Chapter Five: The Watch Worth Sixty Million

The leader, dressed in a denim jacket, casually lifted the handsome man's chin.

Even with dust on it, that face was still captivating.

His features were exquisitely perfect, with perfect lines on his handsome face, beautiful eyebrows and eyes, tightly pursed lips, and a cold gaze.

"You will die too." He uttered five words in a deep voice, his magnetic tone filled with certainty.

The thug in the denim jacket laughed loudly, then glared at him fiercely and arrogantly said, "Do you still think you're that pampered and high-and-mighty young master of the Jiang family?"

He threw down the steel pipe in his other hand, took a knife from his waist, and stabbed it into the handsome man's heart.

Just as the knife was about to touch his blood-stained shirt, Song Yuwei forcefully pushed the bricks over, shouting, "Stop! I've already sent a message to the police, they're on their way!"

The thug in the denim jacket then put away his knife.

"Hey little sister, who are you?"

Song Yuwei stepped over the fallen bricks and, under the fierce gazes of a dozen thugs wielding steel pipes, walked up to the thug in the denim jacket.

"Who I am is none of your business. On the contrary, the police will be here soon for you."

She showed him the fake alarm message that had already been sent.

The thug in the denim jacket chewed his gum, nonchalantly twisting his neck. "Fuck you! You dare to mess with me?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he stabbed Song Yuwei with his small knife.

Song Yuwei dodged to the side, then threw the sand she was holding in her hand into his eyes; she had just grabbed it from the ground.

The thug in the denim jacket screamed, covered his eyes, and fell to the ground.

Everyone else gathered around, asking him with concern how he was doing.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Song Yuwei grabbed the handsome man's hand and the two ran downstairs.

"Don't worry about me! Go after her! Don't let that little wench get away!"

The thug in the denim jacket was so angry that he cursed.

Those people realized what was happening and quickly followed.

Song Yuwei desperately carried the handsome man as they ran, but her body hadn't walked for a full year, and she couldn't keep going for long.

They ran into a grove of trees, where they could easily hide.

The group searched the woods for a long time but couldn't find them. They assumed they had run away and left.

Song Yuwei, who had been lying behind the rock, finally breathed a sigh of relief and stood up.

She looked at the person next to her, who was also looking at her.

Both of them had equally clear eyes, but he seemed to have an added layer of unfathomable mystery.

What's your name?

"Song Yuwei".

He nodded, then forced himself to stand up despite his injury.

"Thanks."

He took a few steps forward, then turned back and spoke to her.

Song Yuwei's gaze lingered briefly on the Patek Philippe watch on his wrist. Although the world of the novel was slightly different from her original world, she was still quite familiar with such top luxury brands.

If nothing unexpected happens, it's a watch worth tens of millions. And it's one of those limited editions, with only two or three pieces made worldwide.

She nodded. "It's okay."

Once his figure disappeared from her sight, Song Yuwei picked up her phone and searched for various Patek Philippe models. Sure enough, she found the one on his wrist. She was right; that watch was worth 60 million.

When Song Yuwei returned to school, she was still in a wheelchair, and more and more people around her were pointing and whispering about her.

When she arrived at the library entrance, a beautiful figure blocked her way.

It was Ren Yuran, still dressed in expensive designer clothes, luxurious and glamorous, a stark contrast to Song Yuwei.

Zhang Qiqi followed closely behind, and when she looked at Song Yuwei, she couldn't help but smile.

"Song Yuwei, why didn't you spend the money you earned as a prostitute on buying yourself a few outfits? You dress worse than a beggar on the street, yet you try to act like a rich woman, throwing money around. Now look what you've done! All that money is gone!"

Looking at Zhang Qiqi's arrogant and domineering manner, Song Yuwei said, "That little bit of money may be a huge sum for you, but it's just a drop in the ocean for me. I will never be broke."

It's lunchtime now, and everyone is heading to the cafeteria for lunch. They'll pass by the library on their way to the cafeteria, and Song Yuwei is currently the talk of the school, so many people are stopping to watch.

"Pfft, hahaha! Everyone, listen to this! This bitch is shameless! Does she mean she wants to continue selling herself and be proud of it, so she can have a steady stream of money?"

When Zhang Qiqi said that, many people laughed with disdain.

"Song Yuwei, aren't you afraid that the original wife will come knocking on your door in the middle of the night, demanding your life?"

"Exactly! He's already crippled and still doing this kind of thing. It's true that there's always a reason why someone is pitiful!"

"Maybe he did something bad before, and this is retribution for what he's done!"

Those vicious words were like blades. Although Ren Yuran didn't say a word, she was very pleased with herself. Even the strongest person would have their psychological defenses collapse in the face of such slander, right?

"Spreading rumors and maliciously slandering others are crimes. I advise you to think twice before acting," Song Yuwei warned coldly.

Zhang Qiqi found her even more ridiculous, "Then tell me, where did all that money come from out of nowhere? If it wasn't as that post said, what other reason could make you rich overnight?"

Everyone agreed.

Yan Zhengsong had just come out of the library when he saw a large crowd gathered together. He quickened his pace and squeezed into the crowd, only to see that those people were making things difficult for Song Yuwei, who was in a wheelchair.

Although he had heard some rumors, there was no evidence to back them up. He had to protect this mysterious big shot!

"What are you all doing? Who's leading this bullying of the weaker students?"

He shouted angrily, pointing at the people who had gathered around and asking.

Zhang Qiqi instantly lost her smug demeanor and quickly lowered her head.

Ren Yuran was also very surprised that the principal would suddenly appear, and she broke out in a cold sweat.

Everyone else immediately fell silent, and the crowd suddenly quieted down.

“You people, are you here to study or to cause trouble? We tell you to study properly, but you won't listen and insist on doing nothing productive! Do you think your bullying behavior is so noble or worthy of praise?”

Yan Zhengsong's sharp gaze swept over the crowd, exuding a strong sense of oppression.

Those people instantly felt a little ashamed.

Ren Yuran gritted her teeth, unwilling to let the matter pass by like this.

She secretly pinched Zhang Qiqi and gave her a look.

Zhang Qiqi suddenly raised her hand, "Principal! I was the one who led this! I, Zhang Qiqi, am willing to take responsibility for my actions! But I hope you can investigate this matter thoroughly, and not show her too much pity just because she has a physical defect, thus losing justice!"

Yan Zhengsong sized her up with displeasure, inwardly thinking how rude this girl was. He narrowed his eyes, "Oh?"
