Chapter 715 Blossoming Everywhere

Commander Lin has managed to stay here peacefully for so many years, so he is certainly not a rough man who only knows how to fight. He does have some education, but to be honest, it is far from enough for the leadership position and future development.

It wasn't that Qin Qinghuai was being sarcastic; it was just that Commander Lin himself had said it many times. In addition, Qin Qinghuai's arrival made him feel pressured. When they were discussing picking up those professors, he joked to himself that the future still belonged to intellectuals.

After settling everyone in, Commander Lin felt somewhat relieved.

"Over the years, it would be a lie to say I haven't thought about them, but it's unrealistic to go and see them one by one."

Those with intact arms and legs are a bit better off, that's how it is,"

He paused, then sighed.

“I know that most of them will encounter various problems after they go back, but I really have no other choice. How I wish they would all stay! It may be poor here, but with me here, they can at least have something to eat and go back to their hometowns.”

He shook his head.

"They were only capable of doing manual labor to begin with, but in this state, there really isn't much they can do,"

"Commander, some of these veterans have been here for over ten years, right?"

He suddenly changed the subject, and Commander Lin was taken aback.

"Yes, they are all conscripts. The longest service is twenty years, and the shortest is five or six years. No one will voluntarily choose to be discharged unless absolutely necessary. After all, whether the army is good or not, they can at least eat their fill, and the allowance can help support their families. It's a pretty good treatment."

"So their only option after this is demobilization?"

Qin Qinghuai subtly steered Commander Lin toward the topic he wanted to discuss. Commander Lin, being no fool, quickly sensed something was amiss. He stared at Qin Qinghuai for a few seconds, then let out a soft hum.

"Just say what you want to say, why are you beating around the bush with me?"

With a light laugh, Qin Qinghuai didn't beat around the bush.

"The opportunity to take the lead has come. Yes, we want to find a way out for the brothers."

It's easier said than done. Building kindergartens and schools is quick. With a large population, they don't need to be particularly big or elaborate; they can be completed in a month.

But if it really comes to a decision, finding a teacher will be a difficult task.

The only highly educated family member in the compound was probably Jian Dan, but without even asking, Qin Qinghuai himself refused.

"My wife doesn't like this job, you should find someone else."

"Others would love to have their wives do something, but you're pushing them out,"

“She really doesn’t like it. Just a couple of days ago she told me she was afraid she wouldn’t have the patience for the children. There are several children and elderly people at home, so she can’t feel at ease letting them go to work.”

Besides, at my age, having children is just a matter of time, isn't it?

Whether it was true or not, the excuse was certainly useful. Commander Lin knew that the couple weren't short of money, so he didn't try to persuade them further.

"Oh dear, this adds another task. Where are we going to find a teacher? Kindergarten needs patient teachers who know how to soothe children, and primary school needs teachers with real skills!"

"Yes, primary school is fine, but we need to be extra careful with the training classes for the brothers here. They all come from rural areas and are naturally sensitive and resistant to people who are educated. Especially as they get older, they are already very used to the current environment, and their resistance to new things may be more obvious. Many of them may need to adjust psychologically. So we need to think carefully about who to choose."

Commander Lin nodded, but wasn't overly worried.

"With you, the political commissar, here, I have nothing to worry about."

But from what Cheng Chao was saying, it seemed like, "What, this school, we'll build this side first, but not that side?"

"It's not that we won't build it, it's just that we'll put it on hold for now. The area is mainly used for training, and the few old men who are stationed there are all single. There isn't even a single soldier accompanying them. They all live in dormitories. Even if we build it, it will be mainly for the brothers."

Moreover, those are all fresh recruits, so physical training is still the main focus for now.”

"Hey? Don't try to fool me. I know that the younger you are, the faster you learn things."

"Yes, yes, you're so perceptive, you noticed that."

Qin Qinghuai chuckled.

"One more thing, things are going on everywhere over there right now, and they're incredibly busy with manpower and resources. If we were to allocate even more time to them, their energy would be too scattered. Rather than letting them learn everything but master nothing, it would be better to have a focus and let them concentrate on improving their physical fitness first. This would also give them a chance to observe their own strengths, and then we can tailor our teaching to their individual needs when they arrive here later."

"Personalized instruction? Is that what you're thinking about?"

The two walked slowly toward the busy farmland.

"Yes, it's similar to how we divide our troops into different branches."

Team leader, actually, out of so many of us, there aren't that many who are truly suited to learning. However, everyone has their own strengths. Those who are good at farming or animal husbandry are now in a good position, so they don't have to worry about anything. Learning and internships are readily available.

There are also people who are good at driving, car repair, cooking, wood carving, brick making, and maybe even those who are interested in these machines or have other talents.

We don't ask for anything else, just that they can shine in their areas of expertise. Even if they can't stay in the end, taking that skill back home is a way out; you never know when it might come in handy.

"That's true,"
