"Second Aunt, Chao-ge and I grew up together, you can just call me Qinghuai."
I'm not familiar with you, but I met my second uncle as soon as I arrived at the border. I practically grew up in the Cheng family, so please don't treat me like a stranger. Just tell me what to do, just like you would ask Brother Chao.
Tang Sumei had no idea that the person had come with Cheng Chao, so she simply brought him back.
"Okay, okay, what happened to your face?"
"Don't go, everyone! We just finished dividing the meat; we'll eat here later."
After saying that, he hurriedly went into the house. Cheng Rui glanced at him and hurriedly followed him in.
Cheng Chao then pointed to it.
“My second uncle’s twins, the one who went in was the elder brother Cheng Rui, and this is the younger brother Cheng An.”
Then he pointed to Simple,
"This heroine is simple; as for her identity, you should have guessed it already,"
Jian Dan kicked Cheng Chao in frustration, nodded to Qin Qinghuai, and turned to go inside.
Seeing how clearly he explained it, Qin Qinghuai was convinced that his guess was absolutely correct, and suppressed the sour feeling that had just begun to rise in his heart.
"Yes, I haven't congratulated you yet. Let me know when you've finalized your decision. We've been childhood friends, so I should at least prepare a generous gift."
Cheng Chao, “??????”
What is this? What kind of gift is this?
Cheng An blinked, looked at this person and that person, then suddenly turned around, his shoulders shaking uncontrollably. Soon, laughter escaped from the corners of his mouth.
Qin Qinghuai realized that he might have made a fool of himself with his words, and scratched his head helplessly.
"Xiao An, what are you laughing at?"
Cheng An still had tears welling up in her eyes, and she couldn't help but gesture, pointing at Cheng Chao and then at the room, putting her two thumbs together.
Cheng Chao wasn't stupid either. He put Qin Qinghuai's words together and made a connection, and his face immediately darkened.
He reached out and hit Qin Qinghuai without any strategy, simply out of anger and embarrassment.
"What kind of eyesight do you have? You're just randomly matchmaking people up, and you can't do it like that! Really!"
I thought what you said was weird, but I didn't expect you to think so twistedly.
What kind of look is that? Didn't you say you were so great? Can't you see any resemblance between us?
You idiot, you big idiot, that's my sister, my sister who shares the same bloodline as the Cheng family.
You're driving me crazy!
Qin Qinghuai stood there dumbfounded, letting Cheng Chao vent his anger. He was completely stunned, and only one sentence echoed in his mind.
"She's my sister,"
He felt as if his whole body was boiling, his chest was burning intensely, and he couldn't hear what Cheng Chao said. Only that one sentence echoed in his mind.
"She's your sister?"
Cheng Chao hadn't quite grasped the situation; he still thought the man was just embarrassed because he had misunderstood something.
"Yes, she's my sister. Our relationship is exactly the same as your own sister's, you hear me?"
If I find out you're not taking this seriously, let me tell you, I won't let you off the hook.
Cheng An stared in disbelief as his brother, with just a few words, handed his sister over to the other party. Qin Huaiqing, however, had already realized what was happening, his eyes gleaming with undisguised glee.
Cheng An was speechless. With a family tragedy and so much time spent in the army, he was no longer a naive child. Was his brother, who was already this age, stupid? Couldn't he hear something amiss in such obvious words?
Cheng Chao thought he had made good arrangements for his sister. When he turned his head, he met Cheng An's gaze as if he were an idiot. His first reaction was to examine himself from head to toe.
This younger brother is completely different from Cheng Rui, that stubborn and reckless man. He's a shrewd and cunning fox. Although he's still young, his brain is just as sharp as his childhood friend's.
That one was easy to fool, but he dared not underestimate this one; one careless move and he could easily fall into a trap.
"What's wrong? What kind of look is that?"
Cheng An looked him up and down twice, but didn't expose him.
Ultimately, the fact that this person has gained his brother's approval means he's passed the first hurdle. If he really has feelings for his sister, it might not necessarily be a bad thing.
After thinking about it, he decided to inform his mother first. His mother had been very busy these past few days and had met most of the people in the village. They also felt that none of the villagers were good enough for his sister.
But his mother was right. His sister couldn't live like this forever. They couldn't be with her all the time. It would be more secure for her to have her own little family.
Besides, as the saying goes, "people fear becoming famous, just as pigs fear becoming fat." Whether his sister's reputation is good or bad, she's definitely famous now.
If he continues to remain single, I'm not afraid of anything else, but I'm worried that someone will always have designs on him. In the long run, that won't be a good thing for his sister.
Thinking this, he shook his head and followed them into the house, leaving Cheng Chao behind, looking completely bewildered.
Ever since realizing he had misunderstood the relationship between Jian Dan and Cheng Chao, Qin Huaiqing had been in a state of confusion, sometimes chuckling and sometimes serious and tense, leaving the others looking at each other in bewilderment.
Simple's opinion of this person changed to: he's a bit off.
After the meal, Cheng Chao took the people away, leaving only the mother and children. Only then did Tang Sumei speak.
"Xiao An, do you know what happened?"
She had only been able to hold back her questions until now because she saw the reassuring look in her son's eyes. Cheng An sighed.
"Mom, didn't you notice anything unusual about him?"
"Abnormal?"
Tang Sumei frowned and thought for a moment.
"He seems hungry; he hasn't been looking up much, nothing seems wrong?"
Cheng An sighed again.
"Mom, he may be hungry, but since he grew up with my older brother, our two families can't be so polite when we sit down for a meal together, right?"
