Chapter 128 The Grand Finale

When Song Yuwei returned home, she saw Jiang Cheng sleeping soundly on the bed.

It's obvious he's dreaming; he smiles every now and then.

He's really as innocent and adorable as a child.

"Honey, when did you get back? I've been waiting for you for so long. I thought you weren't coming back tonight."

Jiang Cheng suddenly opened his eyes and asked her.

Song Yuwei was somewhat surprised. Wasn't he just sleeping? How did he wake up in an instant? It was as if he hadn't slept at all.

"I had a lot of things to do at the company today, so I came home a little late. What time did you go to bed? Were you not waiting for me obediently again? I told you, I come home as soon as I get off work, so you absolutely can't stay up late."

Hearing that Song Yuwei was going to blame him, Jiang Cheng shook his head. "No, wife, it's not what you think. I just felt unhappy that you came back too late and couldn't see me. I wanted to make you happy, so I waited for you a little longer. Actually, I went to bed at 11:30. I didn't stay up all night! I remembered what my wife said."

Song Yuwei smiled and suddenly found him even more adorable.

Who wouldn't love such an adorable husband!

"Then go to sleep now. Do you want to hear a story? I heard you always need to hear a story before bed. Did Amo tell you a story tonight?"

Song Yuwei opened her phone and searched for a bedtime story.

Jiang Cheng shook his head. "No, I'm waiting for my wife to tell me stories. My younger brother used to tell me stories, but now I only want to hear my wife's stories. The stories my wife tells are the best stories in the world."

Song Yuwei couldn't help but burst out laughing.

She burst into laughter and covered her mouth.

Seeing her like this, Jiang Cheng was a little confused. "What's wrong? Wife, why are you laughing like that? Do you think I did something wrong?"

Song Yuwei smiled happily and waved her hand, "I just feel sorry for your brother. I bet he's thinking right now, why does he feel like such a terrible child?"

Meanwhile, Jiang Mo in the next room did sneeze, and then posted a message on his WeChat Moments.

Jiang Cheng: "Family members, who wants to hear a bedtime story? I can come!"

Mu Yueqing gave it a thumbs up.

Mu Yueqing commented: "Me!"

Mu Yueqing made a video call.

"Damn, what are you doing up so late?"

Jiang Mo was somewhat surprised, finding her behavior quite unusual.

Don't girls usually go to bed very early?

"Didn't you say you could tell stories? Go ahead, I'm listening!" Mu Yueqing took a big bite of watermelon, the juice bursting out, it was especially delicious.

"Um, girl, why are you doing this?" Jiang Mo asked somewhat uncertainly as he pulled out a storybook.

"Are you sure you want to listen?" he asked somewhat uncertainly before he began.

Mu Yueqing nodded, "Yes, what else?"

Jiang Mo looked at the stories meant to amuse one- or two-year-old children and began to tell them.

"Once upon a time, there was a girl named Mushroom. Mushroom was three years old. She was carrying a small basket with five carrots on her way to her grandma's house when she suddenly stopped because there was a strange uncle standing in front of her..."

As Jiang Mo was talking, he felt so sleepy that he started yawning. But when he looked up, he saw Mu Yueqing on the other end of the phone watching him intently.

"Don't you think this story is childish and boring?" Jiang Mo was genuinely curious. Actually, he was teasing her a bit, as he had many more interesting stories to tell.

But seeing her like this, he wanted to tell her something really childish to test her patience.

I never expected that she, who seemed so carefree, would actually be so patient.

“Indeed, but the way you described it made it seem less boring and childish,” Mu Yueqing said, shrugging her shoulders as her sincere gaze met Jiang Mo’s.

Jiang Mo swallowed nervously and looked away.

"Aren't you sleepy yet?" Jiang Mo asked, touching his nose.

"A little bit, I guess."

Mu Yueqing said this, but her hands unconsciously set her alarm for 1 a.m. for tomorrow.

"Even though tomorrow is the weekend, don't you have anything else to do?" Jiang Mo asked again.

"Yeah, what could I possibly do?" Mu Yueqing asked instead of answering.

"What time are you getting up tomorrow? I want to go play golf and find a partner!" Jiang Mo suddenly had a brilliant idea. He felt that if he played with her tomorrow, he would win every time and completely crush her!

"Let's do it tomorrow at one o'clock."

Jiang Mo: !!!

"Damn it! Is 1 a.m. considered getting up? What can you possibly do at that time? You'll just waste the whole day!"

"What? Didn't you say you wanted to play ball?"

After finishing the last piece of watermelon, Mu Yueqing jumped off the chair and walked to the bed.

"Tsk tsk, what you said makes so much sense. Although it's better to play golf in the morning."

"Hmm... then it's settled. Tomorrow at 2 PM, oh no, I still need to put on makeup, how about 3 PM? We'll go play golf."

Mu Yueqing made her bed, drew the curtains, and waved to Jiang Mo on the other side of the screen.

She hung up the phone unilaterally, and Jiang Mo couldn't help but complain, "Tch, she hung up so quickly without even saying goodbye. What a waste of my story."

The next morning, Grandpa Jiang instructed the housekeeper to make some jujube soup. Madam Jiang was naturally very curious as to why he, who disliked sweets, wanted something sweet.

"Did Yuwei stay up late again yesterday? Did she get home very late? Staying up late is bad for her health, so she should have some nourishing soup."

Madam Jiang paused, somewhat taken aback.

When did Grandpa Jiang become so satisfied with Song Yuwei?

It's no wonder, though. That woman is so good at winning people over. She can make Jiang Cheng and Jiang Mo like her in a short time, so she can also make Old Master Jiang like her.

"Well, that's fine then," she said reluctantly.

As breakfast began, Jiang Mo kept looking at his phone, which made Grandpa Jiang a little unhappy.

"What are you doing? All you do is play on your phone all day, you can't even put it down to eat!"

"Oh? Oh, I'm chatting with my girlfriend."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone froze, as if the air had solidified in an instant.

"What did you say?" Old Master Jiang thought there might be something wrong with his ears.

"Dad, I told you I was chatting with my girlfriend."

Jiang Mo curled his lips as he looked at his chat history with Mu Yueqing. The two were discussing how to make Grandpa Jiang think that Jiang Mo was a "good kid".

Because Mu Yueqing woke up early this morning, Jiang Mo tolerated her morning grumpiness and coaxed her for a long time. In return, Mu Yueqing agreed to be his "fake girlfriend".

The purpose, of course, was to allow Jiang Mo to have a better life at home.

After all, he had been swallowing his anger these past few days and had been criticized by Old Master Jiang quite a bit.
