Chapter 708 The Whole Day Is Yours

"I,"

"You're having trouble moving around now, and it's been like this for months?"

If you delay for a few more months, and your leg misses the best opportunity for treatment, then you won't have time to hesitate. You won't be able to spend the money you want. By then, your leg will probably be completely unusable, and you'll have to stay in bed all day. All the chores will really fall on your child's shoulders then.

Your son will have to cook and do his own laundry when he comes back, tsk tsk!

Auntie, do you think it's worth saving this little bit of money?

Sister-in-law Wang blinked, then suddenly turned her head and covered her mouth.

The old lady was also quite frightened by the scene described in simple terms.

"No, that can't be. I just feel a little pain, how could it be that serious?"

Sister-in-law Wang coughed a few times before turning around.

"Auntie, what do you think?"

You were injured back then, and the pain means the injury hasn't healed.

Well, let me tell you, if you cut your hand and it gets infected, are you just going to stand by and watch it? Right?

Auntie, isn't that the same principle? These illnesses always get worse the longer you wait. Are you trying to save money?

"Look at these past six months, you haven't been able to get out of bed. Look at the house, the garden, the house—no one's been taking care of it, has they? Who's been cooking and washing clothes every day, hasn't they?"

The old lady held feudalistic ideas, always thinking that minor illnesses could be endured and would pass.

"Does this mean I made a mistake in trying to save money?"

This realization was still somewhat unacceptable to the old lady, and she immediately became flustered.

"I was thinking that it's not easy for my son to grow straight, so I wanted to save some money wherever possible. The bones will grow bigger eventually,"

"Auntie, it takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone, and it usually takes three or four months to fully heal. Yours has taken so long, I suspect it might be inflamed or misaligned. We're not doctors, we can't be careless about these things!"

The newcomers, singing in unison, left the old lady completely bewildered.

"real?"

The two nodded in unison.

"Of course, if you don't believe me, ask your son tonight. They work outside and know a lot."

Sure enough, when Chen's son returned home that evening, his mother immediately demanded that he take her to the clinic. Although he was confused, he had to hurry once the old lady finally figured it out.

"Come on, come on, I'll carry you, let's go now."

Jian Dan and Wang's wife had no idea that the effect would be so immediate. When Qin Qinghuai and Wang's eldest brother returned, Jian Dan and Wang's wife were eating sunflower seeds over the wall, laughing so loudly that the sound could be heard outside the gate.

"What are you saying that makes you so happy?"

"You're back?"

Sister-in-law Wang waved her hand and followed her husband back into the house, her mouth still chattering.

"Hey, are you watching the garden? Look at the seedlings that Xiao Jian is tying, they're so nice. She planted too many, and after she finished planting them, she gave me the rest."

"Hey, let me tell you, the two of us took the rest of the seedlings to Aunt Chen's house. Aunt Chen's leg still hurts, and she's afraid to walk. To save money, she won't go to the doctor or take any medicine. Little Jian was so scared that when we left, the old lady's face changed."

"Maybe I'll have to go see him in the next couple of days."

The man smiled, recalling the people he had met on the road.

"The effect was amazing. When she came back just now, her son was carrying her to the clinic."

"Really?"

Sister-in-law Wang clapped her hands hard.

"You know what, this little Jian girl is quite clever."

Qin Qinghuai hung up his coat and casually asked,

"You went out?"

How did you know? You're back?

"No, Aunt Zhu fainted, and Xiao Yi brought her back. He saw you and the neighbor's wife carrying baskets as you left."

"Aunt Zhu fainted? Isn't the pigsty being repaired over there? Does Aunt Zhu really need to do the work herself?"

Qin Qinghuai rolled up his sleeves and headed to the kitchen.

"It's not from being tired. I was tortured and criticized over there a few days ago, which damaged my health. I've been so busy these past few days that my blood pressure has gone up. The military doctor prescribed some medicine, so I'm sending him back to rest."

"High blood pressure? Shouldn't we go get it checked out?"

"We'll eat later. Uncle Yu and the others aren't finished yet; they'll probably be back in a bit."

"Okay, whatever you say. What delicious food do you want to make?"

Upon hearing the mention of delicious food, Qin Qinghuai paused, then abruptly abandoned the task.

"Now that you mention it, I'm craving some too. Do you have any more good food inside? How about I get you some ready-made?"

She simply squinted and nodded; it suited her perfectly.

"Mmm, that's what I was thinking too, let's eat something appetizing,"

As soon as they closed the door, the couple appeared in the base's canteen. There was a row of food stalls with steaming bowls of snacks and cooked dishes on them.

Hot and sour rice noodles, spicy hot pot, snail rice noodles, grilled cold noodles, braised beef, fried chicken frame, fried red sausage, chicken cutlet, roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), rice noodles, rice noodle rolls, radish and beef brisket, roast goose, roast duck, double-skin milk pudding, barbecue, seafood...

Almost every local snack has one or two of these: steaming hot, with a mix of various aromas. It's easy to make up for all the snacks I've eaten over the years with the automatic function of the space.

Simple was that he rushed over as soon as he came in.

"You choose for yourself."

She first took a tray and filled it with a bowl of rice, a sauerkraut fish dish, chicken frames, skewers, grilled seafood, and grilled pig's trotters.

When we went to see Qin Qinghuai again, to our surprise, he was carrying two bowls of snail rice noodles, a serving of beef, grilled seafood, and roast goose.

He carried the tray out and breathed a simple sigh of relief.

"Oh, finally we can eat these things openly and honestly."

"What, you didn't eat it before?"
