Chapter Sixteen: Two Faces

Chapter Sixteen: Two Faces

As soon as Jiang Ran entered the room, she saw this scene: Si Zuochen and Si Youlin were standing properly next to the phone.

"Yes, don't worry, we're doing well here," Si Zuochen replied softly.

"Grandpa, you should also take good care of yourself."

Hearing Si Zuochen's gentle tone, Jiang Ran suddenly let out a cold laugh.

Hearing the sound, the two turned around, a hint of panic flashing across their faces.

Upon seeing this, Si Zuochen quickly ended the conversation with Old Master Si, hung up the phone, and looked coldly at Jiang Ran.

He wasn't afraid of Jiang Ran causing trouble; since he dared to do it, he was prepared to bear the consequences.

I just felt that there were some things that didn't need to be known by my grandfather, and it would be a loss to disturb his health.

"You're quite the actor for such a young age. I never expected you to have two faces," Jiang Ran mocked coldly.

"I wonder if the old man would still be able to focus on his health if he found out what you've been doing in China?"

She didn't really mean to threaten them, but just thinking about what they had done yesterday made her furious.

Old Master Si was one of the few people they cared about, so they had to make him harbor some resentment as well.

"you!"

Sure enough, upon hearing her words, both of their expressions changed.

"A treacherous villain!" Si Zuochen looked at Jiang Ran and spoke coldly.

Seeing this, Si Youlin frowned slightly and tugged at Si Zuochen's sleeve, signaling him not to act impulsively.

He had even anticipated that Jiang Ran would, as usual, start cursing them for being ill-mannered.

He picked up something from the side and threw it at them.

But to his surprise, Jiang Ran merely curled her lips coldly upon hearing this: "Likewise."

"If you don't want the old man to worry about your affairs while he's abroad, then stop causing trouble."

Then he scoffed, "Kidnapping? I can't believe you even thought of that."

Si Youlin looked at Jiang Ran with suspicion, took a step forward, and was about to speak when he asked, "How come you..."

"What exactly do you want to do?" Si Zuochen suddenly interrupted Si Youlin, then shook his head at him.

"Me?" Jiang Ran fiddled with the ring on her hand and asked in return, "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"

Just as Si Zuochen was about to say something, Jiang Ran casually waved her hand, interrupting him.

"Fine, I don't want to know what you're thinking. Just remember this one thing."

As he spoke, he looked at Si Zuochen with a serious expression.

"I'll let yesterday's matter slide, but if you do it again, you'll see!" The words were full of threat.

Si Zuochen frowned as he listened.

She's not going to hold them accountable for their mistakes?!

What happened?

This isn't like her usual way of doing things.

No way, she's definitely trying to lower their guard and do something underhanded behind their backs.

Thinking of this, Si Zuochen's eyes were filled with disgust as he looked at Jiang Ran. After all, this wasn't the first or second time she had gone back on her word.

"I advise you not to do anything reckless! Otherwise, I don't mind fighting you to the death."

Although Si Zuochen spoke in a calm tone, his words carried a hint of intimidation.

A fight to the death?

Jiang Ran couldn't help but laugh as she listened; the young man spoke and acted with such maturity.

What can he use to compete with himself? Spreading rumors and ruining his reputation?

ridiculous!

After saying that, Si Zuochen pulled Si Youlin up and left the villa on his own.

He had already said the harsh words; whether she listened to them or not was up to her.

Si Youlin followed closely behind Si Zuochen, unable to contain his doubts, and asked, "Brother, why is that woman suddenly acting so strangely?"

Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen frowned deeply: "I don't know, who knows what she's plotting this time?"

"You must never face her alone again, understand?"

"Hmm." Si Youlin nodded in agreement.

Now that Jiang Ran has returned to the villa, the two of them definitely won't stay under her nose anymore.

Having no other choice, I went back to the classroom for class, but I was caught red-handed as soon as I entered the school.

"Do you know what skipping class is? It's a serious offense that will be recorded in your files and you're not first-time offenders."

This must be dealt with seriously!

Si Zuochen and Si Youlin were standing in the office being scolded by their homeroom teacher, who was getting more and more excited as he spoke.

As he spoke, he glanced at them sideways.

“I see that your personal files list two parents’ contact information. As far as I know, your mothers don’t seem to pay much attention to your studies, so I’ll call the other one.”

"If they skip class and fight now, won't they become even worse if they're not properly disciplined?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the homeroom teacher started searching through their personal files.

"No!" Si Zuochen suddenly spoke up to stop him.

Upon hearing this, the homeroom teacher glanced at him, a knowing look flashing in his eyes.

It seems this fearless person is actually afraid of having their parents called.

From the moment they came in until now, the two of them have been like mute people, not uttering a single word or admitting their mistakes, just listening to her scolding.

Now you're speaking up to stop me?

"What? Do I need your permission to call my parents?"

Feeling somewhat embarrassed when stopped by the students, she continued flipping through the pages and then reprimanded them.

"You skipped classes but can't take responsibility?"

Upon hearing this, Si Youlin took two steps forward: "You..."

Si Zuochen reached out and pulled him down, then looked sternly at the homeroom teacher, whose face darkened and who spoke in a cold voice.

“My grandfather is currently recuperating abroad. If this one phone call from you causes him to worry and his condition relapses, do you think you can bear that responsibility?”

The homeroom teacher paused, then turned to look at him.

Although he was a young child, she could sense an imposing aura emanating from him.

A thought flashed through her mind, and when she realized that she had been stunned by a child, a hint of unease crossed her face.

"But this matter is extremely serious and has violated school rules. We absolutely cannot let it go like this."

Hearing his homeroom teacher's words, Si Zuochen frowned, knowing that this matter would not be resolved so easily.

She lowered her eyes and pursed her lips, then looked up with a somewhat unpleasant expression: "Isn't there another one? You call her."

Upon hearing his brother's decision, Si Youlin looked at the teacher with a hint of disgust.

They fail to intervene when they should, and take unnecessary actions when they shouldn't.

She's received quite a few gifts, and while others turn a blind eye, they bring up school rules when it comes to her.

What bad luck!

Upon hearing Si Zuochen's words, a hint of hesitation flashed across the homeroom teacher's face.

After all, she had just spoken with Jiang Ran on the phone and knew her attitude.

Considering what I had heard about her before, I knew she wasn't an easy person to deal with.

A sudden pang of regret flashed through her mind for her earlier aggressive behavior.

But the words have already been spoken. If she goes back on her word now, wouldn't she be seen as a bully who preys on the weak in the students' minds?
