Chapter Eighty Your Secret

Song Yuwei had been handling a lot of things at the company, and it wasn't until around 11 p.m. that she realized she hadn't eaten dinner yet. Her stomach was growling with hunger, and as she touched her empty belly, she suddenly called out Shen Jin's name.

Shen Jin hadn't left work yet, so she quickly rushed in. "What's wrong, President Song?"

Song Yuwei raised her head, feeling her neck almost stiff. She opened her mouth with some difficulty, "I'm so hungry."

Her voice was hoarse, probably because she hadn't had any water while working for so long, and she looked extremely tired.

Shen Jin hurriedly went to pour her some water. An hour earlier, she had come in and poured her a glass of water, but it had gone cold and Song Yuwei hadn't drunk it.

Perhaps it's because she's so focused on her work that it's easy to miss.

She poured the glass of cold water into the flowers, then poured her fresh boiled water and handed it to her.

"President Song, you work too hard. If you keep going like this, your body won't be able to take it."

Song Yuwei nodded and said, "Yes, I've only just realized how hard I've actually worked. I used to think that since I wasn't familiar with the job at first, I might not do it as well as I'd hoped. But now that I think about it, I was really overthinking it..."

She herself never expected to be so engrossed in her work, but this state is not healthy, and she needs to change it.

After drinking the water, Shen Jin suddenly remembered something and said to her, "President Song, I suddenly remembered that three hours ago, a very handsome oppa came to the company to bring you lunch. He said he was your husband? I don't know if he was! He also said that since you are still busy with work, he wouldn't bother you and would leave the lunch in my office."

I'll bring you food whenever you're ready. The food is all on my desk in my office. Do you want to eat now? If so, I'll heat it up in the microwave for you.

Faced with Shen Jin's question, Song Yuwei was more incredulous than anything else. She opened her mouth, then belatedly realized, "What did you say? My husband brought me food?"

The scene of Jiang Cheng saying he could cook instantly flashed through her mind. At the time, she thought he might have just said it casually, and that he might not actually be able to cook at all, but just wanted to show off in front of them. After all, she could tell that he cared a lot about his relationship with his father-in-law and wanted to establish a good image in front of him.

He looked like a well-behaved boy, so he didn't take her words to heart. But now, unexpectedly, he actually brought her food, even though it was quite a distance from his home.

Could it be that shortly after he left, he went to cook for her and then brought it to her?

This was truly unbelievable, and what surprised her even more was how much he kept his word.

Shen Jin knew that silence meant consent! Excitedly, she quickly went to the office to get the lunchboxes. The two large lunchboxes contained several bowls, all filled with cooked food, a very lavish spread.

Moreover, the aroma is irresistible as soon as you open the lid, filling the entire office with the smell of food.

"Look, your husband has made so much for you, Ms. Song! I never imagined you had such a great cook as your husband. You're so lucky! I'm so envious of you!"

As Shen Jin spoke, her eyes were filled with envy and admiration for Song Yuwei.

She envied her for having such a handsome husband who was also good at cooking. She admired her for being able to keep such a handsome husband at her feet and make him wholeheartedly cook and prepare meals for her.

What kind of ability does that take? It seems that not only is President Song successful in her career and decisive in the company, but she is also incredibly successful in her personal life. I should learn from her!

If she could find a boyfriend who was even a tenth as handsome as her husband, she would be overjoyed and would have to be careful sleeping at night, not to mention that such a husband would be willing to cook for her!

Looking at the food, Song Yuwei knew that Jiang Cheng had really put his heart into it; otherwise, he wouldn't have made so much at once.

"Hurry up and put these in the microwave to heat them up. There's too much for me to eat by myself, let's eat them together."

Seeing those delicious dishes, so plentiful and vibrant in color, Song Yuwei felt her stomach rumble with anticipation.

Compared to her previous frantic work ethic, she now understands what hunger feels like to go half a day without food!

Shen Jin could tell that she really wanted to eat, so she quickly went to heat up the food for her.

Song Yuwei was the only one left in the office. She looked at her phone and hesitated for more than ten seconds. Suddenly, she picked up her phone, opened her contacts, and dialed a number that she had added to her contacts not long ago.

The phone rang a few times before being answered quickly.

Jiang Cheng's gentle and pleasant voice came from across the room: "Wife, have you eaten?"

When Song Yuwei heard his voice, she inexplicably felt a sense of security and comfort slowly washing over her.

She nodded and said, "It's almost time to eat. I was so busy with work that I forgot to eat. My assistant just told me that you brought me food a few hours ago, but she didn't bother me because she was busy. I've already asked her to heat it up."

As soon as she finished speaking, Jiang Cheng suddenly frowned and asked her, "Why are you only eating now? You'll ruin your stomach by starving yourself. At the very least, you should eat three meals a day on time."

Song Yuwei nodded again, and obediently hummed in agreement, "I'll eat earlier next time. But thank you for bringing me food today, and you made so much, it must have been very tiring, right?"

Hearing her being so polite to him, Jiang Cheng shook his head and said, "Isn't he your husband now? Is there any need to be so polite?"

His words, tinged with amusement and mockery, left Song Yuwei speechless for a moment. She felt as if she had a fishbone stuck in her throat, choked up, her eyes darting around, unable to utter a single word for a long time.

Suddenly, Jiang Cheng said, "Actually, I know many of your secrets."

These words struck Song Yuwei like a thunderbolt, and she perked up.

"What did you say? What do you know about me?"

Song Yuwei probably knew the secret he was talking about, one of which was that she was pretending to be unable to walk to deceive others, but she didn't know if he would expose her.

If we expose her, she won't be able to carry out her plan.

But it doesn't matter if they really expose it, since it's just a game after all, it's just a matter of whether you're on your own or not.
