Chapter 574 An injured

"By the way, do you need an oxcart to take you there?"

Having received approval, I decided not to linger any longer, as I was genuinely quite worried.

"No need, Uncle. Xiao Rui came by car, so we'll just take that car."

Cheng Jin naturally couldn't let Cheng Rui walk here alone. After all, he's still a child. How could he be so carefree? He specially arranged a car for him, and Jian Dan only saw it when they went out.

However, having a car did put them at ease; if the oxcart had actually wobbled past, she would have been frantic.

When Cheng Rui got home, he was staring at his puppies, who hadn't come home in ages.

"Jixiang? Jixiang, you've grown so much?"

"Woof~~"

"Awoo~"

Oh, and there's also a wolf cub that's almost as big as a lucky dog. Cheng Rui had seen the fluffy little cub when it was a puppy, but this one is clearly several sizes bigger. To be honest, even if Cheng Rui were naive, he couldn't possibly play with it like a puppy anymore. Seeing it still made him a little scared.

She pushed the door open and came in. A man, a dog, and a wolf all turned to look at her at the same time, which gave her a strange sense of joy. However, time was of the essence, so she didn't think much of it.

"Have you eaten? I'm going to the cowshed to find someone. Wait here for me for a bit and we'll set off."

Cheng Rui immediately forgot about the dog and the wolf.

"Hey, I'll go lock the door."

Jian Dan wanted to leave quickly, but unfortunately, her own son wasn't cooperating.

As soon as she started to walk out, Jixiang came over to stop her, stretched out her head to bite her clothes, and pulled her out.

She tried to dodge it several times but couldn't. Before she knew it, it dragged her several steps toward the door. What made her speechless was that while Jixiang was pulling her from the front, the little wolf cub, whether playing or not, was pushing her from behind.

Well, she was caught between a wolf and a dog. Luckily, she was strong, otherwise she would have been carried away.

"Stop, stop, stop! Jixiang, what are you doing? I have things to do. I don't have time to play with you today!"

"And you, you all come back and cause trouble!"

"Let me go, Jixiang, can't you hear me?"

These were huge dogs, almost up to my chest, embracing me from both sides. They were all furry, and it was really hard for me to accept.

"Woof woof!"

He let go, but he still called out to her and strained towards the mountain.

The little wolf cub ran a long way towards the foot of the mountain, then turned back and howled at her.

Luckily, this is at the foot of the mountain. By now, all the villagers who were going to go up the mountain have gone up, and the people from the cowshed have also gone up the mountain. There's no one else around, otherwise, it would be quite lively.

"What are you doing? Are you telling me to go up the mountain?"

"Woof woof!"

Seeing that she didn't move, Jixiang started talking again in a hurry, and the little wolf rushed back.

Jian Dan quickly retreated to hide.

"Wait a minute, let me think about what you're up to. Thank goodness everyone's already up the mountain, otherwise..."

Suddenly he stopped, and blurted out a complaint.

"Holy crap! They've all gone up the mountain? Doesn't that mean Old Mu has to go up the mountain too?"

He had no time to play with the dog anymore; he turned and ran towards the cowshed.

"Xiao Rui, wait here for a moment, I'll be right back."

The young soldier driving outside was stunned. He recognized the dog, and he also recognized the wolf. Seeing Jian Dan fight the wolf without any mercy, he didn't dare to get out of the car.

Jian ran quickly to the cowshed, and Liu Weimin also rushed over.

"Xiao Jian, I remember now, those guys from the cowshed went to... ah?"

As soon as he reached the door, he was confronted with the wolf cub's distinctive face, and even Liu Weimin, with his old arms and legs, felt a little out of control.

Fortunately, the wolf cub glanced at him, found it boring, and turned to chase after Jian Dan. Liu Weimin was finally able to let out his pent-up anger.

Cheng Rui rushed out, somewhat speechless. This matter was impossible to explain, so he simply changed the subject.

"Uncle Village Chief, are you looking for my sister?"

She went to the cowshed to look for someone.

Liu Weimin was still in a daze, and it took him a couple of beats to react.

"Huh? Ah~ the cowshed, ah, the cowshed, I just remembered, the cowshed is collecting firewood on that road to the west today, don't let your sister go and find nothing again."

It's certain that we'll come up empty-handed.

We absolutely have to climb this mountain.

It's simple, but I'm a bit speechless. I feel like I've been doing useless work all morning.

Coincidentally, the direction she was going to find Lao Mu was the same as the direction Ji Xiang was going. Cheng Rui was anxious, but he knew that being anxious was useless. They hadn't found the doctor, so going back wouldn't help either.

He quietly followed behind Jian Dan.

This road is further west, and the vegetation is not as lush as this side. There are not many people there. Whether the villagers are gathering firewood, picking vegetables, or collecting wild produce, they rarely go there. It's too desolate. In the words of the farmers, those things are all overgrown by weeds and don't grow as much as there is firewood.

This area was noticeably more desolate than the one they usually frequented, and Jian Dan had hardly ever walked through it before.

The road was covered in grass, and Jian Dan followed Ji Xiang's footsteps, stumbling along. Fortunately, they hadn't gone far when they heard voices ahead.

Oh no, to be more precise, the first thing I heard was a child crying.

Jian Dan's first reaction was to frown. The voice sounded quite familiar. Suddenly, she felt uneasy, and her steps slowed a few beats. Cheng Rui was puzzled.

"Sis, what's wrong?"

I gave him a simple, sympathetic look. Who would have thought that finding a doctor would be so difficult?
