Chapter 226 Pre-arrangements
What's said is said, and there's no going back on it now; there's no use regretting it later.
Si Yanxiao reached out and lightly touched the tip of his nose, a strange expression flashing across his face.
Si Zuochen acted as if he hadn't seen it and continued, "I don't think Ah Lin is wrong. After all, the Si family has never needed to use the weak to gain a moment of peace."
Si Yanxiao was surprised when he heard Si Zuochen's words, but a sense of approval suddenly rose in his heart.
Surprise flashed in his eyes as he realized that someone so young could speak such a long speech.
Before Si Yanxiao could respond, Si Zuochen ignored him and walked straight to the bedside, looking at Bai Zhuwei with disdain in his eyes.
He spoke up sarcastically, "You say you don't know anything about this? Fine, let's put this behind us for now."
"Then let me ask you, you knew that Daddy already had a family and children, so why did you shamelessly stay by his side? Didn't you know that your behavior of destroying other people's families is illegal?!"
Si Zuochen questioned him sharply, and Si Youlin, secretly pleased, chimed in, "Exactly! Shameless!"
Seeing that the two were saying increasingly harsh things, Bai Zhuwei did not try to refute them at all. She just lowered her head timidly, looking like a victim.
Si Zuochen had seen her true colors before, and seeing her in this disguise now, he felt a chill run down his spine. His brows furrowed, and he stared at her coldly.
Si Yanxiao listened to the standoff between the two sides and was instantly caught in a dilemma. On one side was his child, and on the other was his lover from six years ago. Helping either side would be biased.
He then sighed softly to himself, a chill running down his spine.
Si Zuochen spoke eloquently, and even stood on the moral high ground to condemn Bai Zhuwei. Bai Zhuwei's eyes narrowed, but her expression remained unchanged.
She pursed her lips slightly, slowly shook her head, and then softly replied, "You don't need to worry. I really knew nothing about Jiang Ran's matter, and Ayan had already made a plan beforehand, so she will be fine."
"Furthermore, you're saying that my relationship with Ayan is ambiguous?"
He paused slightly as he spoke, his gaze lowered, but he couldn't hide the disappointment on his face. He then continued, "You've misunderstood. Between us... we're just friends."
“I know he has his own life now, so I’ve been avoiding bothering him. This was just an accident…”
Bai Zhuwei slowly explained, her tone showing no impatience, and she did not refute what Si Zuochen and Si Youlin had said earlier.
It was as if they were blaming someone else, a stark contrast to the reprimands they had just given her.
Si Yanxiao saw all of this, then looked at Si Zuochen, pursed his lips, and said in a deep voice, "Aren't you two going to apologize for what you just said?"
Si Zuochen listened, his brows furrowing slightly, his eyes suddenly sharpening.
Before he could even speak, Bai Zhuwei stepped in to smooth things over, saying softly, "Ayan, it's alright."
"They are just children, they don't understand things very well yet."
With just one sentence, she directly defined Si Zuochen and Si Youlin, as if the two of them had really been being unreasonable, and it was strange that she, as an elder, would not bother with them.
Si Zuochen's eyes sharpened as he listened to her meaningful words, and she then said, "Don't worry, I won't stoop to their level."
Her words inadvertently revealed her magnanimity, and Si Yanxiao's gaze towards her softened even more.
Si Zuochen saw this and felt it was utterly mocking.
His eyes flashed, and he suddenly noticed Bai Zhuwei looking at him. The corners of his lips curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile.
Seeing this scene, Si Zuochen frowned suddenly. Si Youlin also saw her expression and instantly realized that her feigned understanding was only for Si Yanxiao's benefit.
In their presence, they will still reveal their true colors.
Si Youlin found the scene before him utterly ironic and was about to argue when Si Zuochen, seeing his intention, reached out to stop him. He then didn't glance at Bai Zhuwei again, nor did he notice Si Yanxiao's expression.
He looked directly at Si Youlin and said in a deep voice, "Let's go!"
Si Youlin's eyes flickered slightly, his face showing confusion. Looking at Bai Zhuwei, he felt a surge of resentment rising in his heart, but he forcibly suppressed his emotions and said nothing more. He followed behind Si Zuochen and left directly.
Watching the two figures disappear into the distance, a strange emotion flashed in Si Yanxiao's eyes. Bai Zhuwei noticed his unusual expression and then gently comforted him.
"It's alright, the children were just acting rashly. Once they know the truth, they'll understand."
Despite Bai Zhuwei's words of comfort, Si Yanxiao remained uncomfortable. After a long while, he sighed softly and replied in a low voice, "I hope so."
Bai Zhuwei's eyes flickered slightly as she thought of Jiang Ran, but her mind was filled with a myriad of thoughts.
On the other side, Si Youlin couldn't wait to ask as soon as he left the ward, "Brother, that woman was obviously just pretending! Why did you stop me from exposing her?!"
Hearing Si Youlin's question, Si Zuochen slowly shook his head and explained in a low voice, "How can we expose her?! That woman is a master of disguise. Do you think exposing her will be of any use?"
"Given how much Daddy values her, what if she turns around and accuses us? Wouldn't that just bring us unnecessary trouble?"
Hearing Si Zuochen's explanation, Si Youlin pursed his lips slightly, a look of surprise flashing across his face.
Unexpectedly, this woman was so cunning, and he couldn't help but worry that Jiang Ran was no match for her.
Thinking of this, a hint of worry appeared on their brows. Just as the two were walking towards the main hall of the hospital, they unexpectedly bumped into Jiang Ran, who had come for treatment.
Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow, a look of shock flashing across her face. She quickly stepped forward and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Si Youlin was about to explain when he heard her question, and also recount what had happened in the inner room earlier.
But his brother gave him a subtle push. Si Youlin turned his head and saw his brother slowly shaking his head at him, indicating that he should not say anything more.
Seeing this, Si Youlin pursed his lips, suppressing his displeasure, and then glanced around. Noticing the injury on Jiang Ran's arm, which was still wrapped in bandages, his eyes suddenly turned cold.
He quickly asked, "What happened to your hand?"
After saying that, his brows furrowed, and a look of worry flashed across his face.
Jiang Ran listened and then offered a few explanations. The matter was over, and there was no need to hide anything. She then explained what had happened to the two of them.
Upon hearing this, the two men's eyes suddenly sharpened. They hadn't expected that Jiang Ran had already made plans for the very thing that had worried them for so long.
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin pursed his lips slightly and then asked, "When did you decide on this plan?"
Jiang Ran listened, touched the tip of her nose lightly, coughed twice, and slowly said, "Before leaving the house."
A look of surprise flashed across Si Youlin's face, and he asked, "But why didn't you mention it at all outside the company earlier?"
Jiang Ran sensed a hint of accusation in Si Youlin's words. Her lips pursed slightly, and an unnatural expression flashed across her face. She quickly explained.
"After all, this matter involves hostages, and there are only a handful of people who know about it. The more people who know, the more difficult it will be to handle."
"Furthermore, we were standing on the side of the road at the time, and now we're in the eye of the storm. If someone hears us, wouldn't all our efforts be in vain?"
Hearing Jiang Ran's explanation, Si Youlin's eyes narrowed slightly, and a hint of complaint flashed in his tone.

Jiang Ran smiled slightly and replied softly, "It's nothing, just a minor injury."
Compared to the injuries she sustained, it was the attitude between Si Zuochen and Si Youlin that shocked her even more.
Thinking that her kindness towards them over the past few days had been rewarded, a strange emotion flashed through Jiang Ran's heart again.
She then looked at Si Zuochen and asked softly, "Don't worry, it's a small problem."
