Chapter 415 Our Uncle, isn't he your father?

"Brother, didn't Uncle tell you anything about it?"

Seeing the obvious unspoken understanding among the four of them, while he alone remained in the dark, Cheng Chao grew increasingly suspicious.

What's making you all so serious?

Normally, if it's something important, you shouldn't let your child know!

Looking at this and that, Cheng Chao felt so frustrated that he slammed his hand on the table.

"Confess now!"

The group of people immediately shuddered.

Lin Dongfang glanced at Jian Dan, then at the child, and finally at the silent Cheng Chao, before weakly raising his hand.

"Should I go first?"

Seeing that no one spoke, Lin Dongfang could only begin silently.

"Well, something happened to Zhuzhu's family, but I couldn't find out where they were sent. I only recently heard that Grandpa didn't make it, and Uncle Ming was transferred here after a lot of moving. I suspect that the one with the leg problems is Uncle Ming."

Cheng Chao frowned.

"Grandpa Ming is gone?"

"Yes, I only found out after asking around. It seems like someone deliberately hid their whereabouts. They've been here for quite a while. At that time, the information I found said they were being sent down to the mining area or farm, so I didn't pay attention to this."

They are quiet people, and almost never appear in front of the villagers. Yesterday was the first time I met them.

"Let's be cautious. It's chaotic outside, but this place is a bit secluded and quieter."

But are you sure?

Lin Dongfang nodded.

"It's pretty much true. There's been a lot of noise around here these past few days, so I'm thinking of going over to check it out when it's quiet to confirm."

Cheng Chao seemed to be deep in thought.

"And the other thing?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he felt the eyes of several people, young and old, focusing on him, and he couldn't help but frown again.

"Just say what you have to say, why are you looking at me?"

Simply touch your nose.

"Let the child tell you this!"

Cheng Chao's heart sank; he knew this was no good news.

Cheng Rui was eager to try.

"Brother, shall I tell you?"

Cheng Chao's forehead throbbed, and he quickly reached out his hand.

"Stop, Xiao An, you tell us."

"Huh?"

Cheng An was quick to speak, summarizing it simply in one sentence.

"The other person in the cowshed looks a bit like the old man in the photo at my home."

"Huh? Who's the boss?"

Cheng Chao didn't understand.

"Who is in the photo? Some people look alike, so how did you determine that?"

"Our uncle, my dad says he's his older brother."

The eyes and ears are exactly the same as in the photo.

Cheng Chao was dumbfounded.

"What the heck? What the heck? Who do you think it looks like?"

"My grandpa,"

Cheng Rui was anxious on the side.

"Brother, isn't our uncle your father?"

Cheng Chao jumped up, causing the chair to tip over and tilt backward a few times before coming to a stop.

"That's impossible, you two must have seen wrong,"

The three children looked completely innocent. They weren't sure themselves, but something felt off, which is why they were paying extra attention.

Lin Dongfang was also dumbfounded.

He knew the Cheng family and was aware of Cheng Jia's situation, so he was quite surprised to hear this.

"Your father, Uncle Cheng, it's not him, it's not him..."

Upon hearing the news, Cheng Chao was shocked. After standing up, he gradually calmed down.

He knows his own children well enough not to joke about something like this. Even if his sister had only been back for a short time and wasn't entirely clear on the situation, it's impossible for the two children not to know.

Just now, Jian Dan simply pushed the child out.

"Xiao An, Xiao Rui, tell your older brother, why do you have this idea?"

Cheng Chao's reaction was so sudden that even the two children were taken aback.

“Big brother, we saw that person. His eyes and ears are very similar to the one in the family photo. It’s the little tuft on his ear that my dad said all of his brothers have.”

Then he recounted what had happened that day, but Cheng Chao still found it unbelievable.

"Just because of this?"

"If you find anything suspicious, you should tell the adults. Besides, that person even calls him Old Cheng."

After briefly exchanging glances with the two children, and saying this,

"It seems rather hasty!"

"Big brother, we just didn't know what to do, so we rushed to tell our uncle. We didn't cause any trouble."

"That's right, our Xiao An and Xiao Rui are both so sensible now."

Cheng Chao's mind was in turmoil, his face flushed and paled in turns, and he slightly gripped the fabric of his knees. After saying a few perfunctory words, he dragged Lin Dongfang out.

Cheng Rui glanced out the window a few times.

"Sis, do you think Big Brother will believe it?"

"I don't know, but my older brother is an adult. Whether he believes it or not, he will think things through carefully. We kids shouldn't worry about it."

"Pour me a glass of water."

One minute they're being told to pour water, the next they're being told to roast chestnuts. With their hands full, the two children have no time to think about anything else.

After lying in bed for several days, Jian Dan's bones were completely stiff. Even the slightest movement was painful, and she could occasionally hear cracking sounds when she stretched her arms and legs. Her two children teased her about it.

"Sis, are you going to grow taller?"

Jian Dan's height has finally increased humbly, probably reaching 1.65 meters. Although long legs are out of the question, it's at least at the average height, and Jian Dan is reasonably satisfied.

However, it's hardly a pleasant topic.

When it comes to growing taller, Jian Dan is just like a cat with its fur standing on end.
