Chapter 938 A thrilling little brat

Simple was stunned and didn't react. At this moment, her hands and feet were ice cold, and she had no strength at all. She collapsed to the ground.

Qin Qinghuai, however, secretly clenched his fists, forcing himself to focus on dealing with this unexpected event.

"It's too dark now, we can't tell if it's Little Grey or Little Blackie. Why don't you go to sleep first, and when you wake up it will be light, then we can take a good look, okay?"

The little brat waved the flashlight in his hand.

"Can't you even see this clearly?"

"...No, we can only see it clearly during the day."

"Where do they live at night? Dad, can they live with the rabbits?"

Well, no, this thing doesn't seem like a friend.

Qin Qinghuai's mind was actually quite muddled; his speech and thinking were mechanical.

"They're not from the same family, they can't live together. There's a basket over there by the wall, go get it for Dad. Let them stay in this for today, and we'll make them a nest tomorrow, okay?"

The little one woke up suddenly, not quite fully awake yet. Hearing this, it obediently ran over and grabbed the basket from which it had gathered grass during the day. Inside were some dried grasses. Qin Qinghuai lifted it by the soft slender back of its neck, tossed the little ones inside, and then picked it up without letting the little one touch it.

"Alright, they're tired and going to sleep. You should go back to sleep too, and come back to check on them tomorrow."

The little guy scratched his head, unable to think of a rebuttal, but still stubbornly insisted...

"Then you have to keep your word. We need to see it tomorrow and make a nest."

"good,"

Qin Qinghuai went so far as to make a pinky promise and stamp the document, eager to get rid of this troublesome person as soon as possible.

"Okay, pinky promise! Daddy will definitely keep his word. Now go back to bed with Mommy!"

I just caught so many rabbits today, and got some baby rabbits for free. Then, while I was taking a nap, several puppies came to the house. The little ones were so happy and easy to talk to. They readily agreed and followed me back into the house.

Jian Dan was still feeling cold all over, but she managed to stand up and get back on the kang (heated brick bed). She was almost afraid to let go of the baby, her heart pounding. A wave of fear washed over her.

The little one had woken up halfway through, and the sleepiness came quickly. He soon fell asleep again, sprawled out on his back, completely unaware of his mother's lingering fear, which kept her wide awake and made her even more cautious about closing her eyes.

As the mother and daughter entered the house, the flashlight beam went out. Qin Qinghuai was also struggling to stay upright and staggered back two steps. Two guards climbed over the wall, one supporting him and the other taking the basket from him. The group gathered at the top of the wall.

"What's going on? I feel like something's coming, but your dad says it's impossible,"

The old man was truly wronged. His granddaughter had prepared barbecue for him that evening, and he was so happy that he even had a little wine. As a result, he slept more soundly than usual and was woken up by the old lady.

Qin Qinghuai leaned against the wall, slowly exhaling.

"It's a wolf that my wife encountered in the mountains before. It helped her a lot."

The other four are dogs she raised.

They brought a bunch of prey; these few must be puppies.

Xiao Li also grabbed a flashlight, and the two of them carefully examined the pups for a long time, turning them over and over, practically pressing them to the ground to look at them. Their final conclusion was...

"There are eight in total. These five are definitely puppies. These others are too small, and the light is dim, so we can't see them clearly. How about we take a closer look tomorrow during the day?"

Neither of them expected that after so many years away from the battlefield, they would still have the opportunity to get close to wolves, and possibly even come into contact with wolf cubs. It was quite exciting, to say the least.

However, when they thought of the little girl who suddenly spoke up earlier, the two of them exchanged a glance. Well, she was quite bold. Judging from her appearance, she must have seen it all along and only spoke up at the last minute. She was fine, but she scared her parents half to death.

The old man and woman have seen it all in their lives; they even hunted wolves with their own hands when they were young. So they didn't seem afraid at all.

"If it's a dog, that's fine, but if it's a wolf, even if you're willing to keep it, you have to consider the environment. This residential compound isn't exactly a peaceful place. It's not good if people notice. Even if you domesticate it, its wild nature is hard to suppress."

Qin Qinghuai had no time to deal with these cubs right now. Whether they were dogs or wolves, they wouldn't grow up anytime soon anyway. Since they were still cubs, there was still room for negotiation.

He waved his hand, sounding a little anxious.

"Let's talk about that later. I need to check on my wife; she's terrified too."

Who can understand this situation? He wasn't scared by the wolf, but by his own daughter.

"Okay, go back and comfort them, but don't scare yourselves. They might not have seen the child at all."

"snort!"

The old man was quite happy, but his dislike for this son was also very obvious.

“I’ve seen it all. I think that child is brave, just like her mother. It’s a good thing she didn’t take after you.”

The child wasn't scared, but you parents were! Look at your cowardly behavior!

Whether he was a coward or not, Qin Qinghuai didn't care, nor did he care about the prey in the yard. He got up and walked into the house.

However, halfway there, remembering that the girl was still thinking about these things and wanted to see them again tomorrow, he turned back, picked up the basket with great disgust, and threw it directly into the west room.

After her son left, the old lady grumbled at the old man and then slapped him hard.
