?
Thinking of this, Si Zuochen frowned, and he gradually began to worry about Jiang Ran.
A life for a life, it's truly astonishing that the kidnappers behind the scenes could even say something like that!
Meanwhile, on the other side, Si Yanxiao drove quickly to the scene. Jiang Ran sat in the passenger seat, looking down out the window with an unreadable expression in her eyes.
The current contrast between Si Youlin's anxiety and Si Yanxiao's indifference is stark.
Upon further reflection, why would the kidnappers mention her name? Could there be some connection between them?
Clearly, the other side came prepared!
Jiang Ran lowered her eyes and pondered deeply, her gaze flickering slightly, her confusion growing stronger.
