It was late, and she didn't plan to go any further. She just wanted to get something, anything, as long as she had a legitimate excuse to eat meat. So she didn't hide anything on her way up the mountain. Many family members who were gathering firewood saw her going up the mountain, but she didn't pay any attention to them.
Before she even reached the mountain, the news had already spread throughout the family compound.
The adults were either at work or at home taking care of the old man, so the children who came home from school were the first to hear the news. Compared to the panic of Qin Jing and the others, Cheng Rui and Cheng An were overjoyed and immediately handed their schoolbags to Qin Jing.
