Chapter 47 Storytelling

Qin Anyu hung up the phone immediately, trembling with anger.

Song Yuwei slept on the huge sofa in the presidential suite that night, while Jiang Mo and Jiang Cheng slept on the bed in the suite inside.

Jiang Cheng suddenly relapsed, reverting to his previous personality with the intelligence of a child.

He insisted on hearing a story before going to bed, and even if Jiang Mo told him one, he wouldn't listen; he insisted that Song Yuwei tell him one.

Song Yuwei spent half a day searching for fairy tales online on her phone, telling a story to someone for the first time in her life.

"Once upon a time, there was a monster named Piglet. Piglet turned into a monster from a wild boar. That day, it was a sunny day. Piglet went out from its home, but unexpectedly, after eating a blade of grass by the roadside, it turned into a monster. And then..."

Song Yuwei kept telling the story, which was like an old woman's foot-binding cloth—long, smelly, and seemingly endless.

In the end, she was so sleepy from talking that she kept yawning.

Jiang Cheng blinked, pouted, and asked her, "Why aren't you telling me? Don't you want to tell me? No, no! I want to hear a story. If you don't tell me a story, I won't go to sleep!"

Jiang Mo patted his shoulder, "Hey, I'm telling you, brother, we know your situation is special, but don't go too far! My sister-in-law has been working hard with you all day. Organizing a wedding is not a simple matter; it takes a lot of brainpower and physical strength. She's exhausted by now. It's time for you to go to sleep."

Jiang Cheng glared at him, "No way! I just want to hear my wife tell me a story!"

But his face was so strikingly handsome that no matter how unreasonable he seemed at that moment, it was impossible to dislike him.

Song Yuwei rubbed her temples, then waved her hand and said, "How could that be? I'm willing to tell you. The little pig met an old sow, and they fell in love—or rather, they were both pigs. After they fell in love, they had a little piglet..."

Song Yuwei started talking again, trying to control her temper, but when she turned the page, there was still a long passage to go.

She never imagined a children's story could turn out like this.

Thump thump thump—

The sudden knocking interrupted the story being told in the room, and Jiang Mo jumped out of bed to open the door.

After opening the door, Jiang Mo saw Madam Jiang.

"Amo? What happened? What are you doing in your brother and sister-in-law's newlywed house?"

When Madam Jiang saw that it was him who opened the door, she was also very surprised.

Jiang Mo scratched his head, feeling somewhat embarrassed. He really shouldn't be in his brother and sister-in-law's new house at this time.

But wasn't he afraid of being scolded or punished by Grandpa Jiang?

Where else could he go?

"Oh, my brother had a relapse, and I was worried that my sister-in-law wouldn't be able to handle it alone, so I came here to help. After all, I've been by my brother's side for quite a while, and I know him better than anyone else."

Jiang Mo's explanation was indeed reasonable. Madam Jiang hesitated and glanced inside, "And now? What are your sister-in-law and brother doing?"

Jiang Mo stepped aside to make way for her. "Whenever my brother has an episode, he has the mental capacity of a three or four-year-old child, so he's particularly childish right now. He only goes to sleep when he hears a story, and my sister-in-law is telling him one right now."

Mrs. Jiang walked in, following the path he had cleared for her. "Oh really? Your sister-in-law is quite patient, that's good."

When Madam Jiang entered, she saw Song Yuwei sitting on a stool by the bed, telling a story on her phone, while Jiang Cheng lay obediently on the bed covered with a blanket.

"Hey, Cheng, it's so late, why aren't you asleep yet? Should I have your wife tell you a story?"

Mrs. Jiang asked him with the same patience she would show a child.

Jiang Cheng shook his head, keeping his mouth tightly shut and not saying a word.

Madam Jiang was a little embarrassed. Jiang Mo, who had just walked in, saw this scene and said, "My brother is just too shy. Every time he uses this personality, he's like a little child, especially afraid of strangers."

Madam Jiang couldn't help but twitch her lips. "Heh... I've been in your family for so many years, am I still considered a stranger?"

Jiang Mo waved his hand and hurriedly said, "That's definitely not it. Don't overthink it. That's not what I meant. I just meant that you two don't see each other often. My brother even acts like this when he sees my dad. He's quite afraid of everyone except me."

Jiang Mo didn't want to offend Madam Jiang. After all, she was his father's son, and he knew his father very well. His father cared a lot about this woman, and you could even say he regarded her as very important. If he offended her, his father would not forgive him.

Madam Jiang withdrew her gaze, then turned to Song Yuwei and spoke, maintaining a basic polite smile and speaking very courteously.

"Because my father had something to do and had to leave early today, I'm here to say a few words to you on his behalf. My father has never met you, but he has investigated all your backgrounds and knows you quite well. Actually, we are very happy that you are willing to be our daughter-in-law, but we do have some conditions."

Song Yuwei knew that this Madam Jiang was definitely a shrewd person. She knew that those who came with good intentions were not friendly, and apart from Jiang Mo and Jiang Cheng, she didn't know the other members of the family. It was better to be careful.

"Okay, you can tell me."

Madam Jiang pulled out a stool and sat down, slowly saying, "First of all, you will be a member of our family from now on, so you will have to live with us for a long time. There are also many things to pay attention to when you live with us. First of all, since you have married our Cheng, you will have to take on the responsibility of taking care of him and give him some warmth in your heart."

Song Yuwei frowned. Were they treating her like a child bride?

"Uh...oh."

Madam Jiang was somewhat displeased that she didn't agree so readily, but her expression quickly returned to calm.

"Secondly, please don't meddle in things that don't concern you in our family, because our family relationships are quite complicated. We don't want you to get too involved or play any role in them, and you shouldn't have any stance on them. That's the best way."

Song Yuwei's inner monologue: I can't be bothered with this!

But she nodded outwardly.

"Finally, I still want to say that although you are now married to our Cheng, whose situation is a bit special, you also need to learn to be a good wife and mother, because in the future we may hope that through medical means and various technologies, you can give our Jiang family a son or daughter."

Song Yuwei was a little surprised; she hadn't expected the Jiang family to have this additional condition!

So it turns out that not only is marrying her a requirement, but also having her produce an heir for the Jiang family? It's just like a wealthy family in a TV drama.
