Chapter Sixty-One: Trivial Daily Life

Jiang Cheng had to push the shopping cart with both hands, so Song Yuwei had to roll her wheelchair around by herself.

She used to think that walking in eight-centimeter sky-high heels was incredibly difficult and exhausting.

Damn, I'm only just realizing how dangerous it is to be in a wheelchair!

She rolled and rolled! Rolled and rolled!

The supermarket isn't particularly far from the Jiang family's house, but it's still about a five-kilometer walk.

She began to regret buying so much stuff; if they hadn't, they could have easily taken a taxi.

"Jiang Cheng, wait a moment."

She suddenly remembered something and called out to him.

Jiang Cheng stopped. "What's wrong, wife?"

Song Yuwei rolled her wheelchair forward, reached into the shopping cart, rummaged around for a bit, and suddenly pulled out a pink packaging bag.

Jiang Cheng looked closely, it was strawberry ice cream!

"Here you go, I almost forgot. If I had forgotten, it would have been ruined in this hot weather when I got home."

Song Yuwei tore open the packaging bag and handed it to him. The ice cream looked like a thirst-quenching wonder right now!

The temperature today is estimated to be 39 degrees Celsius; Song Yuwei is almost dying of heat.

Jiang Cheng took the strawberry ice cream but held it to her lips, saying, "Wife, you eat first."

Song Yuwei didn't expect Jiang Cheng to give her the ice cream first, but she was thirsty from being in the wheelchair for so long, so she didn't care and took a big bite.

Instantly, the rich aroma of milk enveloped the strawberry flavor, chilling her tongue.

"Okay, now I'm eating."

Jiang Cheng then brought the ice cream to his mouth and began to eat it.

Song Yuwei once read a novel that said drinking from a cup that someone else had already drunk from is like indirectly kissing someone.

If he ate the ice cream she had bitten, wouldn't that be considered an indirect kiss?

The two continued walking and passed a little girl who was carrying a basket of roses.

"Brother, brother, how about buying a bouquet of flowers for your girlfriend?"

The little girl was clearly very smart; she could tell that the two people were definitely a couple.

But Jiang Cheng shook his head and said, "No, she's not my girlfriend, she's my wife."

The little girl suddenly realized and laughed, "Haha, then brother, how about buying a bouquet of flowers for your wife?"

Song Yuwei felt her face getting hot for some reason, probably from the sun.

"Okay, I'll buy it." Jiang Cheng finished the last bite of his ice cream and took out his phone.

Although he has the mental capacity of a child, his family and Jiang Mo have taught him many times how to use a mobile phone to buy things.

"Received 20 yuan via xxbao!"

The girl smiled happily, took a bunch of bright red roses from the basket, and handed them to Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng took it and gave it to Song Yuwei, saying, "Take it, wife."

The girl looked at Song Yuwei and said with some envy, "Sister, you're so lucky to have such a handsome husband who even sends you flowers."

Song Yuwei: ……

It has to be said that she has some social anxiety, and being said that and seen like that, she was really embarrassed!

"Okay, okay, let's go, we still need to return the shopping cart."

Song Yuwei took the roses and quickly wheeled herself forward.

Jiang Cheng hurriedly followed, "Wife, slow down."

Song Yuwei and Jiang Cheng walked for quite a while before finally arriving at the Jiang family home.

The Jiang family's estate is like a European castle, even its manor is ridiculously large.

It was Song Yuwei's first time here, and she even felt a little lost.

But with Jiang Cheng by her side, she felt less confused and decided to just follow him.

They ran into the Jiang family's butler not long after they started walking. Song Yuwei recognized the butler; they had met him a few days earlier at the abandoned factory.

However, considering that Jiang Cheng was so badly injured back then, he is now as good as if nothing happened.

It has to be said that his self-healing ability is ridiculously strong, or perhaps this fictional world is different from the real world he once knew, so he might recover from injuries faster.

"Young Master, you're back."

The housekeeper rushed over and, seeing Jiang Cheng pushing two large shopping carts, quickly called the nanny to help him push them.

Jiang Cheng didn't need to push the shopping cart anymore, so he immediately went to push Song Yuwei's cart.

With her hands freed, Song Yuwei felt a great sense of relief and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Young Madam, don't you have an electric wheelchair?" the butler asked, seeing that Jiang Cheng still needed to push her.

"No," Song Yuwei replied. She felt that the housekeeper must have a lot of feelings for Jiang Cheng, which was why she felt sorry for him and couldn't bear to let him push the shopping cart, nor could she bear to let him push her.

"Well then, I'll talk to your husband and have him contact a company that specializes in making wheelchairs, and then have one custom-made just for you."

The housekeeper said considerately.

Song Yuwei shook her head, "No need, I've already talked to my dad, and I expect to get a new wheelchair in a few days."

Before he could finish speaking, his phone rang.

Song Yuwei glanced at the caller ID and answered the call.

"Daughter! What are you doing now? Have you had lunch?" Zhao Yunye's doting and concerned voice came through the receiver.

He felt like he missed his beloved daughter terribly if he didn't see her for a day, and he didn't stay at the wedding for long before leaving because he didn't want to see his daughter getting too close to that jerk.

He even found Jiang Cheng extremely displeasing during a casual glance yesterday!

If it weren't for him, our daughter might have stayed at home a few more days.

To avoid worrying him, Song Yuwei could only say, "I've already eaten, and I just got home."

"Going home? Does that mean going back to the Jiang family?"

"Yes."

Zhao Yunye pursed his lips and said somewhat unhappily, "Oh."

Song Yuwei knew he wasn't just making a casual call, so she asked, "Dad, is there anything else?"

Zhao Yunye then remembered the purpose of his call. "Oh! Daughter, didn't you say you didn't have an electric wheelchair? I promised to get you one the other day, and I've got it ready for you today. I'll bring it over to you!"

"Okay, I'll send you the location."

Zhao Yunye said happily, "Great, great, I'll just go and see you."

After hanging up the phone, Song Yuwei felt that Zhao Yunye was definitely a doting father. He could have had his subordinates bring it to her, but he insisted on coming in person. Wasn't he just using the excuse of bringing her a wheelchair to come and see her?

As she was thinking, the butler beside her asked suspiciously, "Young Madam, you just mentioned your father. As far as I know, didn't you lose both your father and mother when you were young?"

The butler asked somewhat cautiously, without intending to offend Song Yuwei.

Song Yuwei casually said, "I've found a godfather."

The housekeeper then realized, oh, so it was a recognition...

"Honey, look, there's a kitten over there."

Jiang Cheng stopped and pointed to the kitten not far ahead.

Looking in the direction he was pointing,
