☆, Chapter Twenty-Six: A Harmonious Reciprocation

"Yuqing, what have you done to make Ranran angry lately?" Lu Ziyi said gently, calling Jiang Ran affectionately.

His words and actions clearly indicated that he was on her side.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran felt a chill run down her spine.

Shall we dye it?!

This is a bit too greasy, or is it that the original owner was only interested in this particular divination method?

"How could I possibly offend her?" Song Yuqing glanced at Jiang Ran and said in a half-coquettish tone, "I've always considered her my best friend, but who knew she would suddenly distance herself from me and say all sorts of nonsense."

Best friend?

Jiang Ran suddenly chuckled.

She truly lives up to her reputation as a green tea bitch; her level of skill is incredibly high. In just one sentence, she not only expressed her grievances but also accused the other woman of being unreasonable.

"Nonsense?" Jiang Ran suddenly spoke up and sneered, "So, you took my jewelry and I caught you red-handed, and that's considered nonsense?"

As soon as the words were spoken, a strange look flashed across their faces.

Lu Ziyi didn't expect Jiang Ran to speak so directly. In the past, when he was present, she would deliberately highlight her generosity.

She would often put on a show of "sisterly affection" with Song Yuqing in front of him, and then give her a lot of luxury goods.

How could you hold a grudge for so long over something so trivial?

Song Yuqing, however, felt that she was making a mountain out of a molehill, since this kind of behavior had happened more than once or twice.

"Didn't you say before that you could give me anything I like?" Song Yuqing frowned slightly, her eyes glistening with tears.

She looked like she was trying to gain sympathy, as if she were the victim.

Seeing this, Jiang Ran crossed her arms, leaned back in her chair, and said disdainfully, "I did say that, but you should have at least told me first."

Then, his voice turned cold and stern: "Don't you know that taking something without asking is stealing?"

"A case can be filed for theft exceeding one thousand yuan. You stole at least tens of thousands of yuan. Do the math and see what kind of sentence you'll get."

Upon hearing that Jiang Ran was involved in legal matters, Song Yuqing's face instantly turned pale.

But she still forced herself to say, "Steal? You actually think that of me?"

"Jiang Ran, after all these years, ask yourself honestly, haven't I been wholeheartedly good to you? Even the most hard-hearted person would have felt warmed by that kindness, right?"

"You...you actually want to talk to me about criminal law now."

As she spoke, she began to sob softly.

Jiang Ran watched from the side and couldn't help but reach out and rub her forehead.

Being good to her? If it means thinking about how to swindle her money, speaking ill of the Si family in front of you, or being unable to bear seeing you doing well, then that's considered being good.

That's really treating yourself extremely well!

She really wanted to tear off her hypocritical mask.

But no, it's not time yet. Thinking of this, a fierce glint flashed in Jiang Ran's eyes.

As Lu Ziyi listened to Song Yuqing crying, a pang of heartache flashed in his eyes.

However, considering that Jiang Ran was still standing there, he couldn't say anything to comfort her, so he could only try to smooth things over.

"No, no, Yuqing, don't take it seriously. Ranran was just joking."

"Right, Ranran?" he said, quickly giving Jiang Ran a wink.

Jiang Ran pretended not to see it and did not respond.

The situation became awkward for a moment.

Song Yuqing's constant sobbing annoyed her.

Jiang Ran lowered her eyes and suddenly said, "I don't have time to deal with these things right now. I'm busy selling shares."

"And just two days ago, Mr. Si called me and said he wanted to register some of the overseas businesses under my name as well..."

Jiang Ran seemed to be rubbing her fingers together, speaking as if it were unintentional.

Upon hearing the words "overseas industries," Song Yuqing stopped crying and exchanged a glance with Lu Ziyi, both seeing joy in each other's eyes.

In their view, Jiang Ran's current aggressive behavior was only temporary, and that a fool like her could be easily coaxed with sweet words.

Isn't the last bit of money going to them?

Thinking of this, Lu Ziyi secretly kicked Song Yuqing under the table, then winked at her.

Song Yuqing immediately understood, got up and sat down next to Jiang Ran, affectionately taking her arm.

Her tone was coquettish and aggrieved: "Okay, Ranran, please forgive me. I misunderstood."

Seeing Song Yuqing's overtures, a hint of mockery flashed across Jiang Ran's face.

In the eyes of people like them, money really is everything; they've even abandoned all sense of shame for money.

"Hmm." Jiang Ran responded softly. Although she didn't express her opinion, it was at least a response.

Then, changing the subject, she looked at Lu Ziyi and asked, "How's things going with what we talked about before?"

"What's wrong?" Song Yuqing turned around quickly and asked in confusion.

Then she complained, "You two are only concerned with enjoying your time together now, and you don't include me when you talk about things anymore."

She deliberately catered to his preferences; Jiang Ran loved hearing her talk about the two of them together.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Jiang Ran turned to look at her and replied, "You want to know too?"

"Mmm." Song Yuqing nodded repeatedly.

A sly glint flashed in Jiang Ran's eyes; the fish had taken the bait.

Then Jiang Ran explained to her that she needed to use money to smooth things over, and emphasized that it was a low-investment, high-return process.

Sure enough, Song Yuqing was also tempted upon hearing this.

Jiang Ran seized the opportunity and asked, "How about it? Why don't we invest together?"

Upon hearing this, Song Yuqing lowered her eyes, pondering the feasibility of the matter.

Jiang Ran remained calm and waited quietly for her reply.

She knew from the start that Song Yuqing was harder to persuade than Lu Ziyi.

Lu Ziyi was too arrogant; he only knew that the original owner liked him.

Song Yuqing is different; after all, she is a woman, and her mind is more active.

Unfortunately, they were all born into poverty, and coupled with their dishonest nature and excessive desire for money, Jiang Ran took advantage of this trait.

Song Yuqing didn't respond for a long time, and Lu Ziyi, who was waiting anxiously, couldn't help but urge her.

"Yuqing, this is a rare opportunity, you mustn't miss it."

Then he looked at Jiang Ran, took out a bank card and handed it to her, saying, "Ranran, there is one million in this card. I will collect the rest and give it to you in a while."

Jiang Ran reached out and took it, nodded, and then looked at Song Yuqing: "Ziyi has already paid, what about you?"

Song Yuqing pursed her lips and said, "I also want to invest, but I don't have any money."

As he spoke, a troubled expression appeared on his face.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran smiled slightly: "It's okay if you don't have money, I can lend it to you, you just need to give me an IOU."

"Or, at the very least, didn't you take a lot of jewelry from me? You could make a good amount of money selling it."

Song Yuqing was taken aback upon hearing this, and was about to say something when Jiang Ran continued.

"Yuqing, you don't actually want to invest, do you? I'm only bringing you guys along because we're good friends."

Jiang Ran pretended to be making careful plans for them.

Song Yuqing's eyes darted away, and her face turned ugly.

Issuing an IOU? What does that mean? If you become enemies later, you'll have to go to court.
