The shareholders' meeting began at 3 p.m.
Ji Fuying entered the meeting room five minutes before the end of the meeting, by which time all the seats were already occupied.
Aside from the president's position, there's only the last position left.
Logically speaking, a general manager's position is much higher than that of shareholders, so she should be positioned to Ji Yan's right.
However, a shrewd-looking middle-aged man was already sitting in that seat; he was probably also a shareholder.
"Manager Ji, should I go...?"
Ji Fuying stopped Xu Nuo's actions. It was just a seat; it wasn't worth making a fuss over. Sitting in the back would be the same.
Five minutes later, Ji Yan arrived. His steps were light and confident, each step exuding elegance and composure.
He looked around from his high vantage point and immediately spotted Ji Fuying sitting at the very back. Why was she sitting there?
The general manager's seat was always to his right, and at this moment, someone was already sitting there: Ji Yong, Ji Yingying's father, who was a shareholder, but only held one percent of the shares.
He sat there with his head held high, smug and self-satisfied. One percent of the Ji Group's shares were enough for him to live comfortably for the rest of his life.
Moreover, his father had saved the old master of the Ji family, Ji Nanzhou. For that reason alone, the Ji family would not dare to mistreat him. His good days were yet to come.
"Ji Yong, why don't you go to the hospital to get your eyes checked first, and then come to the shareholders' meeting after you've recovered?"
Ji Yan's emotionless words extinguished the excitement in his heart.
"Mr. Ji, what do you mean by that?"
"Look at whose name is written on your desk."
"I'm sorry, I didn't see clearly for a moment. May I ask who Miss Ji Fuying is? Would you like to switch back?"
How could he not know who Ji Fuying was? He had heard that name from his own daughter at least thirty or fifty times.
He deliberately sat in this position to give her a hard time, to show her how much the Ji Group valued him, and to let her know that Ji Yingying was not someone she could bully at will.
She just didn't expect Ji Yan to stand up for her. But it's okay, he can give her the choice back. Girls are shy, he doesn't believe she would dare to ask to switch back.
"I thought it was some important major shareholder. Since it's not, let's switch it back."
Her light, airy tone echoed in the conference room, and everyone present could hear the subtle sarcasm in her voice.
"You..." Ji Yong was speechless for a moment, his face turning pale and then red. He hadn't expected her to actually dare to do it; this was something he had miscalculated.
Ji Fuying walked to his side with the documents in her arms, her face relaxed. Where did such a small shareholder get such confidence?
She still owns at least 20% of the shares, so she wouldn't dare to be this arrogant.
"Look, even the CEO has spoken, he still doesn't want to give up his position."
"Who is this shareholder? We've never seen him before."
"I heard it's a small-shareholder organization, but I don't know how a shareholders' meeting came about."
The whispers of the surrounding shareholders made Ji Yong feel awkward, but because Ji Yan was present, he dared not say anything openly and could only grit his teeth and sit in the last seat.
His gloomy gaze remained fixed on Ji Fuying. It was all her fault; she had made him lose face. Damn bitch.
She only rose to the position because of her beauty; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to sit in the general manager's seat. His daughter is far more qualified.
The Ji family, the head of the household, really shows no mercy; they're all ungrateful scoundrels.
After the seats were changed, Ji Yan's brows slowly relaxed, and he said in a deep voice, "The shareholders' meeting officially begins."
The following shareholders' meeting will cover the company's recent profits and the current status of the newly developed project, Floating Firefly Island, followed by the distribution of dividends.
Everyone else listened with great interest and were happy about the considerable future dividends, but Ji Fuying sat in her seat idly twirling her pen.
An hour later, the meeting finally came to an end.
Ji Fuying was tidying up the documents on the table, preparing to leave, but Ji Yan stopped her.
"Come to my office with me."
"Is there something you can't say now?"
“Yingying, you weren’t this rebellious before. I guess I have to go back and talk to Mom and Dad.”
Ji Yan closed the document and left quickly, with Ji Fuying following closely behind.
She wasn't afraid of anything else, but she still had to maintain the image of a well-behaved girl in front of her family.
It seems Ji Yan inherited her skills from her grandfather; she's so good at threatening people. This grandfather and granddaughter duo really have her completely under their thumb.
She followed Ji Yan angrily, not even noticing that he had stopped, and bumped straight into him.
A sharp pain shot through her nose, followed by a slow flow of red liquid that instantly stained her white work clothes.
"Why are you bleeding? Quick, I'll take you to the hospital."
Ji Yan was so shocked that his face turned pale and his palms were sweating. He grabbed Ji Fuying and tried to walk towards the door.
"It's nothing, don't worry, it's just a nosebleed, it'll be fine in a bit."
Ji Fuying let go of his hand, turned around and walked to the bathroom. She wrung out a wet towel and placed it on the back of her neck, then leaned her head back against the door.
"Yingying, this won't help. We should go to the hospital."
Ji Yan stood by the door, looking at her with concern, while also feeling extremely guilty. If he hadn't suddenly stopped, she wouldn't have been injured.
Seeing his anxious expression, Ji Fuying's tone softened for once, "I'm really fine, just listen to me, it'll be fine in a few more minutes."
