☆, Chapter Forty-Six: A New Perspective
"How did you know?" Jiang Ran frowned slightly, her gaze towards him becoming more wary.
Si Jiliang glanced at her indifferently and said coldly, "I know more than just this."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran's eyes flashed with displeasure: "Since you know my intentions, why did you still come to see me?"
"What? Do you think I'm just a clown in front of you?"
Upon hearing this, Si Jiliang raised an eyebrow, glanced at the cup on the table, and replied softly, "No, you don't need to overthink it."
"It's just that you've been acting strangely, and I'm afraid you might do something drastic, so I came to ask if you have any plans to sell your stocks again."
Will they strike again?
Ha... How interesting. No wonder he agreed to meet so readily; it turns out he had his own plans.
Seeing this, Jiang Ran sneered and directly refused: "Sorry, I have no such intention. Does this mean you are unwilling to sell the shares to me again?"
Si Jiliang shrugged and said unhurriedly, "There's nothing I can do, the terms weren't agreed upon."
Seeing that the matter was beyond repair, Jiang Ran's heart sank, and she forced a smile: "You can think about it again, maybe?"
"Yes, you too. You can contact me when you want to sell, and you can set the price."
Both men coveted the other's shares, but neither was willing to make a move, so they resorted to this kind of word game.
Seeing this, Jiang Ran looked puzzled and asked, "Then why are you so obsessed with the Si family's shares?"
"Since you said that I would set the price, and that you don't care even if I ask for an exorbitant price, it means that you are not short of money."
"Do you expect to acquire these shares and become the largest shareholder of the Si Group?"
As she spoke, she couldn't help but chuckle.
Hearing her words, a hint of mockery flashed across Si Jiliang's face. He raised an eyebrow and retorted, "You're overthinking it. I just don't want you to hand these things over to others."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran nodded and echoed, "That's right, after all, we shouldn't let the good stuff go to outsiders."
As soon as Jiang Ran finished speaking, Si Jiliang's pupils suddenly contracted, and his dark eyes stared intently at him, making it impossible to fathom his emotions.
What did she mean by that?
What does she know?
Si Jiliang was momentarily taken aback. He had been in the lead, but now it felt as if a long-hidden secret had been discovered.
Jiang Ran seemed oblivious to his odd behavior, and made herself a cup of tea before speaking softly, "So, now, are we in a position to talk again?"
She was threatening herself...
A hint of displeasure flashed across Si Jiliang's face, and his tone became somewhat unfriendly: "When did you find out?"
Jiang Ran took a sip of tea and slowly said, "What do you know? That you're a member of the Si family?"
She stated her point directly, then let out a cold sneer.
"I never imagined that Old Master Si would have a younger son. How many people do you think knew about this?"
Si Jiliang frowned and asked in a deep voice, "I underestimated you; your information network is surprisingly good."
Hearing his sarcasm, Jiang Ran slightly curled her lips, completely unconcerned.
"Besides this, what else do you know?"
Jiang Ran pursed her lips and replied softly, "It's much more than you think."
Upon hearing this, Si Jiliang's expression changed. She was retaliating against her with the words she had just spoken to her.
Jiang Ran looked at the change in his expression and lowered her eyes slightly.
She was simply giving him a taste of his own medicine, which was perfectly fair.
Si Jiliang knew she was playing games with him, so his gaze turned cold, and he asked, "What do you want?"
Jiang Ran smiled slightly, her expression relaxed: "You know, I just want to take back what belongs to me."
Hearing her words, Si Jiliang snorted coldly: "Your things? We settled the transaction on the spot, and you took the money without hesitation."
Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow, toying with the ring on her hand: "The past is the past, and the present is the present. How can you generalize like that?"
He paused briefly, then continued, "Just like before, I didn't know your identity."
Upon hearing this, a sinister glint flashed across Si Jiliang's face. Did she mean that she had investigated him afterward?
Those who knew the truth should have kept quiet, and thinking of this, he couldn't help but scrutinize Jiang Ran more closely.
Seeing him deep in thought, Jiang Ran chuckled softly, propped her elbow on her hand, tilted her head, and said leisurely, "So, how about it? Think about it?"
Si Jiliang frowned slightly, his face growing increasingly gloomy, yet he still managed a smirk as he coldly sneered, "So this is your plan?"
He shook his head, as if muttering to himself, "But it's a pity..."
Jiang Ran frowned and looked at him in confusion: "Where did that 'It's a pity' come from?"
“What I hate most in my life is being threatened,” Si Jiliang explained, with a hint of regret in his voice. “If you had spoken to me kindly, I might have softened and agreed. Unfortunately, you used the wrong approach.”
"Heh..." Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran chuckled lightly, seemingly disdainful.
This person is clearly unyielding, so is it because we used the wrong approach? All we'll do is make her regret it.
Even though she spoke kindly to him as soon as she entered, he remained unmoved.
What a joke.
Si Jiliang ignored Jiang Ran's disdain and continued, "You say you know my identity? Fine, I'd like to see what happens when you reveal this."
"However, I'd like to give you a piece of advice: you should talk to the old man before you speak, so that if you accidentally upset him, no one will give you any more shares."
"Don't say I didn't warn you when you end up losing both your money and your loved ones."
His tone was full of sarcasm. After saying that, he got up and prepared to leave.
Jiang Ran's expression was somewhat unpleasant. He had calculated that even if he knew about this, he wouldn't tell anyone, which was why he dared to be so fearless.
As Si Jiliang walked to the door, he paused slightly, then suddenly scoffed, "As for wanting to take the shares back?"
"Stop dreaming! Do you think this is something you can just take back whenever you want?"
Then he walked out on his own, leaving Jiang Ran alone, frowning and deep in thought.
Si Zuochen had been standing guard not far away. When he saw an unfamiliar face come out of the private room, a look of doubt flashed across his face.
Huh? It wasn't Lu Ziyi after all.
Judging from his aura, he was clearly no ordinary person.
Si Zuochen glanced suspiciously in the direction of the private room.
Could it be that the woman has changed her mind and found someone else?
Seeing that the man was about to leave, he quickly took out his watch and pretended to casually take a picture.
Then, a flash of inspiration struck, and an idea suddenly popped into my mind.
A slight smile played on his lips, and a sly look appeared on his face.
Then, she anonymously sent the photos to Lu Ziyi, and specifically emphasized that it was Jiang Ran's "new love".
