Chapter 937 Night, See

Qin Qinghuai leaned closer, pulled the person into his arms, and shifted to a more relaxed position.

"Tired, I must be tired."

To be honest, the girl was born healthy, and she's easy to care for. These two things alone have saved us a lot of trouble, you have to admit that, right?

"That's true. She's not a crybaby. If she's hungry or wet, she'll just whine a little. But when she starts crying, the sound is so loud that the whole neighborhood can hear her for miles around."

It was only a little over two years ago, but thinking about it now brings back so many memories. Even I can't help but smile.

"At that time, I was thinking, is this a baby? Why is its voice so loud?"

"Yes, I can testify. I saw your obvious disdain back then,"

Hey! Aren't you annoying?

"Haha! But, honey, tell me the truth, don't you feel a great sense of accomplishment?"

That tiny little thing has grown into such a lively little creature that can cry and laugh, get into trouble, but also comfort people.

"Pfft! You know who this kid learned it from? He's got a silver tongue. Look at the barbecue today. Mom and Dad didn't eat much, but they were so happy. They told everyone that their granddaughter was thinking of them, so she sent them this and that. There's nothing she doesn't think of."

"Haha, that's good. Such a small child, yet already knows how to care for others."

The little one was sleeping with sweat all over his forehead. He rolled over and mumbled something under his breath.

"Little Grey, aren't you coming back!"

Almost as soon as the little brat finished speaking, several heavy thuds were heard outside the window, "thump, thump," which were still clearly audible even as the door and window were being opened.

Finally, there were a few steady thuds as the plane landed.

The couple instantly sat up straight, exchanging a glance. With a simple flick of the wrist, they threw a coin, extinguishing the candle on the cabinet lid. Soon, several dark figures outside the window began to appear, appearing and disappearing in the distance.

After taking a closer look, Jian Dan was stunned for a moment. She couldn't help but look down at the little one. What she had been thinking about during the day had become her dream at night. And incredibly, her dream had come true?

I gently pushed open the door and stepped out; there were five enormous, dark figures in the courtyard.

Little Grey is already about the same height as Simple, while Lucky and the others are a little shorter, but they are still quite robust. When they are mixed together, it is almost impossible to tell their species apart without careful observation.

"Why are you here?"

A simple glance upwards met her small, grayish-green eyes.

"Little Grey?"

The family compound, though large, had houses very close together, so people always spoke in hushed tones. If word got out that wolves had entered the compound, it would be quite a scene.

“Auspicious? You,”

She recalled the initial sounds, and then the increasingly strong smell of blood. Her gaze swept across the ground, and sure enough, there were several dark lumps in front of the hooves, seemingly steaming.

"Are you here to deliver prey?"

"Awoo!"

Perhaps because Jian Dan wasn't speaking properly, Little Grey Wolf protested loudly, startling Jian Dan so much that she almost pounced on it and covered its mouth.

Shh! Keep your voice down, don't let anyone hear you!

"Awoo!"

"Woof woof!"

Then came a few slow, deliberate barks, and Jian Dan's heart slowly calmed down. She angrily kicked Little Grey, but Qin Qinghuai's hair stood on end. He silently cocked his weapon behind his back. Regardless of whether they were friends now, anyone who dared to hurt his wife was an enemy, and he wouldn't let them get away with it.

"You scared me to death! If someone finds out, you'll get shot, you know that?"

Jian Dan was still grumbling. Perhaps because they had gotten along quite well in the past few years, she was more excited to see her friend than anything else. Her usual wariness of wild animals had been pushed to the side.

Fortunately, the wolf wasn't there to cause trouble. Sensing the familiar aura emanating from Jian Dan, it let her vent her anger, and even kicked her foot with its hoof in the end.

These were all familiar movements, but it overlooked its grown size and strength. With a single hoof strike, Jian Dan, who had just begun to feel a pang of nostalgia, was nearly knocked over. It reached out and grabbed a tuft of fur from its back, slapping it in dissatisfaction.

"What are you doing? You kicked me so hard! It hurts!"

"Awoo!"

Qin Qinghuai could hear the low growl; it sounded like the person was a little aggrieved.

"Okay, okay, okay,"

I could barely call this one I raised myself. The familiar movements and sounds stirred up simple memories. I gently stroked Little Grey's smooth back.

"Alright, move back a bit, I'll get you some food, but don't make a sound, or we'll be in trouble if someone notices!"

"Awoo!"

Little Grey and several other dogs stepped back, clearing a space in the middle. They simply laid out a pile of dog food and ham that they had already eaten. Watching them eat with their heads down, they noticed a few small shadows behind them, a soft pile that seemed to be lured over by the aroma. After a few unsteady steps, it fell down.

"Huh? Is this your baby? Little Grey, is he your baby?"

Little Grey let out a "woof" and turned around, pointing its tail at her.

Two dogs came over and carried several small shadows in their mouths, placing them one by one in front of her. Jian Dan could only make out the shadows by the moonlight.

"May you be well and have peace?"

"Woof woof!"

"Is this your child?"

Qin Qinghuai followed closely, watching her squat down to touch it, while he stood beside her, watching Little Grey warily.

His fighting skills are indeed average. As for dealing with this wolf, well, he's not confident of victory for the time being. Of course, he won't resort to violence unless absolutely necessary, because violence would be a serious matter.
