Anyone with young children knows that there are always a lot of leftover snacks and fruits from kids. It might seem like the kids don't eat much, but they actually eat quite a variety of things, and they can't finish any of them. Jian Liye didn't mind the two pieces of apple left after scraping off the mud; he just took it as the child's way of showing him affection, and he even deliberately glanced at Cheng Chao.
Cheng Chaojiu was speechless, but since this was an elder, he couldn't get too angry. He just snorted and started talking about other things.
Coincidentally, it was the same class as Fifth Brother Zhu Xing again. Because we hadn't contacted each other beforehand, he only found out when he saw the tickets during the ticket check.
He already knew about his parents' situation, so when he saw Qin Qinghuai, he was incredibly grateful and took great care of them. Hot water, snacks, and lunch were quickly brought over by the train attendants, and the table was now completely full.
Qin Qinghuai had no choice.
"Fifth Brother, I don't need anything, you don't need to worry about us. With our relationship, why are you being so polite with me?"
"You're welcome, you're welcome. I'm just serving the people. You go away. Sister-in-law, is this our baby?"
Their relationship was too close and they were too familiar with each other. Zhu Xing's polite and grateful mode only lasted a short while before her attention turned to the little one.
"My mom told me that my sister-in-law gave birth to a really beautiful baby. I'm really looking forward to seeing him/her. He/She is so beautiful!"
The little one was sitting in Jian Dan's lap, a well-behaved little bundle of joy, blinking his eyes as he looked on. To be honest, for Zhu Xing, a grown man, it was too cute; he didn't even dare to speak loudly.
He wanted to tease the child, so he forced a smile. The child stared at him with wide eyes, not reacting yet. He felt a little uncomfortable, coughed twice, and suddenly remembered something.
"Wait a minute?"
After saying that, he turned around and ran out of the carriage, as if something was chasing him.
"Huh? Fifth Brother?"
Even extending Er Kang's hand couldn't stop him, so he looked at Qin Qinghuai, who waved his hand.
"It's nothing, they're probably just going to get something for the child."
"This is... Qinghuai's friend?"
Cheng Chao had met him before, but the only person he didn't recognize was Jian Liye. He had met many people, but this one just didn't seem to fit his description.
"It's quite interesting."
Cheng Chao explained the relationships between the group in a low voice, and Jian Liye nodded from time to time.
Soon, Zhu Xing returned, panting. Just as Qin Qinghuai had expected, she was carrying something and shoved it directly into the little boy's arms.
“My dear niece, take this and play with it for now. I was just following along today and didn’t expect to run into you. I didn’t bring anything nice with me. I’ll make it up to you next time.”
Even sitting in an adult's lap, the child was jolted and stumbled, forced to hold something as big as his head in his little hands, staring at him blankly for a long time before looking down at his new gift.
"Fifth Brother, did you buy this for your child? You should take it back; she's still young, she won't know how to play with it."
"Ah! No! Baby!"
Jian Dan had assumed Zhu Xing would refuse, since it was a gift. She never expected to be betrayed by her.
Still holding this tiny baby in her arms, she thought she had misheard, and couldn't help but look down.
"Girl, is that you? What did you say?"
The little one was holding that rather large roly-poly toy. He'd been forced to hold it before, but now he was hugging it to his chest willingly, like a little animal guarding its food, his little head tilted back, his face serious.
"Baby! No, I won't give it to you!"
Everyone burst into laughter, including Zhu Xing, who hadn't intended to take it back anyway.
"Sister-in-law, it's for the child. Look, the child likes it, so keep it to play with. It's not anything rare, just something new to play with."
boom!
I just wanted to cover my face, but it turned bright red. When did this kid learn to sabotage me?
As soon as Zhu Xing went out, Jian Dan lit a candle on her.
"You little brat, are you doing this on purpose? You're deliberately trying to sabotage your old lady!"
The little one thought she was playing with him again, so he moved his head back and forth, patted the roly-poly toy with his two little hands, and giggled.
"Ah! Baoda! Baoda!"
Speechless
"Yours is yours, all of it is yours,"
I simply put the child on the bed and let her play by herself, but she still grumbled.
"What kind of child is this? I was just being polite, are you afraid they'll actually take it back?"
"Haha! Baby, baby!"
Looking at the people opposite her, all of them were trying hard to hold back their laughter, which made her even angrier. She simply handed the child over to the other side and lay down to sleep.
The group consisted of several people, especially several tall and burly men. The train conductor and attendants came and went from time to time, but no one dared to cause trouble, and they arrived in the capital smoothly.
However, after getting off the bus, they split into two groups.
Cheng Chao and Jian Liye disguised themselves as ordinary people before getting off the bus. They were the kind of ordinary people who wouldn't even notice them in a crowd. They had ordinary looks, ordinary clothes, and spoke with a rural accent. They looked like complete country bumpkins. They squeezed off the bus with the crowd and then went their separate ways.
Qin Qinghuai and Jian Dan, with their child, made no attempt to conceal their identities and took a bus directly to the military compound.
The Cheng family's house had been empty for many years and was naturally uninhabitable. Not long after the Qin family elders left, the house hadn't changed much. After going inside, Qin Qinghuai quickly tidied up two rooms so that people could live there.
As for food, there was nothing available, so they couldn't eat at home. Besides, their intention was to let people see that they had returned, so after resting for a while and washing up, they simply went to a restaurant.
