Chapter Twenty Breakfast

Song Yuwei woke up around 7 a.m. the next morning, washed up, and went downstairs.

I heard Lin Huali's voice as soon as I stepped out of the elevator.

"Yuwei, you're up so early! Come here, come over here. Today, Auntie made some things to nourish your blood and qi. Your aunt said your body is too weak and you should nourish yourself to become healthier."

"Oh, okay, Uncle." Song Yuwei pretended that nothing had happened, went over to the table, and parked the wheelchair.

"Yuwei, you had an argument with your aunt yesterday. I was just doing my work and didn't interfere, so you weren't upset, were you?" Lin Huali handed Song Yuwei a steamed bun and asked her tentatively.

Song Yuwei took the bun and took a big bite. "It's okay, what's the big deal? Families always have disagreements. A little bickering doesn't hurt feelings. I just don't know if my aunt will still talk to me in the future."

Lin Huali paused, feeling that Song Yuwei's changes were too rapid and unpredictable.

“Your aunt will definitely not ignore you. She has always cared about you a lot. Even the food we have today was made by her asking the aunt to make it for you. So, you're right, every family has its arguments, it's normal to argue. It's just that you really misunderstood us yesterday. We didn't mean to make you wear those outdated wedding dresses.”

Lin Huali gave her a friendly smile, as if he really considered her family.

At this moment, Chen Zimei also came out of the kitchen with a pot of meat soup. "Yuwei? You got up so early. I thought you young people liked to sleep in! It seems I have been too lenient with Ren Yuran! This girl sleeps in at home all day long. She never gets up before 9 o'clock. She is also often late for class. She is really lawless. I will make this child learn from you from now on."

Song Yuwei knew that everyone in this family was a good actor; as long as there was enough profit to drive them, they could put on any kind of act.

"Auntie, maybe it's because I'm a young person who's different from others. I don't necessarily want my sister to follow my example."

"Come, come, have a taste. This is soup made from an old hen. It's very nutritious. Look at you, you're sick and so thin. You must be very unhealthy. You should eat more and nourish yourself properly."

Chen Zimei served her a bowl of soup. It was glossy and looked delicious. The aroma that wafted over her instantly whetted Song Yuwei's appetite.

"Thank you, Auntie."

After taking it, Song Yuwei gulped down half a bowl in two big gulps.

It really tastes good!

"Your appetite is really enviable. You can scold me, but now that I'm getting old, nothing tastes good to me. If I could eat like you, I would be so happy."

Chen Zimei said with no small amount of envy, but her back teeth were clenched tightly. She was truly impressed!

This soup was clearly made for Ren Yuran!

However, she overheard Lin Huali and Song Yuwei's conversation in the kitchen and knew that Lin Huali was trying to create a persona for her and gain some goodwill, so she went along with it.

But she never expected that Song Yuwei would enjoy drinking so much!

“Aunt, I once read a medical book that said people shouldn’t have too many entanglements. For example, if someone is too jealous or hateful, they are prone to loss of appetite. I’m sure you don’t have these problems, Aunt.”

Song Yuwei looked at Chen Zimei, blinked, and said in a serious tone.

What she's saying now isn't something she saw in any book at all; what book has such a thing written in it?

Chen Zimei's face darkened, and she didn't know where to vent her anger.

But when she saw Lin Huali's look, signaling her to be patient, she took a deep breath.

"Forehead……"

Song Yuwei suppressed her inner laughter and said, "How about this, Aunt, I read in a book that if someone is jealous of others, resents someone, or is angry about someone, then they should talk to others about it. Maybe you can tell me, and I can enlighten you."

Chen Zimei gripped the tablecloth, closed her eyes, and suppressed the urge to curse.

Could she say that the person she resents, is jealous of, and is angry with most is sitting right in front of her at this very moment, constantly provoking her?

"Yuwei, come on, let's stop talking about those irrelevant things. The book you're reading probably isn't some shocking theory. Your aunt doesn't interact with many people, and she rarely even goes online. So she doesn't care much about other people's lives, probably because she's getting old."

Lin Huali broke the awkward atmosphere at the right moment and put another piece of meat on Song Yuwei's plate.

The breakfast was incredibly lavish, but Song Yuwei pretended nothing had happened and happily ate her breakfast.

Ren Yuran was lectured by Chen Zimei last night, who told her to get up and go to bed early in the future and to remember to eat breakfast every day so as not to ruin her stomach. She hated Chen Zimei's nagging, so she agreed.

But when she got up, it was already eight o'clock, and she didn't know if breakfast was ready yet.

When she came downstairs, she heard them talking in the restaurant area.

"Yuwei, it won't be long. We'll probably start preparing for the wedding tomorrow night. You'll be getting married soon. Today you'll probably be trying on wedding dresses. Those dresses are just for you to reference. We want you to have some ideas about classic styles, and then we'll buy the best ones based on your preferences..."

"Dad, Mom, what happened to all the food on the table? It's all been eaten! Shouldn't you be waiting for me to come down and eat with you?"

Ren Yuran pointed to the breakfast on the table that had already been touched by someone else. There used to be an unwritten rule in this family.

That is, Ren Yuran will only start eating breakfast after she gets up. At other times, no one else can eat until Ren Yuran has taken a bite.

She hasn't even gotten out of bed yet, and all the food has already been eaten!

"Yuran, why are you only getting up now? I told you to get up around 7:30 and then go downstairs for breakfast. We've already eaten!"

Chen Zimei knew her daughter would definitely be angry now, so she said in a flustered manner, but she couldn't say that she was doing this to please Song Yuwei.

After all, Song Yuwei will be getting married soon, so if they can appease her at this time, it will be very beneficial for them.

They will need the Jiang family's help a lot in the future!

As for how to invite them, that's something Song Yuwei will have to figure out.

"Mom, how can you talk like that? From childhood to adulthood, haven't you always only started eating after I got up? And you only started eating after I had finished! How come now it's your turn to eat first and me to eat your leftovers?"
